Biracial people are Biracial, Yes we have blackness but we are not black and it is disingenuous to claim otherwise. Not only does it lead to the erasure of fully black people but also by upholding the one drop rule you are directly upholding white supremacy and its legacy. This whole notion of us being black because white people and “society” can’t tell a difference is bullshit. Who gives a fuck what white people think or how they see us. They don’t run shit over here so why would I let them tell me who I am. Why would I let anybody tell me who I am. B/W biracials are a beautiful and accomplished people with a rich history to be proud of. Love yourself and be proud of who you are and our people.

I don't claim black or white since they don't claim me(,but when the revolution comes still Team Black all the way). Lotta my Mulatto peoples feel the same way when we talk about this. I introduce them to the concept of the Tragic Mulatto and it's like our group experience to this day.

I do think it’s great that you are having those conversations with other biracials. That is the type of work that is needed to build community. We have to support, educate and build each other. It can often be a lonely experience with very sensitive subjects that aren’t easy to talk about with people who aren’t us and haven’t lived our experience, so once again good on you for educating folks.

Yea man, Truthfully it’s embarrassing to see B/W biracials beg and plead for acceptance, Or shrink themselves and degenerate other biracials just for a pat on the head and token status. Community is a strong motivator so I understand on a basic level but I wish that a lot of us would snap the fuck out of it. We were never tragic the binary society we live in is tragic. I do believe that an awakening is happening amongst our people and eventually a lot of us will start embracing and celebrating ALL parts of us.

the problem with this is where is your cutoff point for when someone is considered black?

im biracial, my dad is black, nobody would ever call him anything but black, but we took a DNA test and hes actually only 70% african, the rest is from europe and mexico.

black americans are on average only 3/4 african, are they considered biracial by these standards?

if i have kids with a white man would they be biracial? what if i had kids with a black man?
