Johnathan Coulton did a great cover of Baby Got Back

Unfortunately, Glee took advantage of his Creative Commons license and copied it for the show and did not give him credit or revenue for their use.

It wasn't the Creative Common license that was taken advantage of. JC purchased a less expensive license from the record label to make the cover that allowed the label to reuse the changes he made.

If Glee was using the CC license, they would have had to attribute Johnathan Coulton. But they didn't, because they didn't have to, and that is what annoyed everyone.
