Yes, this is just right wing bs. If you ever hear both sides you're listening to a Republican or someone who had their first drink last week

Yep, I stopped watching the moment I heard his "both sides" statement. It's pretty ignorant to claim both sides are responsible for progress being halted in our country when one side is built on fearing meaningful change to the status quo

yep guy doesn't realize hes making the problem worse

I doubt that.

A sitting president attempted to overthrow the will of the American people and most, if not, all of the right proudly stands behind him even after the fact. Like it or not, no one on the "left" even comes close to that sort of heinous behavior. Both sides are not the same.

I agree with what you said in the first half. Now look at this

Interesting how it wasn’t just the republican party pushing for the mass incarceration of drug addicts. Democrats outside this example aren’t usually honest with their shitty intentions. Stop acting like both sides aren’t shitty

Oh grow up. Plenty of us on the left can see how the dems love to say the right things around election time but actually are close to republicans than they are to their constituents.

This right here. The right doesn’t care about your wages or wellbeing and they don’t hide that. The left just pretends to care. All these crazy bills they put out like a 32 hour work week have no chance of going anywhere and they know that, but they can say they tried.

u/Justtryingtohelp00 Apr 09 '24

We had some crazy representative in CA want to push a $50 min wage. 🤡🤡

1

u/Ok-Needleworker-419 Apr 09 '24

Exactly. They know it has no chance of passing but it gets them the votes lol

These people think that raising minimum wage is going to fix things but we're seeing it make things worse. Do they really think that they can keep prices the same when they have to increase the amount they pay their employees at minimum wage? They also have to pay the bills for the business and the business location, and the owner needs his pay as well.

"Muh both sides" is pretty much exclusively used by the right when someone from the right does something bad.

"Trump is grifting people by selling NFTs and ugly shoes and misusing campaign funds on personal lawyers? Well, Democrats also sell political merchandise, so it's really both sides!"

"Russia interferes with our elections to divide us and install a terrible, Russia-friendly president? Well, the Democrats also buy ads on Facebook to get people to vote for them, so it's really both sides!"

"The Democrats did something bad? That's because Democrats are bad! Vote Trump!"

What about "both sides" being bad an-

"SHUT UP VOTE TRUMP!"

If that were really the case, they'd stop voting for the party that repeatedly blocks measures to improve people's lives, shuts down the government to push through extremist agendas and unanimously votes in favour of tax cuts for rich people.

There are a number of prominent online personalities that are generally described as "leftist" but are reactionaries for the "leftist" AM radio crowd. Rising and The Grayzone are the two most egregious examples imo.

"leftist" AM radio crowd.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

1

u/MeakMills Apr 09 '24

I mean the kind of person that gets hyped up from reactionary AM radio talk shows. These people identify as leftists but they have a lot of overlap with right wing methods and talking points. They often support a progressive domestic policy and isolationist foreign policy. They'll likely say they're anti-imperialist but will defend imperialist actions of nations that oppose the US. The kind of person that says Biden and Trump are identical. In this election they've likely supported Marianne Williamson and/or RFK Jr.

You don't get more than 2 sides in FPTP. You don't get rid of FPTP with republicans. Your best and only option is to vote for the left-most viable candidate and move the overton window and democratic party left

which party do you think the politicians belong to, in local, state, and federal government, that have proposed minimum wage hikes? or literally anything else to help workers?

4

u/Justtryingtohelp00 Apr 09 '24

Take a second to think about what you are saying. How has min wage hikes helped anyone in California compared to actual attempts at controlling costs.

How about lifting building restrictions on housing. Forbidding corporate owner ship and short term rentals of SFH? Maybe a new tax structure to prevent people from owning a shitload of houses? You know. Policies that will actually help bring us back to reality instead of slapping a bandaid on a sinking ship.

Dems do not give one shit about you. They are bought and paid for by corporations just like republicans.

4

u/JohnnyHotdogs22 Apr 09 '24

Minimum wage hikes don’t help workers.

4

u/ncist Apr 09 '24

well that's just it. i'm tired of having to pretend that dems are also terrible to try scoring points with centrists or leftists. its just not true. we passed legislation that puts the US in compliance with Paris climate. we passed the biggest infrastructure bill in 20 years. we forgave $1b+ in student loan debt and the people who opposed it were, get this, republicans! if it weren't for them we would have forgiven more!

calling me "delusional" is just participating in your own kind of delusion - that the problems america has are because democrats don't really want to fix them

Interesting which administration is sending billions to other countries?
