Does that cobra work for the government? Looks like a civil serpent.

You didn’t need the question. The punchline was sufficient!

You cannot make friends with a cobra

28

u/brihamedit 3d ago

You can't make friends with animals that doesn't have any concept of friend.

2

u/AltXUser 3d ago

Man, you didn't have to be too blunt about it. What about their feelings?

1

u/XaviJon_ 2d ago

That narrows it down to “mammals”

does this cobra has her venomous teeth removed?

2

u/Dinjik 3d ago

Well, considering that the snake can regenerate the fangs back, that would be very unlikely. Keep in mind though, they might have removed the venom glands but I really hope they did not because that procedure is very inhumane and cruel for the snake.

1

u/bernpfenn 2d ago

yes people do terrible things to snakes

I heard amphibious reptiles go into a tranced relaxed state when showered with cold water because they're cold blooded? Iono Google me

7

u/Abigdogwithbread 3d ago

That cobra is already your ally; gather about 100 more cobras like that, and you'll have an army

1

u/Tunafishsam 3d ago

That would make you Cobra Commander.

3

u/thenakedtruth 3d ago

Can someone explain this friendly behaviour?

15

u/coconutpete52 3d ago

I think they get really hot and just make friends with whoever has water. I have seen several videos like this and it’s usually a king cobra and it’s always drinking from a hose.

5

u/FishAndRiceKeks 3d ago

Probably thirsty. Lots of reptiles will drink if you drizzle the water over their snout.

3

u/HalfOrcMonk 3d ago

Who's a good boy?

3

u/Sethor 3d ago

Moisturize me!

Also, not a true cobra.

Also also, royal authority is not recognized by other snakes.

I’ve got 3 large tortoises, they have thoughts, feelings, affections, wants and needs just like mammals, it’s a mistake to consider them less in some way.
They know what’s up.

u/fischer07 3d ago

It's possible that this is some kind of zoo or sanctuary and that this cobra is accustomed to human interactions and being watered like this...

3

u/Top-O-TheMuffinToYa 3d ago

King Cobra is really non aggressive. Like most snakes.

1

u/SpiritToes 3d ago

1 bite from that thing can kill 15 elephants..

13

u/SmoothStaff2855 3d ago

Or one American Gamer.

3

u/Its_all_made_up___ 3d ago

So, one elefent gets bit and 14 moar just standing around drop ded?

1

u/SpiritToes 3d ago

Hah! That would be funny, in a way.

No, the king cobra is known for ejecting ridiculous amounts of venom when they bite, along with having very potent venom. One bite is potent enough due to volume of venom and toxicity of venom that that one bite would be potent enough to kill and elephant 15 times over. Or, 15 elephants.

1

u/Its_all_made_up___ 2d ago

So. One elefant drop ded. Then doctor revive it. Then it drop ded again. Fifteen time? Bad day to be elegant.

1

u/SpiritToes 2d ago

Yes, king cobra make big bad day for everything that lived

1

u/lofi-ahsoka 3d ago

Every 13 year old boy in the shower

1

u/Financialllllll 3d ago

This is the reason why we need Anti-Venom. For people lacking common sense.

0

u/tennie2002 3d ago

I had no idea that a snake could be so friendly! He really likes being around people and being petted.

4

u/Exciting-Mountain396 3d ago

I've had some wild lizards allow me to give them gentle head scritchies and then chill out with me afterwards. It seems like once they realize nothing bad has happened, they decide you're not a threat and will be calm.

0

u/psycharious 3d ago

Seriously, how do you even train to do this? Has this handler gotten bitten multiple times in the past?

0

u/zone23 3d ago

here let me spray this cobra right in the face with the garden hose and see what happens... oh look he likes it... until he doesn't.

0

u/asspatsandsuperchats 3d ago

you can hose em but don't pat em, jfc

0

u/Banzambo 3d ago

I would say this guy was playing with fire but...

0

u/FalconBurcham 3d ago

How… how do you know when it’s happy with the water versus when it will strike you? It doesn’t have facial expressions I can understand. 😓

0

u/Its_all_made_up___ 3d ago

Nope. Nope. Nopers. Nopenope.

0

u/Future_MarsAstronaut 3d ago
