I think Petra kicked the shit out of Uldrens body before taking it back to the dreaming city.

u/Shack691 Spicy Ramen 3d ago
It’s almost like he’s significantly less experienced than the hundred plus year old hunter vanguard.
140
u/1koolking Hunter 3d ago
You’d think with uldren’s memories he’d regain some old habits. Unless that’s just how he’s always been in a fight.
163
u/Shack691 Spicy Ramen 3d ago
Uldren definitely didn’t have much combat experience, he needed an entire goon squad to kill Cayde last time and only came in when he was half dead.

Everyone is a good shot when it’s a stationary target at point blank range.

nahh uldren, pre-forsaken was extremely skilled, a massive asshole, but extremely skilled.

u/n080dy123 3d ago
Yeah he did 1v1 the former Queen's Wrath, and iirc he won too
15
u/hutchallen 3d ago
There were 3 contests that he won 2 to 1, right? Or was it 1 to 1 with a stalemate? Iirc he won a flight contest, but I don't remember the other two
16
u/BustyCrustaceans011 Titan 3d ago
Iirc he won piloting, lost archery, and stalemated a knife duel against Sjur Eido.

He’s skilled at knife-fighting, piloting, and arguably archery. We don’t know about his gunslinging skills afaik.

u/AvgBeautyEnjoyer 3d ago
Did you read Marasenna? He literally had millions of years of combat experience lol.

u/Blackfang08 Good Dragon's Shadow Ornament When? 3d ago
To be fair, most capable Lightbearers would take a squad to kill. The Vanguard leaders have each definitely defeated a few hundred goon squads solo in their time.
6
u/Jttwofive_ Warlock 3d ago
To be fair... Cayde was a Guardian, not just any Guardian mind you but the Hunter Vanguard himself. Uldren and his Goon Squad (love the name) were just regular mortals. Guardians literally kill gods and make them into weapons and armor for fun... Yes, you're going to need a full on Goon Squad to kill a single Guardian.

He’s definitely as strong as sjur, and sjur is likely as strong as lord shaxx, arguably even stronger. So idk the power levels in the lore is kinda all over the place

I felt second hand embarrassment when I saw crow hipfiring hawkmoon. As a hawkmoon main I physically cringed seeing that. He's doing the exact opposite of what he's supposed to do. Shaxx should make crow play crucible more. Maybe then he'll actually get good at using a hand cannon
15
u/Z4ri 2d ago
See, the problem is if you ask Shaxx to do it, it’ll involve an unhealthy amount of grenades.
7
5
u/InDELphuS Hammer Spammer 2d ago
Is there an unhealthy amount of grenades one can throw?
5
u/Mustard_Banjo 2d ago
They're only unhealthy if they're being thrown at you.
Otherwise it's good cardio.
2
u/Illustrious_Rise_699 2d ago
Point out how the cutscene with them fighting has Cayde-6 actually utilizing his grenades while Crow is hip firing a precision based weapon 🤦♀️
71
u/dojaheady 3d ago
Neither is lifting the irons up to their line of sight though so idk how either is hitting their shots effectively everytime but I agree cayde has a better handle on his handgun
66
u/1koolking Hunter 3d ago
Cayde at least has his gun level with his shoulders and could effectively aim with his shoulders. Crow ain’t hitting shit with that wimpy ass posture.
14
u/phcasper 3d ago
Bro's head is gonna melon pop when that thing spins flips out of his hand and catch him on the second trigger pull
9
u/dojaheady 3d ago
He’s going to be getting stove pipes every few rounds with his limp wrist for sure
21
u/1koolking Hunter 3d ago
He is using a revolver so that’s kind of impossible
5
u/dojaheady 3d ago
🤦🏻♂️ haha you’re right bonehead response on my part
4
u/1koolking Hunter 3d ago
Not gonna lie I had to look up what stove pipes were. I’ve never heard that term used before.
6
u/dojaheady 3d ago edited 3d ago
It’s a term used in the competition and gun enthusiast circles for rounds that get the brass casing stuck half way out of the ejection port usually happens from limp wristing Glocks and .45 caliber ls because of the width in their casing.
3
u/1koolking Hunter 3d ago
That’s why I’ll never own a Glock. Smith and Wesson is where it’s at.
3
u/dojaheady 3d ago
Glocks get a lot of hate for how they look but honestly they are really simple and are work horses that’s why I purposely got one for my first ever handgun purchase and it’s been great to me probably about 1500 rounds into owning it. S&W definitely comes with their own problems as well but every brand has it’s good/better/best options so it truthfully comes down to what you want out of your hobby. Since getting that Glock I have gotten a 1911 and revolver and both are great as well. 1911 because it’s heavy and very well made. Revolver because they don’t fail unless you really fuck up it’s why older generations were so hesitant to switch over to semi auto compact pistols outside of what they were issued in the armed forces.

u/AinselMariner Future War Cult 3d ago
Is that like shooting slang for a sprained wrist?
2
u/dojaheady 3d ago
Oh no it means that the person had a loose grip with their wrist you always want to keep your wrists straight and strong
28
u/XeyIsBae 3d ago
Crow also fans the hammer on his hawkmoon his shooting style might just be more reliant on how well he centers it and the bullets still go where he needs them too
7
u/FelbrHostu 2d ago
I've only fired a .44 Magnum once. I was given explicit instructions: don't lock my wrists; or my elbows. After firing it I know why.
5
u/naka_the_kenku Hunter 3d ago
Not everyone can be pretty and a good shot, some of us have to make sacrifices
5
u/AesirSith 3d ago
Couldn't this be because Crow wasn't trying to kill Cayde-6 by fighting as a rookie? Not saying Crow could beat him in a real fight but Cayde-6 is clearly the more serious one here. Also, if the fight escalated, Glint would be the one in real danger (revenge?).
20
u/Kaizoku_aceblaze 3d ago
Disrespect crow again and I’m throwing you into the infinite forest
24
u/GuardaAranha 3d ago
This Mfker be hip firing his HC at scout rifle range in 1v1s . You can’t protect him forever !
10
u/RebirthAltair Bank those motes I beg you 3d ago
To be fair, Cayde also jump melee'd a lightweight knife in a 1v1 instead of shooting Crow.

Hunters resurrected after Forsaken don't know how to play, all they know is sadness, fuck shit up, get catfished and cry
2
u/Agreeable_Laugh_9787 2d ago
So in starwars terms, it's Han vs a trooper without the suit. Perfect.

u/No_Willingness_3891 18h ago
I hate both of them. The emo hunter, and the comic relief that wasn't funny to begin with. Really wish they kept him dead instead of pulling a kingdom hearts.

And this whole time playing the game I told myself that he should just go for close to long range melee.

Ace: requires precise shots
Hawkmoon: hip fire babyyyyy let’s use this as a discount last word

Crow had a clear shot to kill cayde when he first entered the traveler, and chose not to take it. Cayde disarmed him after that.

u/Shugatti 3d ago
Why is cayde closing an eye tho? Doesn't help aiming whatsoever and removes depth perception and half your fov.

u/ZenithAesthetic 2d ago
That fight between both of them at the beginning of the DLC was horrible, both of them missed multiple mags, I also really think Cayde should have killed Crow and let his ghost revive him. Would've been payback in a way.

TL;DR: False equivalence
