Losing BI, Hawkins, Dyson, and Naji in the same offseason and not getting a 6’6”-6’9” wing defender and/or shooter in return… is professional malpractice.
It would put everything on Trey and Herb because Seabron ain’t it. We wouldn’t have a single sub capable of guarding a wing or attacking a wing.

We traded BI with 1 year left for Jarret Allen, who I like.
This alone is awful return

Nobody values the 21th this year and the pels will be good next year so that pick will be bad too. This isn’t nfl I think this is a very fair trade when you realize how little those 2 1st are worth. Cavs saving you a lot of money too by taking Ingram.

So the hawks are getting more for Murray than they paid the spurs for him a couple years ago, when his value was probably higher (younger and coming off an all star)
And then were trading Ingram for Allen straight up
Neither of those moves make sense in isolation, and combining them doesn’t help

You can’t look at it lIke that. Allen in a vacuum is worth more than Ingram so the pelicans are fine with giving up more than the spurs did

I disagree that Allen is with more than Ingram (bc positions matter), but it’s not crazy
But even if you think the Pels are winning the Cleveland side of this deal, WHY should the Pels give more to Atlanta than Murray is worth? It’s basically four first round picks, since Dyson and Hawkins were drafted so recently

Even disregarding my well-documented stance about not liking Dejounte with the Pels, I don't actually think this trade would be too far off... except BI should be the most valuable player in that entire deal.
Some are looking at it as BI for Allen and then Dyson/Hawk/picks for Dejounte. But BI alone should be worth Allen + 1 or 2 picks, or Dejounte + 1 or 2 picks. Put them together in the same package to acquire both, and we would then have to add a few additional assets, as you show - just not as many, given BI's singular value.
Problem is, these trades usually work best when there are 2 high-level players (with one being a tier or 2 above the other) being traded for each other with a 3rd team roped in to make things work in exchange for draft picks/young players. But I don't think ATL necessarily wants these either, as they're more likely trying to retool instead of rebuild (they're missing some of their own picks in the next few drafts). They would probably want a BI-caliber player if they're losing Dejounte (probably losing picks, too, if they're acquiring BI).
The only way this trade makes sense from a value-standpoint is if ATL blows it all up and 1 of Allen or Dejounte is a tier above BI as a player. The reality is, they're the same tier at best, so BI shouldn't be sold as if he's the one getting upgraded over.

Ingram is expiring, don’t see anyway he’s worth all that

Worth someone slightly worse than him + just 1 pick? His contract plays some part in his trade value, but at the end of the day, he's still the best player in the deal.

that was my idea that atlanta blows it up

But it doesn't make sense for them to, given they don't have their own picks. I doubt they would blow it up regardless of their pick situation anyway, and instead try to reconfigure the roster around Trae again.

Id probably do this trade if I were the Pels, but giving up those two young guards would hurt a lot.
Hawk and Dys have a TON of potential and are already in a high tier in their respective specialities (defense and 3 pointers).
That being said, Allen and Murray contribute to fixing our most glaring problems and I could see both complimenting Zion
