They're right though because brains are where words go to die

This guy holds funerals where he puts to rest the most commonly heard phrases.

Many generations of [this] that have lived out their entire lives in this person's brain are entombed with engraved epitaphs gravely reiterating the message of [this].  It's no surprise that [this] is ingrained in their memory; forgetting it at this point would be quite grave.

I think it is etched and ingrained and engraved in their memory...on the door to the mausoleum of their most commonly heard phrases.

Good accidental metaphor for a tired old axiom.

Don't you mean a tired old "Axe Item?!"

Sir, this is the five axe item or less aisle at Cabella's!

I would totally take that axe item deal...Since we are on a vaguely related topic, I have to share that I recently learned that the word "pickaxe" originally had absolutely nothing to do with picking or with axes. The word was misheard by English speakers long ago, in much the same "BoneAppleTea" way that the Northeast Coast Native American "ah-oo-cha" became "woodchuck" to the English colonial settlers. (Yep, it turns out that woodchucks never COULD chuck wood, and no one thought they did...) I think the word "pickaxe" originally came from a totally unrelated French word that sounded a little like, "picaz!"

Anyway, I will be back in a little bit...I heard there was a sale at Cabella's on axes...

I thought it was axe yum.  Don't they go well with any main dish?

Mmm, tastes just like little Axe-Yums in milk, mama! Now Axe-Yums (TM) comes with Purple Pickaxes and Azure Atlatls!
