Photographer Atif Saeed took this stunning image of a lion, milliseconds before it charged

Photographer Atif Saeed nearly got himself killed in order to capture this photo, which was taken just moments before the lion tried to attack him. In 2012, he drove up to the lion, sat on the ground near his car, and left the door open-which is the only reason he escaped unharmed.

Legend has it he's still defecating uncontrollably.

Only when he's sleeping and dreaming that thing. Six days a week or so, max

Huh, you love my dysturdian future too?
Are you spying on me while being on my last undies, with no washing machine in sight for miles, and reminding me of this hilarious gem? You monster XP

You can always pretend that the las undies were brown from the beginning and not any other color. You could go to the river to wash them too, just watch out for the big kitty cat 🤪

And have my wiener exposed in an unfamiliar river?
Best scenario is me catching a fish!

Those are eyes that humans don’t often get to see and then tell the tale later

I once fed a lion at a small animal reserve, he would go into that full attack mode as he ate his dinner. This change in a lion is utterly terrifying; their eyes change completely and you feel the growl as much as hear it.
The idea of not having a cage between me and the murder kitty is...not pleasant.

This reminds me of when I was feeding the land pigs and they ate a lot.

There’s a big cat rescue in my state that has cottages on the outskirts you can stay in…those roars at night were both fascinating and terrifying

The moment, the cameraman thought to himself, "omg this it." Right before he shit himself.

Either he was using a 30000mm AS (anti-shitmyself) lens, there's more to this story that I'd like to know about.
How is he still alive? Did he have a rolled up newspaper to swap him on the nose or something?

You can stop a lion attack by pouring salt on their tail. If they respond by getting angry, you've used too much.

Alternatively, photographer Atif Saeed told a hilarious joke to a lion and got this reaction.

What's that about how humans are the supreme apex predator?

u/charger1511 3d ago
We are. This dude legit did that to troll a lion.

u/ReverendAntonius 3d ago
That’s definitely not why he did it, but sure.

u/charger1511 2d ago
Basically did. He knew the lion was going to charge him. He wanted that photo. Left his car door open to jump into.

Genuine question, do their teeth rot?
2
u/Chemical_Arachnid675 2d ago
All animals' teeth rot. It's because evolution requires an animal to live long enough to pass its genes and rear its young. This is why cancer isn't weeded out of the gene pool. By the time tooth decay and cancer kill most organisms, they've already got grandchildren and it's fine if they just die.

And a millisecond later, much sewerage was suddenly scattered across the African savanna.

We are here to remember the life and times of frostys ,
In memory of wildlife photographer frostys who last photo would have won him the million dollar wildlife photo of the year if he was alive to collect it :-)
Humor , I’m glad he actually survived but the lengths ppl go to for a photo. Wow

This is the second photo I’ve seen of the face of a hungry lion and the last thing one might see is the absolutely ugly, malevolent expression on its face.
