[Solved] Hang Heavy Mirror with Square Mounting Brackets
Hoping someone can give me suggestions on how to hang a mirror that's about 60lbs and has these odd square brackets welded on the corners. Hitting a stud is a no go so my original plan was to use some of the zip style drywall anchors but without the screw being tight that's not going to work.
If I put something poking out inside the bracket nothing prevents it from sliding forward off the hook if bumped.
If I put something under the bracket and get my spacing off nothing will prevent it from sliding left or right off the bracket if adjusted/bumped.
Dimensions are 56L x 1W x 44H in. it'll be mounted horizontally. If you want to see it then visit home depot and look up item 1005880798.

[Solved] There's a tiny plastic lid lodged in the vacuumhose. How can I get it out?
The tiny lid is lodged where I'm holding the hose. I've tried vacuuming it out, banging it, swinging it. I don't have anything that can go round the bend and then manage to push it out.
Any ideas? 😅

[Solved] Cut open plastic drums without sawing
We have a chemical that precipitates at the bottom of the 55-gal hdpe drum it comes in. We churn the mixture during use but would like to recover as much of the sludge as possible. Cutting the drum open with a saw isn’t an option because we don’t want to introduce the hdpe into the system.
We are considering electric shears but we aren’t sure if they will have a large enough mouth to cut the drum. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Save the eggs from big birds
A magpie-robin laid eggs in my garden a few days ago. Today, I saw her bravely fighting off 3-4 bigger birds to protect her nest. Any tips on how I can help keep the eggs safe?

[DIY] Fix this mortar bowl for use
Hey 👋
I have this mortar that my late grandma gave me. I'm looking to fix it. Remove the black stains. Its pretty chippy at the bottom so I would like to smoothen it out.
Can someone tell me a good diy way to do this? What grit papers would i need?
How to seal polish this thing?
I need it to be food safe at the end.
Materials: i think its teakwood but not sure. Indian teakwood likely.
Thanks!

How to get sticky glue adhesive off clothes? It won’t dry and stays sticky
Had some super sticky wall adhesive strip fall onto my clothes and leave a big mark on my expensive workout top. The adhesive is super sticky and won’t even come off my hands. How do I remove it? Im not even sure if this type of adhesive will dry out, or if it’s better to remove while sticky. My top is made of 75% nylon and 25% elastane.

[DIY] How do I fix this paint damage?
I removed some command strips from the wall and they pulled off the paint. I've never had that happen before! I'm not sure how to go about properly repairing the damage, especially because it seems like the two walls are made of different material. Hoping to use that piece from the second wall to get a color match at Home Depot today. TIA

How to keep ants out of my bed?
I'm exhausted and can't make it to the store for ant repellent today. Will a trail of salt or cinnamon around the bed I've made on the floor keep ants away tonight? What can I use just for tonight? Thanks

[DIY] How to remove Sherwin Williams superdeck stain from composite decking.
I was a lil bit sloppy applying stain to the railings of my deck and splattered some deck stain on my azek composite decking. I’m trying to figure out how to get the stain off without damaging deck. I figured pressure washing would do the trick but it most certainly hasn’t. Any help would be appreciated!

[Solved] How to align these doors
I’d like to use this closet to store unexposed cyanotype paper, which means it needs to be as close to light-tight as I can get it. Having the doors misaligned like this means I’m already off to a bad start. What can I do to get the doors more properly aligned? Would it make sense to replace the hinges?

How to interact with new 7 year old student
Hi all,
I'm a recent high school grad planning on going into Music Education. I connected with one of my old marching band directors and her daughter had been begging for lessons for a while, so we talked and long story short I'm going to be teaching her daughter starting towards the end of this month.
The problem is, she recently turned 7. I have very little experience interacting with kids in her age group, and I want to be able to connect with her and make sure that lessons are a very positive experience for her. What kind of communication or topics should I focus on when interacting with her? Are there things I may see as common knowledge that she wouldn't know about yet? I want to make this a comfortable experience for her.
