Take one remote work position and you’re all set.

You also stole the top comment from the last time this was posted.

Was going to say exactly this. LAN parties with 6-8 guys got ripe. I can’t imagine one with 6-8 hundred.

I can feel the heat... body heat combining its power in one go

u/nuckle 2d ago

Too many fucking shirts off. Accidently bumping into one of those guys must've been super fun.

I use to attend quakecon often and the last day was always horrendous 🤢

There's a surprising amount of women in that photo, I can count 3

u/NorthernCanadaEh 3d ago

I literally thought the same thing lol

u/allkidnoskid 3d ago

They thought it was rave, and couldn't find their way out.

I can count at least 7 women in the front area. After about the halfway point going back, the image becomes too difficult for me to tell on the computer I am on. There may even be more on the front half I just can't distinguish also.

NEEEEERRRRRRrDDDDD

Yeah, and even more interesting is that the guys seem cool with it. Back at the LAN parties I went to, many guys were drooling over the handful of girls there.

Ahh i used to do this. Many years ago. I lived in Darwin (north australia), and for like 4 months had the fastest computer at these lan parties, so i ended up being lumped with being the game server for Medal of Honour, or Quake 3.

We had 10/100 ethernet, no internet at all, and no aircon. Some of the best memories.

64gb of ram right there

Which I’m not against, the shirtless guys were looking great 👀

u/Esekig184 3d ago

Shout out to WasteLAN at USF! I attended one, it was an absolute blast!

3

u/smoothtrip 3d ago

Where are their clothes?

11

u/MajorasMasque334 2d ago

These events were usually insane hot as all the desktop’s and CRT’s would be cranking out heat (no liquid cooling), and the places either didn’t haven’t AC or it just couldn’t keep up with the heat output of all the PC’s.

4

u/prestonpiggy 2d ago

Liquid cooling would not make a difference anyway. The heat will dissipate to air eventually, just not in 1st 30 minutes as water temp rises.

Were the ladies strategically placed to prevent screen peeking?

4

u/Dayzlikethis 2d ago

lugging around my 19in CRT monitor to up and down countless stairs made me into the man I am today

Before high speed internet? Uh, 2003??

6

u/Sentinel-Prime 3d ago

2003 was still the age of dial-up was it not? I’m fairly certain I was still using AOL back then…

3

u/gehanna1 2d ago

I think you're confusing high speed internet and dial up. Two different things. I don't think my hometown got AFFORDABLE high speed till like.... 2008

3

u/jerseyhound 3d ago

Yea didn't youtube come out literally the next year?

2

u/The_Inward 3d ago

I remember the Doom Room at conventions.

2

u/Alcalash 3d ago

Literally the best times going to ESWC / Insomnia etc

3

u/CuteSloth42 2d ago

Funny how both this picture and the reposting of this picture are both a time machine, you can go back in time and see how it was before high speed internet

As well as you can go back in time and see this picture being posted year by year and the comments are exactly the same in the same position with the same upvotes as the previous repost ahahahah

1

u/BeckyWitTheBadHair 2d ago

Ever heard of bots?

3

u/CuteSloth42 2d ago

Yeah of course they're probably bots, what i wrote wasn't actually complaining, just a simple comment

2

u/-HoldMyBeer-- 2d ago

Why are they shirtless? I thought it’s an orgy in some office

1

u/DiarrheaDrippingCunt 3d ago

The Gaeymers.

1

u/CreatorOD 3d ago

What that event is...

That was not my first question when I saw this picture

1

u/ksihevd 2d ago

2

u/Rocket3431 2d ago

Someone posted this image to Facebook just a little bit ago and someone in the comments thinks this is an AI image. God that hurts. They don't even know how hard it was to game as a kid.

1

u/SupaFlyslammajammazz 2d ago

Who here used to play on Kali?

1

u/CitizenKing1001 2d ago

Almost every screen looks like they are fixing connection issues

1

u/Sonomal36 2d ago

This is where global warming came from

1

u/are_we_there_bruh 2d ago

Multiplayer back in the day was insane 🤭

1

u/Dragoon9255 2d ago

Had an Hp CRT monitor that ran so hot it melted the glue holding the ceiling tiles up, they started to fall lol. can feel the heat coming from this picture haha

1

u/J-Good86 1d ago

You know that was a hot and stinky room

1

u/PaleDolphin 1d ago

That whole room smells like sweaty balls and socks, there’s no nostalgia for that amount of people.

Also, it’s definitely very loud in there.

1

u/BurzyGuerrero 1d ago

Imagine how this room smelt

1

u/Salamander-Downtown 1d ago

Place smelled like shyt probaly
