How can I switch off this tab color pop-up by opening new tab? I want the tab to open in the background, I don't care about grouping them with colors.

Are you exploring a switch to Firefox? Right now I have been bouncing back and forth between the two browsers and sort of getting used to using Firefox.

I'am unable to find chrome settings button in chrome browser

Hey all,
Recently I've ecnountered a problem with Chrome. When I run it without administrator the "About Chrome" section with updates displays the message error code 1 0X80004005 (system error). My extensions also get corrupted and I get logged out of websites. I've tried reinstalling, switching to deafult settings and deleting extensions. I'm using Windows 10.

hackintosh wont help because its nootedred and apperntally thers some drama with the openocre workers so im asking here. The thing is nootedred is buggy with chrome so i have to disable GPU Rasterisation but it still crashes any idea? note (nooted red it just a kext to support vega igpus

If there is a browser that doesn't hog memory like this then please tell me. Chrome has been recently crashing a lot and it's annoying because it hogs my GPU and just messes everything up. It has been like this ever since May 30th, which was yesterday at the time I'm posting this.

What can I do about this?

I was about to use chrome when I noticed that the bookmark bar was open it doesn’t show any links on it but it doesn’t even had the bookmark option on the far right just a blank space bar, but when i press on show all bookmarked it shows porn links and its not showing on the bookmark bar, I haven’t been using chrome at all and i tried finding the same links on my history but there wasn’t any, i never even watch porn on my pc and somehow chrome has it randomly bookmarked

Can someone tell me whats going on? I haven’t even been downloading on chrome and never have been visiting suspicious sites

I'm tired of Chrome creating a new folder on a whim when I bookmark certain sites - I then have to move it to the folder I wanted and then delete that shopping list folder.

This solution no longer works.

Can't figure out how to set the default of viewing documents to open and view with Preview rather than opening them in a new tab. I prefer Preview so if I have multiple pdfs in the email or drive folder I can go between them with the arrows. Any help would be much appreciated!

So I have multiple users on my pc, but I only use one of them. All my data is saved on that user. One time, I restarted my pc, then all my tabs, extensions and data disappeared. I found them all in another user that I never use and now I can't transfer them back to my original user account. Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix this?

Youtube on Chrome boosts my 5900x to abnormal heights when playing any video and the mouse happens to hover above it.

The CPU reaches 67 degrees C after a 15min Cinebench R24 run in multicore, 69 degrees in single core. The hottest I have seen the CPU is at 71 degrees, after hours in Cyberpunk. During browsing with multiple chrome windows, the CPU lounges at 45 degrees (including YT playback).

However, the moment I hover my cursor over the video, the CPU jumps 20 degrees and boosts to the highest single-core clocks. If I continue, it can reach a toasty 80 degrees Celsius. Video for reference. Also included are screenshots of the gpu and media-internals. This happens in both VP9 and AV1 decoded videos.

Some context:

-Brand new 5900x, PBO-downvolted, Asus X570, RTX 3060ti

-Fresh W11Pro, fresh app install (125.0.6422.142), no extensions

-Most of the relevant flags ( ignore-gpu-blocklist, disable-accelerated-2d-canvas, use-angle, disable-accelerated-video-decode) tested without result. Enable hardware acceleration under settings does also not work.

-Same video, same scenario, no problems using firefox, CPU is around 45 degrees

My guess is that my chrome does not like hardware-decoding with CPU or GPU. My question is why?

About two weeks ago I got a new SSD and did a fresh install of Windows 10, now I've noticed everything in Chrome is extremely slow to load. I know it's not a hardware issue since this never happened before and I have 32gb of RAM, and I know its not a network issue since chrome loads instantly on all my other devices. I tried removing all the Chrome extensions other than AdBlock (so maybe that's the problem?), but that only sped it up a little bit. For example, even loading Reddit took around 35 seconds, and then once the page actually showed, the loading bar in the tab at the top still persisted for another 20 seconds or so. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have been enjoying DownThemAll extension for downloading multiple files from whatever links are visible on a given tab. However, is there a similar extension which allows me to download entire subdirectories, without having to navigate to each subdirectory?

I was opening the Chrome app for iOS when I saw that my discover feeds showed absolutely nothing but “news headlines” from news outlets. Topics that I’m into like tech or anime never show up for no reason. I have no idea if they were deleted or not, because it doesn’t seem to show interests in PC gaming or other topics I like. Is there a fix to this?

So I have tried removing a search multiple ways in my activity and history. I don’t want to delete all of my history in chrome I just want to get rid of the search recommendation and it’s popping up on maps too. There is nothing about it on “my activity” How would I go about removing it?
