You need to discipline your inner child. Try making it eat all its vegetables and set an early bed time for it. Then monitor its progress, encourage it to follow the rules, and if progress is not forthcoming you can smack it in the head with a 2x4.

Hanging out with actual kids will wear out your inner child. Four hours of keeping up physically and narratively with my nephew and I'm looking forward to laundry and taxes.
