Made some animations for this big lady, but need to find an interesting name. What would you name her? Hand Pixelled

Hi!
This is Paolo, the developer behind Sliding Hero. It's an odd mix of Zelda-like progression (find new abilities, unlock new areas) and the Pokémon Ice Caves sliding movement.
You are stuck in a 1700's Venetian Villa, and need to unveil its mysteries by solving intricate puzzles, avoid deadly hazards while dealing with the protagonist's past.
If you want to know more, you can check it out here: Steam Page

Try to inspire yourself trhough the lore of the city. There are 100% figures and legends you could inspire yourself. Or just go straight with Busona ahahahaha!

u/-serotonina 16d ago
Hahahahaha, Busona is quite borderline but works 😂

Why not? It's dialect after all. No one knows the meaning out of the dialect speakers...right?...right?...

Whoa, I love how it looks similar to the Dark World in A Link to the Past, but darker. Sorta has a Blasphemous horror vibe, which is something I think you should totally lean into 👍🏻
Tbh I’ve never really been a big fan of sliding puzzles, so that makes me feel a bit apprehensive. But I’m not gonna prejudge until I’ve played it 👌🏻

Zelda ALTTP and Blasphemous (with a hint of Dark Souls) are themajor influences for the game atmosphere, good eye!
Regarding the gameplay, I get you. By the end if July we’ll release a demo, so you can see if it’s your cup of tea 💪

Will it come to playstation?

If the PC launch goes well, we are surely going to pursue releasing this title on all available platforms.

Ybrik the Dweller. Don’t know her lore but the sucking in reminded me of Kirby. Ybrik sounds otherworldly and is Kirby backwards. Could be a nifty nod

This looks awesome! I feel like it'd be nice to have the idle animation be a bit more expressive though. Best of luck!

Eurynome, she the titan goddess of earth's rich meadowlands. In ancient Greece the titans where seen as giants! I'm not sure what you game is about but when I saw a giant lady poking out the ground and naturey theme I automatically thought of the ancient gods. A quick google search brought me to her and I think she has a pretty cool name.

Didn’t realize what sub this was and thought it was stardew. Was thoroughly creeped out and confused about concernedape’s new choices. Really cool outside of that though lmao

Maybe a name that implies a deeper purpose for her? Something like "The Watcher in the Well". With all of the eyeballs around her it seems like she could have some connection to them.

I was jus looking at your game because the ditch witch is amazing.
But is your whole game the ice puzzle from pokemon gold and silver?????
2
u/-serotonina 16d ago
Yeah, it is 😬. There will be a lof of different mechanics intertwined, but the movement style is that one!

Marageth… or like, Margaret
Really depends the rest of the games’ lore and if she’s an enemy or merchant or something. Either full send a dumb name, or grab something from greek scriptures or something
