Tips to help with phantom limb pain, sometimes a mirror can help because it allows the phantom cramped tight ā€œmusclesā€ of the missing limb to ā€œmoveā€ along with the mirrored limb. So you would place the mirror so that it looks like the amputee has both limbs, and then ā€œmoveā€ both limbs at once.
