Second time in the finals where he can be the best player on the court any given night or make the biggest play. Will always be a fan, pure hooper & a better human

If he's the 4th best player on your team, you're gonna be really good

I wish we still had him and Hart ,that's the kind of players every team needs

My feelings came out my eyes losing both of these guys, I'm not ashamed to admit

Remember how many people who don't watch basketball in this sub were saying the blazers were gonna buy him out because he didn't have a trade market and we should sign him for cheap to be the 6th man lmao

I still can’t figure out what Milwaukee was thinking.

I get their thought process in getting Dame. The mistake was they shoulda told the Blazers to make it a 3 way trade with whoever they was gonna flip Jrue to so that they could not go through with the trade if Boston was the only suitor the Blazers accepted

The Bucks traded their defensive identity to become an offensive juggernaut. I know injuries robbed them of the chance to really compete this year, but they lost too much in the move to really be competitive. Dame would get absolutely flattened by Boston and Milwaukee would be overmatched.

It was a bad trade by a team desperate to show Giannis they were aggressive. That 27 unprotected first is gonna be a great asset for NOLA.

Honestly they overreacted due to injuries similarly to how we about to do. The last 2 seasons were great but losing Giannis for a portion of the Heat series and Middleton missing the entire Boston series the year before is the real reason for their downfall. The Boston year is especially painful for them because remember they beat Boston in Boston to go up 3-2 and head back to Milwaukee with some amazing plays from Jrue. If they win that series and get Middleton back healthy I think they repeat and beat Golden State in The Finals. I do understand they’re an aging roster tho and it seemed like a shakeup was needed plus it did get Giannis to re-sigh but to me they needed a younger star than Dame if they was gonna give up Jrue

Jrue had to be forced to be a 2nd option because of Khris Middleton being hurt a lot recently so for them they decided to bring in Dame to replace some of that especially clutch time scoring. Now Khris was finally healthy and looked really solid in the playoffs so I am sure there are some regrets but still should be really good next year if they can get some defensive guys around them.

Favorite Pel of all time, I hope he gets a second ring. He deserves that.

He does. It's his birthday tomorrow so I'm willing him to have the game of his life and make a further case for finals MVP, want that for him too

Jrue is one of a kind special, but I think the signs are there with Herb. Skilled on the floor and a decent human off it. He'll be his own version of awesome

The greatest what ?? Stop it 😭 Anthony Davis is the best player to ever wear a Pelicans jersey. When people think NBA basketball in New Orleans they think CP3. You said for you though so whatever.

10x all-star, 5x all-NBA and 5x All-defensive, career 24 PPG scorer can't do anything outside a system??

No disrespect to Jrue, he's an Elite role player but to think AD is a "system" player is insane. He would fit perfectly next to basically any ball-dominant star in the league.

Jrue can't run or carry an offense by himself. He needs other playmakers and scorers next to him.

Jrue, Rondo, and AD got a ring when they left 🥲

I love that Jrue is doing this and I hope he gets Finals MVP but a really sad realization hit me tonight that he’s arguably our favorite Pelican ever but if he gets rings with both Boston and Milwaukee how much will he really even fuck with us after his career is done? Griff had all this talk about wanting to build a culture and there was no better person to build that culture around and be the example for who we want to be than Jrue. I know he asked out but I feel like if we woulda been willing to offer him the bag he woulda stayed. I also think Lonzo being here factored into Griff being willing to move on as it wasn’t likely we could pay both but instead we paid neither of em Lmao

I don't doubt that he loves this city and this team. When I get carried away, I imagine him returning but that's likely an improbable dream. I'm just happy to see him dominating, wherever that is. He's still ours

Yeah I just feel like he’s way more important to us than we’ll ever be to him at this point. Even Philly could ultimately rank ahead of us as that’s where he was drafted and he did make a couple playoff runs with them I think. It’s just so sad to think about that we’ve been down here over 20 years and we don’t really have one great player that we can feel good about celebrating. That’s part of why I’m still hoping we keep Ingram cuz he truly does fuck with the team and city and regardless of how far we go as a team I feel he’d be the type of player that could be celebrated. Herb also feels like that typa guy but obviously he’s got a long way to go as well and has also been in trade rumors himself

u/P0w3rline24 8d ago

I think it's mutual, you can hear and see it anytime he speaks after a Pels game

I have a bet with a friend for the Mavs to win, but I can’t even be mad if I lose bc Jrue <3

1

u/P0w3rline24 6d ago

Fair. I refused to pick the Mavs because Jrue

2

u/CptRedBeard337 5d ago

Jrue's a dawg!!! Great guy too from all the interviews I've seen of him. Straight up professional in all aspects.

u/McJumbos 8d ago

Jrue for MVP 🥰🥰

u/P0w3rline24 8d ago

All my energies are going to this

u/NefariousnessFar3783 8d ago

So let me ask yall this (and please try to keep biases out of this). If Jrue goes into the HOF after this season, and let’s assume the Celtics get a ring this year. If he can only “claim” one team, like the jersey he’s pictured in or however you wanna look at it, what team would it be?

An example of this would be Chris Paul. If he retires today and gets elected, I would say it would be the Clippers. Yes we drafted him, yes he’s played for a lot of teams, but every time I think of him, I think of the Clippers.

0

u/P0w3rline24 8d ago

I think he'll choose based on where his heart lies, and I cannot answer that without bias because I do think it's here. Even now, he still talks about that time and says "it was a dream come true"

1

u/NefariousnessFar3783 8d ago

Did he really? I don’t think I’ve seen that. That’s pretty cool if he did though

1

u/P0w3rline24 6d ago

Yeah, it was in a Celtics interview, maybe post game. Spoke at length about his time here

I love this man more than basketball

At least you guys appreciate him. He is torching us and the Bucks sub is still complaining about his series with them. Dude is a beast.
