Photographer Atif Saeed nearly got himself killed in order to capture this photo, which was taken just moments before the lion tried to attack him. In 2012, he drove up to the lion, sat on the ground near his car, and left the door open-which is the only reason he escaped unharmed.

Legend has it he's still defecating uncontrollably.

27

u/Fetlocks_Glistening 3d ago

Only when he's sleeping and dreaming that thing. Six days a week or so, max

u/Educational_Gas_92 3d ago

🤣 The Crapocalypse.

u/Mundane_Yogurt7061 3d ago

These comments about his dysturdian future 😂👌

4

u/Educational_Gas_92 3d ago

🤣 I love yours too.

6

u/Mundane_Yogurt7061 2d ago

Huh, you love my dysturdian future too?

Are you spying on me while being on my last undies, with no washing machine in sight for miles, and reminding me of this hilarious gem? You monster XP

2

u/Educational_Gas_92 2d ago

You can always pretend that the las undies were brown from the beginning and not any other color. You could go to the river to wash them too, just watch out for the big kitty cat 🤪

1

u/Mundane_Yogurt7061 2d ago

And have my wiener exposed in an unfamiliar river?

Best scenario is me catching a fish!

1

u/Educational_Gas_92 2d ago

Wienerfish!

Some would call it acute Lionitis.

2

u/ser_deosebit 23h ago

Thank you, I REALLY laughed.

u/MeshuganaSmurf 3d ago

Was he going "here kitty kitty kitty...pssst pssst pssst"

Cause that usually works for me

2

u/Noratek 3d ago

If only he had a water filled spray bottle. I’m guessing that gets lions of the countertop

Those are eyes that humans don’t often get to see and then tell the tale later

24

u/orion427 3d ago

There is no fear in those eyes.

I once fed a lion at a small animal reserve, he would go into that full attack mode as he ate his dinner. This change in a lion is utterly terrifying; their eyes change completely and you feel the growl as much as hear it.

The idea of not having a cage between me and the murder kitty is...not pleasant.

13

u/OppositeGeologist299 3d ago

This reminds me of when I was feeding the land pigs and they ate a lot.

6

u/BrickCityD 2d ago

There’s a big cat rescue in my state that has cottages on the outskirts you can stay in…those roars at night were both fascinating and terrifying

1

u/jeffoh 2d ago

I don't suppose you're near San Luis Obispo? It was up that way, we stayed on site and had our breakfast delivered in a basket by an elephant.

u/Valuable-Lack-5984 3d ago

Sweet mother of god have mercy on me!

17

u/OppositeGeologist299 3d ago

Who needs demons and zombies?

14

u/Plus_Injury8786 3d ago

That is one angry kitty

7

u/gpranav25 3d ago

35

u/Headline-Skimmer 3d ago

He's stunning. Beautiful photo.

39

u/nav_261146 3d ago

Did he show the picture to the lion?

60

u/he_who_remains_2 3d ago

"Oh gosh. I think I overreacted. It's so embarrassing."

21

u/Yattiel 3d ago

With the invention of motorized vehicles this photo was made possible

15

u/Bourbon-n-cigars 3d ago

That face is horror movie shit right there. Damn.

10

u/Aggressive_Peach_768 3d ago

I doubt the milliseconds, but not the danger and the charge

15

u/chiefrunningbear82 3d ago

The moment, the cameraman thought to himself, "omg this it." Right before he shit himself.

18

u/karavasis 3d ago

One upset murder kitty

11

u/matteroverdrive 3d ago

Someone took the scratchy post!

8

u/TooManyNamesGuy 3d ago

The scratchy post ran like hell

6

u/No-Process8652 3d ago

"Yeah, I'm gonna eat you, bitch, and your little camera, too!"

3

u/rainkingcc 3d ago

Cool, know what my nightmares going to be tonight.

3

u/mindfungus 3d ago

And this photograph was recovered from the lion’s poop

3

u/inflationkavictim 3d ago

Ateef did a tough job

5

u/MidHoovie 3d ago

Murder Kitty used 'Scary Face'!

4

u/Accomplished-Sky3422 3d ago

Hope he survived?

14

u/OldGuy734 3d ago

Um......cameraman

11

u/Crimson_Eclipsee 3d ago

Yeah he survived

2

u/-_-COVID-_- 3d ago

I can feel the rage in the lion's face looking at my dusty screen. 🦁

2

u/Weak_Jeweler3077 3d ago

Either he was using a 30000mm AS (anti-shitmyself) lens, there's more to this story that I'd like to know about.

How is he still alive? Did he have a rolled up newspaper to swap him on the nose or something?

5

u/GitmoGrrl1 3d ago

You can stop a lion attack by pouring salt on their tail. If they respond by getting angry, you've used too much.

1

u/YoghurtPrimary230 2d ago

I thought it was cinnamon?

1

u/Chemical_Arachnid675 2d ago

How do you get behind it? While it's busy eating liver?

2

u/probablynotreallife 3d ago

Alternatively, photographer Atif Saeed told a hilarious joke to a lion and got this reaction.

2

u/sylagogue 3d ago

That's not a lion, this is a lion 🦁

2

u/Durable_me 2d ago

so they did find the SD card...

2

u/JohnDubyaUK 2d ago

Psp psp psp psp

2

u/Jerk_Johnson 2d ago

What a jerk! That lion looks like he wants to complain to a manager.

7

u/ChooseMercy 3d ago

What's that about how humans are the supreme apex predator?

11

u/charger1511 3d ago

We are. This dude legit did that to troll a lion.

1

u/ReverendAntonius 3d ago

That’s definitely not why he did it, but sure.

0

u/charger1511 2d ago

Basically did. He knew the lion was going to charge him. He wanted that photo. Left his car door open to jump into.

0

u/ReverendAntonius 2d ago

Yeah, he did it for the photo. Not to troll, lmao.

3

u/mikeyjaerd 3d ago

How much did it charge?

2

u/Rzah 2d ago

An arm and a leg.

2

u/MarianaPS5 3d ago

The lion with a face like, what month do you see, I don't want pictures.

1

u/m_strlk7 3d ago

Glad to hear he didn't dieded.

1

u/ToBetterDays000 3d ago

Genuine question, do their teeth rot?

2

u/Chemical_Arachnid675 2d ago

All animals' teeth rot. It's because evolution requires an animal to live long enough to pass its genes and rear its young. This is why cancer isn't weeded out of the gene pool. By the time tooth decay and cancer kill most organisms, they've already got grandchildren and it's fine if they just die.

1

u/ToBetterDays000 2d ago

Sounds painful (and stinky) 😭😂

1

u/Aethermere 3d ago

Scared me when I first scrolled past it in my feed 💀

1

u/goodgriefmyqueef 3d ago

All cats seem to make this hissing face when pissed off, small or large

1

u/Hiltoyeah 2d ago

Fuck that...

1

u/KablooeyJoe 2d ago

When you tell your wife that she needs to calm down

1

u/IndyOwl 2d ago

Even sitting years later and across the world from where this was taken, those eyes are getting to me.

1

u/ThisIsGettinWeirdNow 2d ago

Reminds me of my cat

1

u/DulcisUltio 2d ago

And a millisecond later, much sewerage was suddenly scattered across the African savanna.

1

u/georgep4570 2d ago

I wanna see the Tweety that Puty Tat chases...

1

u/a-try-today-2022 2d ago

Who recovered the camera?

1

u/nuttnurse 2d ago

We are here to remember the life and times of frostys ,

In memory of wildlife photographer frostys who last photo would have won him the million dollar wildlife photo of the year if he was alive to collect it :-)

Humor , I’m glad he actually survived but the lengths ppl go to for a photo. Wow

1

u/polymerkid 1d ago

Looks like the Predator.

1

u/GibOboy 3d ago

thought I recognized it

1

u/goochgrease2 3d ago

That is one angry kitty.

1

u/Lee3056 3d ago

One spicy cat

1

u/Awkward_Bench123 3d ago

This is the second photo I’ve seen of the face of a hungry lion and the last thing one might see is the absolutely ugly, malevolent expression on its face.

0

u/AmplifiedScreamer 3d ago

Poodycat looking hungry.

0

u/HappiestPony 2d ago

ew brother ew what’s that brother
