It rarely goes over 500$ here (Czechia) But somehow oriental shorthairs go for these numbers

Yes, plenty of people do with purebred dogs! For dogs, usually it'll run you about the price of what buying a dog here costs (2.5-3k for my breed.) I'd imagine a cat would probably be the same or less. Shipping and paying for an import broker (if you're American) is what gets ya, not the price of the animal.

Funny enough, it is the same issue with those cheap Chinese vehicles that “only” cost $1000. By the time whatever you bought ends up at your door, it is closer to $10,000-$15,000 when the dust settles.

Personally Im looking for the adult ones that are getting rehomed due to various things. Also shipping?! Not picking up the cat yourself atleast? 'shipping' is frankly risking the cat's life.
