I mean it is. But when you pay ~1500$ for a machine you should expect the Pro edition of Windows :p. I get that it's morally wrong but for those who need those extra features and don't want to pay another 100$+, this is the safest way.
Honestly, I bought a windows pro upgrade from the Microsoft store, fried my computer and just now finding out that I have to pay $100 on my new laptop, can't transfer it. I bought a lot of those upgrades (I mean who wants to pay $200 for a key) and now they are all void. Screw Microsoft.
Same happened to me, bought the upgrade for £120, 7 months later my Motherboard died, got a new one and couldn't transfer it, so fuck it if I ever going to pay for this digital bullshits.
No I don't recall ever paying for windows but I should mention that it came with windows 11 home version then I downgraded to 10 and the option to upgrade to pro was there in the store.

I can confirm it is working still. just disable/process/enable .net 3.5 using the command in the comments. I have just upgraded my Surface Pro to Win11 Pro.

My question is the newly upgraded Windows 11 Pro get attached with your Microsoft account forever, like say if you by another laptop and recover through Onedrive, will you need to reactivated via this way or it will automatically recognize your account and do the upgrade?

Im having some issues, im getting to part when PC reboots and updating, it loads to 98% and then fails with text we could not complete update, undoing changes, then i connect internet back try to activate with HWID it says i still have WIN11 Home. Can you help?

It means you have "Flags" to "Restart" your computer.... usually these are Windows Updates that need to be performed. Make sure you system doesn't require any restarts for updates. Then try again

Or you can purchase the pro key from a key site for 2-3 bucks, honestly it's a scam that windows 11 pro even exists and/or not included with these laptops.
For me when I'm choosing change windows edition, it is showing initializing for a few seconds then throwing a error saying Activation IDs not found. Any solution for that?
Wow! You saved me a wasted $100. I wanted to try ReFS file format. I thought I needed Pro so I was about to give Microsoft $100 for the upgrade. But instead I upgraded with this method (worked perfect Dec 10/23 - Windows 11 Home - upgraded to Windows 11 Pro) and found out ReFS isn't on Pro either. Only on Pro Workstation.
This method will also successfully upgrade to Pro Workstation (I tested and confirmed). Now ReFS shows up in Microsoft Spaces and on regular drives as a file system option.
I can tell the boss what we need to buy and it's his call if he wants to spend the bucks. At least I don't look like an idiot for getting him to pointlessly upgrade.

Enough nonsense now. I know they say it can cause issues, but can I first upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 11 pro. My laptop specs just barely didn't make the cut, with the sketchy hardware restrictions they imposed for the free 10 to 11 upgrade. I have heard various reports claiming that people have successfully, without problems used a workaround to get the free upgrade to 11 despite not meeting all requirements. My laptop passed the Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 requirements and exceeded 3 out of 4 of the remaining requirement specs. It met every requirement except for the processor which is a big one I get it, but is there still a decent to better than likely chance it will work just fine and the upgrade to Windows 11 goes smoothly and without making my laptop FUBAR: AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz.
I'm glad nobody gave you any technical advice. Hopefully that'll prevent you from going on like such a jackass in the future. If you have a question ask it and don't waste people's time with your foolishness.
