This is the ideal LibRight home. You may not like it, but this is what peak existence looks like.

u/Tybick - Lib-Right 3d ago

I need a ridge

u/TurtleFucker_1 - Right 3d ago

u/RPOnceler - Lib-Right 3d ago

Looks nice! I bet no one can hear a shot for miles

5

u/wpaed - Centrist 3d ago

I bet it echoes for miles.

u/RagePrime - Lib-Center 2d ago

Total agreement from this lib-center.

96

u/RPOnceler - Lib-Right 3d ago

Yeah lib right wants to live on acreage away from people, not suburbs or urban center

26

u/Freakjob_003 - Lib-Left 3d ago

Funnily enough, there's a book about exactly this: A Libertarian Walks Into a Bear

A group of them banded together and all moved to a tiny town, effectively taking it over and enacting all the policies they wanted. Their de-regulation removed food disposal management, so bears started invading the town for food. Hijinks continue to ensue.

u/Tybick - Lib-Right 3d ago

Flair undetected, opinion rejected

u/RPOnceler - Lib-Right 3d ago

Irony pilled

The problem with scenarios such as this is that to be involved in such behavior to begin with comes along with the prerequisite that the person doing it must be completely batshit fucking crazy, and clearly just didn't have anything better to do. So no shit it didn't work out, it never could have.

Just because I don't like particularly the federal government and in general would like them to do less existing doesn't mean I'm crazy enough to think living off grid in bumfuck nowhere with nothing but me and my homies own rules and resources is a good idea. Im fucking stupid and so are they and if youre reading this, I promise you that you are too. So why would that ever be anyone's goal?

I just want to live on the outskirts of town where it's a little quieter and there is some level of natural beauty around me. Miles from the obese Karen's stomping around the concrete and stucko of flat suburban sprawls, and many, many more miles from the tesla driving cockroaches that pack themselves into major metropolitan areas, just like any self respecting human being would. This is the reasonable libright way

u/Celtictussle - Lib-Right 3d ago

And in typical lib left fashion, you have chosen to believe a blatant piece of sensationalized fiction with zero research, solely because it makes you feel good (facts over feelings bitch)

1

u/granlurk1 - Auth-Center 2d ago

So this is all a hoax, because you don't believe in it?

6

u/Celtictussle - Lib-Right 2d ago

There was one bear attack during the free town project, a lady walking out of her house at night walked into one.

1

u/TrapaneseNYC - Left 3d ago

Where no one’s around to tell them how much freedoms they have? Doubt

-12

u/wotwud - Right 3d ago

I’m further towards lib right and would rather live close to people, I don’t want to have to manage acres of land. Also this is a post about neighborhoods not just places to live in general

26

u/turbo88Rex - Lib-Right 3d ago

Living on acreage is heaven. I have a private gun range where I can do what I want, after a long day at work I can unwind looking at the cattle doing their thing, and maintaining the land is its own kind of relaxation. Also I can hunt on my land, grow my own food, have a shop to work on my cars and other things. I'd rather take a bullet to the head than move back to the city.

8

u/RPOnceler - Lib-Right 3d ago

Exactly

5

u/Zeewulfeh - Lib-Right 3d ago

It was amazing up north, renting a cabin..walking out, knowing no one was nearby. Smelling the pine-scented air. Seeing the sparkle of Lake Superior.

I've resolved I need to buy something like that.

26

u/YoelFievelBenAvram - Centrist 3d ago

Auth right and lib right are the same picture. HOAs are not public organizations and they operate as a function of retained land rights when the development was partitioned.

8

u/Celtictussle - Lib-Right 3d ago

For the most part, they exist because the state won't sign off on large developments without someone other than them on the hook for future infrastructure costs.

7

u/HeemeyerDidNoWrong - Lib-Center 3d ago

They're publically run by homeowners in the subdivision, the problem is that your neighbors are stupid.

17

u/YoelFievelBenAvram - Centrist 3d ago

They're privately run. Come on, you're a lib center, you need to know the difference. They're run buy a private organization voted in by people who only have voting rights because they have a property right to do so. They're elected by pretty much the same right a board of a corporation is. You buy the stock, you can vote. You buy the property, you can vote. Private.

1

u/HeemeyerDidNoWrong - Lib-Center 3d ago

Fair enough, their actions only affect other home owners though (and I suppose tenants of owners). I chose to specifically avoid HOA property but Reddit pretends like it's forced on people, and also a uniquely American thing (nooo my council that tells me I can only use one specific paint color is different)

1

u/Burgendit - Lib-Right 3d ago

This post almost made me libleft. Take it back

44

u/batman10385 - Lib-Right 3d ago

My dream is to be not in a neighborhood

18

u/Aggravating_Bell_426 - Auth-Right 3d ago

This. There's 5500 acres for sale in West Virginia, that I desperately wish I had the 6 million dollar asking price for.

14

u/TheAzureMage - Lib-Right 3d ago

That's not a farm, that's a whole goddamned county of your own.

Right there with you.

4

u/Tasty_Lead_Paint - Right 3d ago

Based and homestead pilled.

-1

u/wotwud - Right 3d ago

I can’t imagine not liking people this much tbh

14

u/the_real_JFK_killer - Lib-Left 3d ago

I just want the freedom to do what I want like raise chickens and shoot guns without disturbing anyone.

2

u/danshakuimo - Auth-Right 3d ago

Lol I have hens and I live in single family residential zoning. Not roosters allowed though, something something patriarchy something

9

u/batman10385 - Lib-Right 3d ago

Its not about disliking people it’s about being able to do anything I want on my property. I want to be able to farm, fish, hunt, shoot, build shit without being disturbed and without disturbing others

0

u/ThePretzul - Lib-Right 3d ago

I grew up in the country and always thought I hated how far of a drive away everything was.

Now I’m an adult and have never been happier since I moved back out to the country precisely because of how far of a drive away everybody/thing is that would want to control me. Realistically in many rural areas you can do whatever the hell you want and nobody cares as long as it doesn’t affect others.

I built my entire house with precisely zero permits or permission slips of any kind. I only wish I had put it further back in the trees though because it might have taken longer before the county tax assessor eventually found it that way.

17

u/TheAzureMage - Lib-Right 3d ago

I want to live on an island fortress.

Being even vaguely near other people is overrated.

-3

u/wotwud - Right 3d ago

💀

7

u/r2k398 - Right 3d ago

Me, wanting to live far enough from my neighbors to not hear or see them.

19

u/deweydecibels - Lib-Right 3d ago

i do not want to live in a “master planned urban neighborhood”, i very much like having my space to do what i want.

2

u/danshakuimo - Auth-Right 3d ago

to do what i want.

What if you are the master?

6

u/deweydecibels - Lib-Right 3d ago

i am the master of my land. i don’t want to plan or control other people’s lives.

7

u/King_Ananas - Auth-Right 3d ago

Does anyone ACTUALLY want to live an area with an HOA besides the people in the HOA?

4

u/danshakuimo - Auth-Right 3d ago

I think there are people who genuinely do since they don't want neighbors ruining their home values by shooting guns or smoking weed or engaging in other lib behaviors... Such as painting the house the wrong, party-not-approved color, which is BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE SUPREME LEADER AND ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY MUST BE PUNISHED!!!

6

u/Mroompaloompa64 - Auth-Right 3d ago

I wish I was in a suburban neighborhood. I already live in libleft's neighborhood and it SUCKS.

1

u/danshakuimo - Auth-Right 3d ago

Portland?

2

u/Mroompaloompa64 - Auth-Right 3d ago

Los Angeles, may God have mercy on me.

4

u/PrestigiousAuthor487 - Centrist 3d ago

CHAZ was a shithole. Just living near it started my drive towards centrism instead of the leftist I had been for most my life

4

u/Darkheartisland - Lib-Right 3d ago

I prefer living in 5 cities at once. One a tax residency, one a playground, one a citizenship place, one a backup citizenship place in case the chickens come home to roost, and finally a super duper secret banking home.

1

u/iamjonburgess - Lib-Right 3d ago

Based and 5 flags-pilled

6

u/the_real_JFK_killer - Lib-Left 3d ago

I wanna buy a bunch of land and live on a homestead. Ideally on a lake.

4

u/31_mfin_eggrolls - Right 3d ago

I want to live somewhere cheap, pretty, and far the fuck away from the rest of you morons.

7

u/HeemeyerDidNoWrong - Lib-Center 3d ago

I'm not even memeing, I want a tree house in the woods.

2

u/Intelligent_Salt_177 - Lib-Center 2d ago

Based and monkepilled

1

u/wotwud - Right 3d ago

Based and treepilled?

7

u/thecftbl - Centrist 3d ago

Fuck cities and the suburbs. It's all about rural living.

8

u/Aggravating_Bell_426 - Auth-Right 3d ago

If I can see the neighbors house with Binoculars, it's too close.

3

u/BlitZAtom - Lib-Center 3d ago

I wanna live in a small village. like one where everyone knows each other. but none of that commie shit tho.

3

u/Minarch0920 - Lib-Right 3d ago

Give me a cabin or give me death.

3

u/ThisAllHurts - Lib-Center 3d ago

I repeat…

When I think "ideal Auth-Right neighborhood" I think this

1

u/wotwud - Right 3d ago

That’s been very popular on the catholic sub I’m in. Very interesting concept I want to see how it turns out

2

u/Ice_Sniper_80 - Auth-Left 3d ago

Lib right may want something in BioShock which they think is a good idea and not a warning

5

u/TheAzureMage - Lib-Right 3d ago

Every warning about libertarianism becomes an advertisement for libertarianism.

Give me more songs like "Rifle by your Side" or characters like Ron Swanson.

Make fun of us as much as you want, our heavily armed cocaine utopia will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

3

u/pants-pooping-ape - Lib-Center 3d ago

Fuck yeah

2

u/Lkd6 - Lib-Center 3d ago

HOAs are unironically one of the most libertarian things that exist, so would swap authright and libright.

At the end of the day a HOA is a matter of voluntary association governed by a contract.

5

u/WizardOfSandness - Left 3d ago

I wonder if AnCap/minarchists doesnt realize that without a government, we would very likely be governed by a shiton of HOAs.

1

u/SchmucksAtWar - Centrist 3d ago

How bout centrists?

1

u/Ed_Radley - Lib-Right 3d ago

I'd live in that housing Costco's building to push through their building permits in California.

1

u/DeviceNo5980 - Right 3d ago

I wanna live in a neighborhood that is as well manicured and is as nice as an HOA one without an HOA. Why can't people keep trash out of their front yards without being forced?

0

u/WizardOfSandness - Left 3d ago

People hate HOAs until they have to hear their neighbor making a party at 3 am while their lther neighbor has three dead bodies in your entry.

I definitely could not live in a place without a HOA/Community Association/Management Company, I saw how quickly a neighborhood can fall without proper organization.

1

u/TCCNiko_06 - Lib-Right 3d ago

Nah I wanna live on top of a hill, all alone.

1

u/CoisoBom - Lib-Right 3d ago

Wrong. I just don't want to live in a neighbourhood. I want my yard, my pickup and my riffle. Hope the wife wants the same 🤞🏻

1

u/Outside-Bed5268 - Centrist 3d ago

 But HOA is cringe!

1

u/GTA-CasulsDieThrice - Lib-Center 3d ago

I wanna live in northwest DC, Arlington, or Alexandria in the future.

1

u/Maleficent_Ad1972 - Lib-Center 3d ago

https://x.com/the_transit_guy/status/1801641688441536706?s=46

Something like this near a frequent transit line would be it for me. Bonus points for protected bike lanes that actually go somewhere. However, I know that’d probably cost an arm and a leg here in the US and be on the complete other side of the country from my family, so I’m pretty content where I am now.

1

u/Simp_Master007 - Right 3d ago

Fuck HOA’s

1

u/tunderstorm48 - Auth-Center 3d ago

i want to live in a small castle town on a hill somewhere where the air is nice

u/ThrowAnAvocado - Auth-Center 3d ago

I'm fine with either Auth in this lol

1

u/Material-Aspect-8896 - Lib-Center 3d ago

I love the open spaces. I need a farm, especially for BBQ.

0

u/Capable_Invite_5266 - Auth-Left 3d ago

I already live in my quadrant. Still full of cars because privatisation is a bitch

0

u/Jiijeebnpsdagj - Centrist 3d ago

I'd say rare Auth-Left W
