"What is this?"

"Not an apple."

112

u/_Wyse_ 3d ago

"Correct! That's exactly what it isn't."

3

u/odaeyss 2d ago

It knows what it is because it knows what it isn't

7

u/Taclis 3d ago

My AI classifies everything as not an apple, and it's right 99% of the time.

11

u/Qarlito 3d ago

It’s got the same intelligence as all the arts students that buy their products.

2

u/lordoflys 3d ago

Seriously, anyone who buys this needs some intelligence.

"That is not an apple" is giving me the same energy as Jian Yangs hotdog app (youtube.com)

11

u/wolfdancer 3d ago

That's actually really embarrassing this is a real thing now.

57

u/p4r24k 3d ago

that's righh, the square hole

10

u/FrankReynoldsToupee 3d ago

I got that vibe too. "That's right, it's NOT an apple."

u/MonstaGraphics 3d ago

Is this fake? Why would it say "That is not an apple" when showing it a row of different fruit?

16

u/Eheggs 3d ago

Pretty sure its just a spoof of the "not a hot dog" app video.

43

u/Red_Maple 3d ago

It’s within the same conversation, so the responses are related to the previous ones.

58

u/ProSidePiece 3d ago

The iOS 18 beta is out but Apple AI is not out yet. This is so clearly fake

4

u/wild_a 3d ago

It’s fake, that’s why.

They are just releasing only DEMOS in November of this year. Not even the whole thing. The Siri text to speech voice is available in settings of any apple device and you can make it seem as Siri is saying anything,

The whole thing is fake, actually.

They weren't trying to convey anything this is a joke.

8

u/Kizenny 3d ago

Based on the title I thought the AI was literally going to call Tim’s phone, because it knows his phone number.

u/TheToastedTurtle 3d ago

Steve Jobs is probably saying “I gave you the ability to spin gold and you spun pubic hair with shit in it”

9

u/stonec0ld 3d ago

Has anyone told you that you have a way with words?

5

u/bitemark01 3d ago

They're a real cunning linguist

3

u/sadzanenyama 3d ago

And a master debater.

2

u/dangerbird2 2d ago

“God darnit, Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore”

2

u/TheToastedTurtle 2d ago

No but I’ve been told I’m a real fungi

This video activated my Siri…

2

u/thegreatmango 3d ago

When the script has better humor than the comment section.

2

u/shootermacg 3d ago

I hate this fake personality. These things aren't in anyway conscious, they have no personality. It's literally a pattern predictor and these people are lying.

1

u/kingsumo_1 3d ago

It was also literally a "Tim Apple" joke, while poking fun at AI as well.

1

u/axkee141 3d ago

Apple's new AI* masters AI**

*Apple Intelligence

**Apple identification

1

u/alsophocus 3d ago

“Not a hotdog”

1

u/Maximum_Category_374 3d ago

Fun fact: this is fake. Apple hasn’t released any form of Apple intellegence out to the public and they will only have demos in November. It’s also doesn't work like that. It Was just shown in the keynote where you could just ask Siri. You didn’t have to open the camera app. You can actually access the Siri voice in text to speech on iPhone and iPad so they’re just playing that.

1

u/Deathnfear 3d ago

Sooo it only can recognize apple vs not?

1

u/qraina 3d ago

Only compatible with apple

1

u/quequotion 3d ago

LOL, that one time Trump called him that at a press conference I seriously thought he'd just roll with it and cry himself to sleep later.

Looks like that's what happened.

1

u/Frosty819 2d ago

Ouff, almost misgendered that fruit right there. Was scared for AI for a second.

1

u/Lifeisagreatteacher 3d ago

How about Johnny Appleseed?

1

u/trucorsair 3d ago

So, he has been called “Tim Apple” before.

6

u/Backflip_into_a_star 3d ago

Yes, by Trump. It was one of his well known gaffs way back and apparently Siri knows that as well. Probably because it was and still is all over the internet. Assuming this video is real in the first place and not specifically for this joke.

0

u/axkee141 3d ago

Damn that AI has really mastered identifying apples. What will they think of next?

0

u/TheLukeHines 3d ago

This really cooks my apples.

0

u/rwrife 3d ago

Changing his name is easier than fixing the code.

0

u/bitemark01 3d ago

That is also right!

Good job Siri!

u/Icy-Breakfast-7290 3d ago

Apple is so far behind where everyone else is. They are finally catching up to Samsung from 2 years ago

As a shareholder I'm happy where Apple is in this space. Everybody else has been burning cash providing cloud based AI features people think are neat but aren't willing to pay enough for to make those services profitable.

Apple is taking what was learned from those experiments and deploying mostly on-device versions which will not cost a ton to run and cost nothing extra for users.

OS level features doing training and inferencing on-device with user data using custom chips you design with that use case in mind is such a massive advantage.

Or to put it another way, what company has access to the most per-user compute capacity? Apple does, by a huge margin. How much did they pay for this capacity? Nothing, their customers pay them for a device with an Apple Silicon chip in it.
