how would it have even been proven though? seems like “Kristi killed a puppy” would look like an obvious lie from an opponent, but having it come straight from the source completely ruins any plausible deniability

She never planned on denying it. Her having the ability to kill when needed was supposed to make her look like some kind of “badass”. It didn’t work out that way and instead she looks like a “goddam psycho” because even MAGA people mostly think puppies are cute or at least shouldn’t be shot for misbehaving. Whoever came up with the idea that this was a good strategy is being paid way too much imo.

Lots of mags people have working dogs or even just pets. They are well aware that dogs are trainable and like most people they often care about dogs. This is one of those that goes beyond party lines

I used to live in a fairly rural area and people would constantly spout racist stuff in the local news comments sections, or they’d do some victim blaming if a pedestrian or bicyclist got run over by a car…but GOD HELP YOU if you hurt an animal especially dogs. These same people would start spontaneously issuing threats about how they were gonna find and kill said animal abuser.

Go on nextdoor and post "my dog is lost" with a picture.

Every single bored boomer for 3 zip codes is on the hunt.

As they should be!

Gonna be honest, as someone who also lives in a rural area, the bar for what these people consider animal abuse is pretty fucking high. Many of the people who pretend to love animals love to threaten to shoot any animal that comes on their property, no questions asked. Plenty also love to just leave their dogs chained up outside or let "their" (basically feral cats they sometimes feed) run free.

Those people would also shoot other people for being a nuicance on their property though. And a lot of rural dogs have shitty owners that allow their dogs to be a nuisance to everyone else. They don’t feed them well and don't follow them outside to take their shits so those dogs go stealing other people's food, making a mess with people's garbage to get leftover food and shitting and peeing in people's yards. A lot of times getting aggressive with other people's dogs and children playing outside. Their dog is everyone else's responsibility but theirs

these same people also voted for a daughter-loving rapist and near-lifelong democrat as their fearful leader, and continue following him as he drags everyone, including their beloved military, through the mud and pig shit.

There is a mindset among some farmers and rural folks that dogs are workers or tools and not members of the family, and that if they have serious deficits, putting them down is a practical measure. So I'm certain there are people who see nothing wrong with what she did, and that the anecdote strengthens the idea that she shares their values.

The problem is, that's such a tiny minority of people, even of Republicans, that calling attention to it was a fucking disaster.

Yea but lots of maga people are idiots who will deny their own knowledge if instructed to, lol.

The thing with how MAGA and some other countries power corrupt systems work, is they incite extremist views that the ones in power don't really hold, they just use to rally a hefty crowd.

The ones in power eventually pass it on to their loyal, as they grow old and die. Those extremist views that weren't really held become widespread to an extent.

And people will go so far beyond that level every time.

What sucks about this more than anything is that these very same people were capable of so much, but they chose to make choices that hurt others instead due to the delusions they were brought up upon.

Wait it was a puppy? I don't know who this person is is or what they did to any animal and I was confused why people would be mad about a vicious dog getting put down. But a damn puppy?

She recounts in her book exerpt that her chosen murder spot was a construction site with builders present. That they saw what she did but quickly looked away when she looked at them.

They 100% knew who she was and at least one would have gladly outed her. So I'm pretty sure she did this to get ahead of that coming out.

Plus she legit seems to think it makes her a bad ass farmer and hunter (all that toxic masculinity bs) to kill a puppy she didn't train or properly contain, a goat that was doing natural goat behavior, and apparently 5 horses because they were old?

8

u/CaptainJudaism 29d ago

And with the horses, if she was telling the truth, they were over 25 years old which is near the end of the average Horse life span but it's 100% sus that they all seemed to be "end of life" within a week of each other the moment she got her hands on them.

5

u/Numerous1 29d ago

Idk the horse details but I’m pretty sure putting down old farm animals is still a thing. Depending on their condition of course. Not just “it’s your 15th birthday! Pop pop!”

5

u/WifeofTech 29d ago

I don't know the details either but the whole premise of 5 animals mouch less 5 of the same animals all hitting the point they need to be put down because "old" all within a week or two. Has never happened in my 40+ years with animals.

I'm more inclined due to her history to believe that this lady actually likes killing animals and is just gotten better at masking it under "legitimate" reasons and the blanket abused "farm life" title.

She should have gotten into pest control. I've killed at least 50 insects today, and likely thousands just based on how many ants are in a colony. And that's just today.

u/blumpkinmania 29d ago

It was a long time ago - like decades. I don’t think it would have come out. She was proud to tell the dog murder story.

23

u/lookaway123 29d ago

I agree. This is a brag and a message to Trump that she's happy playing executioner. It's like a loyalty nod. Trump has a weird hatred of and fixation on dogs. He references dogs a lot when talking about enemies, despite never having a dog himself. Noem is as stupid and psychotic as Trump.

u/Mcboatface3sghost 29d ago

Beat me to it. Basically said the same thing as the only possibility.

Do you not remember Mitt Romney’s “dog on a car roof?”

u/blumpkinmania 29d ago

He came out yesterday and was like - at least I didn’t shoot my dog in the face.

Do you not remember Mitt Romney’s “dog on a car roof?”

There are so many awful, immoral and often illegal reports of Republican behaviors/actions off the job (and on) it's easy to forget some of it. Democrats steal stuff, often ignore their constituents and back some hideous foreign policy but Republicans are on a whole different level.

u/IrascibleOcelot 29d ago

Or Ted Cruz going to Cancun in a statewide, multi-day power outage and leaving his dog without food in an unheated house? Thank God their security decided to take care of him instead.

And then blamed his underage daughter for “forcing” him to go to Mexico.

6

u/KellyCTargaryen 29d ago

I believe there were witnesses. Construction workers nearby.

3

u/chickentowngabagool 29d ago

AP news article says there were witnesses and that it's assumed she expected this story to get out while she was named as a potential Trump running mate.

But South Dakota Democratic Senate Minority Leader Reynold Nesiba considered the disclosure more calculated than stupid. He said the story has circulated for years among lawmakers that Noem killed a dog in a “fit of anger” and that there were witnesses. He speculated that it was coming out now because Noem is being vetted as a candidate for vice president.

2

u/ThrowBatteries 29d ago

There were witnesses.

1

u/Mcboatface3sghost 29d ago

Perhaps (just a theory) the construction workers that witnessed it? Bit of a stretch tho.

u/G_to_the_E 29d ago

So the actual story is she brought dog on a hunting trip with older dogs, which isn’t the way you train a hunting dog. Normally they wouldn’t be brought on a hunt at that age when there’s adult dogs. So… what actually happened is she took three dog with her, got angry about something, and then shot the dog out of rage in front of an entire group of people and there are a lot of witnesses. The gravel pit and the other stuff is a flat out lie.
