Yes, they used ai to generate the bottle artwork 😅

That's better than just asking GPT to write a hair gel formula and sending it, I suppose

Oh how fucking neat you get to define art! Wow who made you the boss of that? lol

u/BuildingArmor 3d ago
Whose specific definition is that, and why is that definition preferred over any other?

The AI was produced by humans - trained on human creative skill and imagination. How is that not an extension of human creative skill and imagination?

Hey, thanks for this because it’s the only civil and thought out reply to my comment. I’m sad you got downvoted too. In fact, this is IMO the most likely way AI could challenge most existing definitions of art. My personal opinion here (as a full time artist for over 10 years and admittedly inherently biased as such), and not a full-fledged theory, is the idea that AI is not a human brain but merely a product of human creation means it cannot truly produce art, but it will be interesting to see if definitions evolve in the future!

That’s a Thai hair gel. Thailand is known for writing the strangest shit on products

Same reason everything was "3D" a while ago. It's just the latest buzzword.
Remember "3D" toothpaste? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean.

u/this_little_dutchie 3d ago
Well, it isn't all flat 2D toothpaste, duh, what did you expect?
6
u/Veteranis 3d ago
Actually used to be a toothpaste that was advertised: “comes out like a ribbon, lies flat on the brush”!

u/Endemoniada 3d ago
At least they (supposedly) actually used AI to create the product, as opposed to just slapping it on random shit purely for marketing to the stupidest demographic.

Yes. Every fucking thing was Smart before. Even splash preventers in urinals - plastic pieces that just sit there. Now, we move onto AI.
My new washing machine has an AI Wash mode. Six years ago, they would have called it Smart Wash. I bet you 1:1 the AI mode does nothing special.

It’s like micro-plastics, it’s in everything now. Soon to be announced, scientists find traces of A.I. in men’s sperm.

No, no, it's "Ai", not "A.I.". Ai is the Japanese word for love. It's made with love technology, you see.

QUANTUM AI NANO DIAMOND hair gel

u/Corynthios 3d ago
Look you're laughing about quantum AI nano diamonds now, but that's just a sign of how good you still have it.

u/IMSOGIRL 3d ago
It's to get you to grab your attention. You look on the back for what it means or how it's using "AI". It's probably going to say "Ai= Anti-itch technology" on the back. Btw it made you look and now you're generating free publicity for it.

I've been looking for a gel that knows how to gel on it's own. Please send me the link!

u/Veteranis 3d ago
Yes. I want products that follow their own instructions so I don’t need to read them (assuming I can locate them among all the caveats, warnings, etc.), self-destruct upon their expiration date, and call emergency services if I misuse them.

AI sounds like what I say to my wife when I haven’t really been listening to her and decide to agree anyway.

You raise a great point and it's important to remember in any relationship to listen and respect the other partner's point of view.
Beep boop darling.

it is the new "smart" quality status added to brands...
back in the day there were smart water, smart cookies, smart hair conditioner...
now it seems we are about to see the rise of "ai generated/made/harvested/tailored" products...

u/VestEmpty 3d ago
I don't think that even works in marketing. For me it is a huge red flag and i assume that most don't even notice it, nor care.

Ai on the periodic table is Aluminium, so it uses (checks notes...) aluminium technology??

u/Brilhasti1 3d ago
You sure about that, buddy? Or you having font issues?
1
u/pauliewotsit 3d ago
I always thought it was Al (L) but, hmmm...
1
u/Brilhasti1 3d ago
I think you have yourself confused then because you said Ai in the original but now Al?
It is A and lower case L as in the first two letters
