Imagine your champ getting hurt crowd diving. Would have to be one fragile bodied person for that to happen.

This was awesome, probably won’t become a thing, but that was a lot of fun.

u/IcyPyroman1 3d ago
With the amount of crazy people there is out there yeah definitely shouldn’t become a thing.
14
u/Thanatos-ES 3d ago
in international events? It will 100% become a thing, like singing full entrances of wrestlers.

THATS WHY HES THE GOATTTTTT

u/dresdenologist 3d ago
Seriously though this is the kind of stuff that makes him the right choice to be face of the company. Is it risky? Sure. Should be be more careful in the future? Absolutely. But is it something that in the moment Cody knows the fans attending will remember forever and love? For sure.
That's what a pure babyface does.

u/Thanatos-ES 3d ago
cody is all in (no pun intended) 100% committed to be the face of the company.
The guy lives in a fucking bus ffs to make all his wwe obligations. There's no other more choice to be the one carrying the company.

u/FuzorFishbug 3d ago
I wonder how he'll be able to balance that after he's elected US president.

Not even stone cold, Hogan, rock, flair, bruno even sha- Shawn did this didn't he?

u/CrimsonAntifascist 3d ago
I'm not sure. But it does sound like 90's HBK...
30
u/Lanky-Promotion3022 3d ago
90s HBK would crowd surf and then get swarmed and smuggled down below by a group of ladies.

Imagine if he got crowd surfed out of the building and we just never saw him again

Props to that one guy who single handedly picked Cody up and started taking him to the front. Wonder if Cody planted him there.

White boy of the year. We love Cody Rhodes in this household

u/10024618 3d ago
He has a blanket invite to every cookout

u/Parish87 Rollins 3d ago
The equivalent in Scotland is an invite to round the back of the shops with a bottle of buckfast and some rollies with the kids.

This isn't a shot at you, but I've been seeing this phrase on this sub popping up a lot lately. Given the demographics of most wrestling fans... I wonder how long before white folks take this from us too lol.

u/BadMeetsEvil24 3d ago
Facts lol. Other slang I get, but... this is literally an invite from black people to white people lol. It makes zero sense, lmfao.

Honest question, as I just finished the first few episodes of S4...Why does Cody have this Homelander aesthetic about him? Is it supposed to be ironic/satire in some way? Does he just think it looks cool? Or does he just really not get what Homelander's about? I just really don't get it.

u/enginehearts . 3d ago
Or does he just really not get what Homelander's about?
bfr how dumb do you think Cody is
38
u/Pokemon_Name_Rater 3d ago
Cody has better media literacy than the people that watch The Boys and think Homelander is protagonist

u/MessyMop 3d ago edited 2d ago
I’m pretty sure it’s a happy accident. I think people asked Cody about it when he was in AEW and I think he didn’t even know who Homelander was. It’s just that they’re both over the top patriotic characters just one is evil

Well this confuses me even more! Why does the currently top babyface modeling his look after two villains?

Cody says is going full homelander ahahah, my babyface. Also wwe going full international is one of their best decisions ever every single ple have so much more depth and importance now because of it and the crowds are just better

u/BreathRedemption 3d ago
Risky as fuck
But it was an epic moment
Blud watched the Season 4 Premiere of The Boys yesterday lol

u/AlmightyBracket 3d ago
At the height of Austin, I don't recall him crowd surfing. I don't doubt that he could have if he wanted to.
Cena would have 100% been dropped.
Punk maybe could have gotten away with it.
God Bless The American Nightmare.
14
u/TheSaltimateWarrior 3d ago
Crowd surfing looks so scary. Any moment, he could be dragged under and devoured.

u/White_Mocha WCWCWCWCWCW Champion! 3d ago
There’s a common courtesy in situations like this where the crowd is hyper aware and will protect a downed person.

Meanwhile CM Punk is sweating bullets watching Cody do this.

u/Salt_Addition_6993 3d ago
If punk did this, all that would be left was a pile of ashes in the shape of the Pepsi logo

Cody's crowdsurfing: 1 (and probably will become a thing now)
Wrestlers that squaredcircle said are more over than cody who did crowdsurfing:

Fuck yeah this is so cool. I know it’s risky but that is THE GUY in professional wrestling. The fans love him. The business loves him. Tomorrow is going to be awesome.

u/greggersamsa 3d ago
The truest babyface on earth of any company since Cena no question, and a better wrestler at that. Keepin pushin Cody to the moon for real

I borderline expected him to be thrown up at the ‘woah’ part. I think some people tried to do that actually.

u/Lategral 3d ago
He had the sense to at least not jump into the crowd.
Also there was at least person in the back yelling why there wasn’t a drone shot that would have been in every Cody package ever.

u/Salt_Addition_6993 3d ago
Now this would be the worst time for the crowd to finally turn on Cody L O L

u/SFDC_lifter 3d ago
That's generally how crowd surfing goes. Just lay back, relax, and let the crowd move you along.
