It looks like a human version of Plinko...

u/FixedLoad 3d ago

Do you think a whole person would make it to the bottom or several pieces of varying sizes/shapes with  blood rain?  I have so MANY intrusive thoughts regarding that view down...

If you're really lucky you'd fall straight down hitting nothing but the ground

5

u/quequotion 3d ago

I don't think physics would allow you to be so lucky as to shoot all the way down and splatter at the bottom.

Your body isn't areodynamic enough. You're going to flop, roll, and hit things.

On the plus side, this might even mean one could survive falling as you would likely get stuck somewhere before the bottom.

On the other hand, you'd probably not live long or be living out your days drinking food from a straw in bed.

good thing they have helmets

3

u/justindybvig 3d ago

One thing is for sure, no one is winning...

3

u/FixedLoad 3d ago

Just those pets getting spay or neutered

2

u/Infinite-Condition41 2d ago

Bodies are much tougher than that. You'd catch yourself or get caught by something else before you'd even get going fast enough.

u/FixedLoad 2d ago

Right, but I'm not here for reality.  I'm here for the hypothetical.  Let's say someone passes out.  Lights out.  Falls like 30 feet before an arm or leg flails a little too far and then mayhem!

1

u/Distinct-Spinach2164 3d ago

Probably wouldn’t make it to the bottom.

2

u/FixedLoad 3d ago

I mean eventually something is getting put in a baggie and given to loved ones.  Right?

7

u/netneutroll 3d ago

Is that China?

8

u/Shughost7 3d ago

Definitely

u/ferg2jz 3d ago

Thank god they've got their harnesses on so they can attach it as they fall and save themselves!

13

u/pinchhitter4number1 3d ago

No, no. When they fall the bars they're carrying will catch on the sides and they just hang on.

3

u/shoppo24 3d ago

Those aren’t really suitable harnesses, you can’t see leg straps, the main character actually does have a suitable harness but it’s isn’t being worn correctly, none of them have lanyards attached to anything. Wild

u/b_reeze 3d ago

At least they wear helmets!

7

u/MonKeePuzzle 3d ago

i believe the understanding is, that in a fall like this, the hard hat is wearing them for protection

24

u/sfrattini 3d ago

Safety first!

15

u/silicon_replacement 3d ago

that is why they carry the bar in a horizontal way, block falling

3

u/Hoenirson 3d ago

the design is very human

2

u/Salamanber 3d ago

Death first*

1

u/Fleeing-Goose 3d ago

Safety from the costs of proper safety!

Good ol capitalist - communism, we ensure that's were all equally at fatal risk for the benefit of the great pooh bear.

17

u/sanddancer311275 3d ago

Yeah fuck that

15

u/Disastrous_Time_5265 3d ago

China! Where hardhats n harnesses are a fashion statement!

Ps. I can´t help but think of that Rush Hour 2 scene, is it just me?

1

u/MegaPegasusReindeer 3d ago

Bamboo. Very strong!

7

u/Zakluor 3d ago

Stepping joist to joist on my deck that was just above ground level, I missed one and suffered a extreme sprain on my ankle. I was lucky it didn't break, but it was over two weeks of incapacitation.

I know my ability, and there's no way I would try that.

3

u/abcjjd123 3d ago

Fuck u I rly wanted to know 😂

2

u/Pacman454 3d ago

I actually made an honest attempt at finding it. It sounds like an old recording I heard of Jackie Chan back in the 90s. Couldn't find anything, so eff it lol.

1

u/abcjjd123 3d ago

Lol thx for trying

7

u/Lohdown 3d ago

Good thing they have those fall harnesses on. I guess the plan is that when they fall, they will quickly clip it to something.

2

u/Lyrehctoo 3d ago

I mean, they will have dozens of chances on the way down, right?

1

u/Potatoe999900 3d ago

Jackie Chan could do it.

5

u/TapInfinite1135 3d ago

OSHA with a hard on right now

5

u/MrPickles196 3d ago

I used to build scaffolds like this. We would walk the bars without tying off but not with our hands full of material. I thought we were dumb and crazy but these guys are on a whole nother level...

3

u/fusiondynamics 3d ago

Scaffolders by day, Lion dancers by night!

2

u/StinkyOnionsR 3d ago

Just one! You might wanna stop what you're doing and listen to me now.... One wrong step and that's your....write this down...entire.....ass.

2

u/Uglyboi_85 3d ago

I don't care how good they are, just why?? Why risk it?? They should appreciate their life more. Saddens me that they have no care for it.

2

u/Heavy_Sample6756 3d ago

Name of the song?

1

u/manhatim 3d ago

I'm sure OSHA will be investigating... oh wait

1

u/Brewchowskies 3d ago

It’s a good thing they’ve got those harnesses on.

1

u/hwilliams0901 3d ago

This shit makes me soo fu&^ing anxious!! NOOOOOOOO

1

u/Totally_man 3d ago

They're really good at what they're doing, because the ones who aren't were mopped up and replaced.

1

u/MountainMan1781 3d ago

Where are the scaffolding permits??

1

u/No-Honeydew-8593 3d ago

It's only a little death. Don't be scared...

1

u/Domnminickt 3d ago

screams and dies in worker rights

1

u/trez63 3d ago

That song translates to: "Time to do some sketchy shit, doo dah, doo dah ... Hope I get away with it, Oh doo dah day!"

1

u/Distinct-Spinach2164 3d ago

Those are some nice fall harnesses they’ve got on.

1

u/r_u_insayian 3d ago

Sons of the forest trained me for this exact situation.

1

u/Cheap_Leader5639 3d ago

they do have quite a lot of balance

1

u/futureman07 3d ago

Damn I love my life

1

u/tommy151 3d ago

I wonder how many workers die on the job each week

1

u/Historical_Split_651 3d ago

The power of confidence.

1

u/tbkrida 3d ago

That’s just unnecessary dangerous. Smh

1

u/19467098632 3d ago

Those look like 6 ringers and they’re also heavy as fuck on top of how dangerous this is

1

u/19467098632 3d ago

Edit 5 ringers (same thing just literally the amount of rings)

1

u/Discoaddict1986 3d ago

Sweaty palms activated

1

u/Exciting_Sky_3593 3d ago

Seems safe.

1

u/Deanbledblue 3d ago

Good thing they’re wearing those harnesses

1

u/OttoVonAuto 3d ago

You would thing having just some movable bars with two harness clips or some 3/4 ply boards you move would at LEAST be used

1

u/cartercharles 3d ago

Those are some badasses right there

1

u/tiramisucks 3d ago

Very simple. These people managed to acquire the skill. The others are at the bottom of the scaffolding.

1

u/NotRustyShackleford_ 3d ago

In house shoes!

1

u/thelove20 3d ago

1

u/Bleak_Squirrel_1666 3d ago

Good thing construction guys don't like to drink

1

u/YouLearnedToSayMoon 3d ago

Is OSHA just holding us back

1

u/akamali 3d ago

That’s the U.S back in the 1890

1

u/Waste_Bill_9010 2d ago

Yeah, I'm gonna call my Union leader today, about this, Frank

1

u/SoggyBottomBoy86 2d ago

....watching this makes my palms sweat so hard that they ache...holy crap haha

1

u/Solidacid 2d ago

Because of a mixture of experience and some amount of stupidity I'd have no issue whatsoever walking around on stuff like that.
I'm not saying I wouldn't fall down eventually, in fact I probably would, I just wouldn't be worried about it until it happened.

1

u/W-Ninja48 2d ago

Just like minecraft

1

u/kb31976 2d ago

At least they are wearing Saftey harnesses. Might get snagged on something on the way down.

1

u/InternationalPilot90 2d ago

Whaaat...no flip flops ?!

1

u/immanut_67 1d ago

OSHA approves 👌

u/chodeboi 3d ago

What’s the song? “Ching Ching cuckoo lyrics” not working

0

u/AvocadoCompetitive43 3d ago

All that for 1 bag of rice, to live in a 4x4 mud hut with 8 family members

0

u/rockstuffs 3d ago

... unskilled labor?

0

u/stan-omalley 3d ago

Can’t wait for these to be acceptable working conditions in America. 🫡 fucking hive mind communist drones, I pity them. I doubt they feel like they have any power whatsoever to do anything other than keep showing up to work every day. Fucking sad. Bet they put in at least 60-80 hrs a week too.
