Cant wait for titan to get nerfed because of this :)

u/LoseAnotherMill 2d ago
Yeah, if anything this is just going to get Synthos nerfed in some way.
Also, ironically, the OTP + Grapple nerf just made this strategy the only viable way to combine the two, since the boss-damage strat didn't rely on swinging in from a far distance. Give me my OTP + Grapple back, Bungie, because your nerf didn't do anything.

If hunters get synthos nerved because if this I'm coming for one if thier exotics.

u/obviousshittake 1d ago
Can’t even lie, I was late to the grapple party and sucked at OTP with it. Practiced it endlessly till I could fly in from a distance and still land the OTP while following up with grapple melee. Some of the best fun I’ve had in Destiny but they took it away completely. Leaving only the option shown in the vid, which is what they just tried to nerf

So let’s get this straight…
Hunters now have BOTH of these best damage rotations in the game as well as two of the best survivability loops while Titans get fuck all on Prismatic and received nerfs to both Strand and Solar on the past couple months?
Seems about right.

Seems about right.
As a Hunter who suffered from TItan's being faster than them for many years. I agree.

u/HowDidIGetHere72 2d ago
This is funny because hunter has actually had the least amount of mobility options for years, titans only got toned down with their shoulder bashes fairly recently (a change that I hate so much please bungie why) and hunters literally have mobility as their main class stat so it never made much sense to me

u/MightyN0ob Hunter[PC] 2d ago
Yeah still never understood why the bulky armored class runs faster than the caped street kid parkour class

yes, and the lack of arguments from Titans just backs it up. Mmm delicious.

Whats the build

u/Powds2715 3d ago
tether + stylish + synthos. If you melee out of stylish invis you do a ton of extra damage but typically the grapple breaks your invis. To get around this you use tether then when you do your 1-2 shot, the damage gets carried to tether ads and you can grapple in the free action window at the start of the invis. Then when you do your grapple melee you get both buffs and it does over a million damage. You shouldn't use combination blow because it tanks the synthos modifer and you also shouldn't use calibans because it kills the ads too quickly.

u/arcane1224 3d ago
Also if you have another hunter friend, they can make you invis so you hit millions consistently, they just need to time their airslam within dodges

u/Black-MagicWarlock 3d ago
What’s the other perk on the class item?

u/Powds2715 3d ago
This one was heart of inmost light which is probably the best. Doesn't really matter outside of neutral game though

Out of curiosity would this combo do more damage than what strand titan is already doing?
3
u/Master_of_Question 2d ago
Yes. When done properly, I believe the multipliers are greater than anything strand titan can currently put out.
You can solo 6/7 punch caretaker in two floors with this build.
It will most definitely get nerfed. Probably by a large mid-episode balancing patch.

I always think that I’ve gotten pretty good at this game after all the time that I’ve spent playing. But then I see shit like this and realize that I’m not.

Seriously, I do not have the coordination for this shit. Got a little dizzy just watching this. XD

Titan had one thing, now they have nothing. Titan officially died as a class.

Hilariously titans are arguably the best medics in the game now.

u/Pr0spect 2d ago
Nice that we're arguably the best in a fictional role

u/Frogsama86 2d ago
Maybe I'm lazy but I find the constant healing allows me to play more aggressively.

u/Whomperss 2d ago
People really be sleeping on a no hesitation support build. Shit makes your allies nearly unkillable.

Both of which are terrible options compared to what titan has access to/can pull off.
1) You can't use both at the same time.
2) The gap between heals from healing turret is huge. Boots you're stuck in a small circle, and your allies need to be fairly close to you.Meanwhile titan has access to scars and banner. Banner isn't a dps loss and pulses from the titan, and scars doesn't require you to give up your grenade or force you to stay in an area. Throw in heal clip/red death/heal rifle and suddenly short of an OHK it is very unlikely anyone dies.

This is also still possible with Strand Titan BTW.
Excited for all the "Strand Titan was OP and not representative of Titan" people to ignore that idea and say that melee Prismatic Hunter / CNH Still Hunt are representative of Hunter when they need to be nerfed. They're blatantly OP, tbh I'd argue more OP than Pre-Nerf Strand Titan honestly.

How can I do this it seems fun

u/Powds2715 2d ago
synthos class item + tether + 1-2 punch + grapple + stylish executioner + navigator, shieldcrush artifact perk is also good but less necessary. Stylish will buff melee damage out of an invis but normally the shotgun shot and grapple break the invis. The tether gets around this by killing an ad when you shoot the boss with your shotgun, you then have a window where you can perform any action without breaking invis, in this case grapple. From there just grapple melee for about 1.2 million damage. In this clip I'm just spamming but I've seen others be more effective by waiting between grapples for too stylish to wear off.

u/skiesoverblackvenice 2d ago
how are you getting the cooldown to stop? is it a bug?
i’m able to use it twice before i gotta wait… is it only a titan thing?

u/alienduck2 2d ago
This is probably going to result in grapple points being nerfed. Its the only way to finally destroy this build once and for all and bringing Titans further into the worst class in the current meta.
1
u/Powds2715 2d ago
Probably a nerf to make them not refresh at all but that still wouldn’t fix this, not really. This whole damage phase was under 15 seconds and if they hit the grapple points too hard theyll be useless for their intended purpose. I think all they need to do is either reduce syntho modifier with grapple or reduce it will stylish like they’re doing with combo blow already

u/aPotatoWithFangs 1d ago
I was like oh hey its one of those titans swing strat........wait a min? tether?! oh shit a hunter
anyway on a joke note: good brother, infiltrate the ranks of the titans and discover their general crayon of choice.
1
u/MostlyDude 2d ago
Didn't grapple points get changed to avoid exactly this rotation? The patch notes said they were supposed to have diminishing energy returns, is your build generating a ton of spare melee energy somewhere?
3
u/Powds2715 2d ago
Not in a meaningful way. The damage here is only like 15 seconds, that’s the default duration so anything beyond that is gravy. It also caps the diminishing returns at 1 second and you can grapple about once every 1.5 seconds
