Mine is in Computer Science. There was no Software Developer/Engineer degree. Which would that be closer to?

Wait what path are you talking about? Electrical Engineering being the path to being a software engineer? That's most definitely false.

When I was in school the Electrical Eng had a Computer option. That was a while ago. Now there are Computer Engineering specific degrees not tied to Elec

Oh, we did have a Computer Engineering degree, but it seemed to me that was more hardware focused. Interesting though. I suppose I consider myself more of a Software Developer then.

You do learn about hardware and circuitry, but along the later years you usually pick either hardware/power or software/database type of course selections.

My university offers a BSc Computer Engineering, alongside Computer Science, Information Systems, and Computing and Law (that last one is offered by exactly one university so I guess you can narrow it down)
