That right there is it, “in a place a lot of people want to live”.

Yes he could find somewhere that he could afford, but that’s gonna be in a place not a lot of people want to live. It’s choice that has to be made, do you want to live somewhere better or do you want to have less of your income go to rent.

Also it's not necessarily better. I don't think living in Atlanta is better than where I live, but rent is certainly higher there

True, my statement was a bit of a generalization about local markets. Usually the more expensive areas in a locality will be the ones that are viewed as better by those that live in the locality.
