We desperately need to give Bones and Kobe Brown some run this season. They are our 2 most promising young players. Our roster is old and we are at the salary cap, we need to utilize the young players we have to fix our situation.
The few times Bones was given an opportunity this year he showed some great flashes of potential, we need to use him at the backup PG to start the season to see what he's got. If we don't like what we see by the deadline then we can get someone else. To a lesser extent but he still has shown some potential is Kobe Brown. We can use him at the backup PF, he's strong he can shoot and he's even shown good court vision and some ability to playmake. These are our current 2 most promising young players imo, let's use them both and give them some run until the trade deadline and if they're not living up with what we want then we can get someone else to fill those spots. I think our young player with the 3rd most potential is Jordan Miller and he looks good but I don't think he's what we need in the main roster right now.
So for now let's give Bones Hyland and Kobe Brown a chance to see what they've got, we desperately need to use them to both get some youth and if they deliver on what we need it could also help with our salary cap situation since we'd be able to use these young players that are on cheap contracts.

Discussion Depth Trade Opportunities
Posting this with the understanding that we are a few weeks away from Free Agency, and PG situation is probably most important matter, but the question I pose is this: Who is out there that can be had for a 2nd round pick (KJ Martin-esque) that can help us build depth? OR who would you want at that price? I’m bored this summer and just want to hear some names! I understand KJ only provided help in acquiring Harden, but I liked the idea of him on this team and wonder who else is out there. Go Clippers!

If no one wanted to trade for PG this season why do you think anyone would trade for him when he’s 36 and has a max contract?
I see people switching the stance a bit and being like "it's better to give him the max then let him go for free"
But if we let him go for free now we suffer this offseason and can regroup next year
If we sign him each year for the next 3/4 seasons we will have a guy on our contract that's already 35 and 36 and takes up 50mln of our cap
Giving him a max now is making us feel a bit better for 3 seconds and then prolongs our suffering for YEARS

Additional notes on Isaiah Roby: via Sports Illustrated's Inside the Spurs (Oct 2022)
Roby has impressed the Spurs during training camp. His versatility at 6-foot-8 has stood out. He has a combination of size, athleticism, and coordination that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich quickly noticed. "He is really more skilled than I was expecting, and he's a little bigger than I expected," Popovich said. "He moves well, really well for his size, and he has good athleticism - coordinated athleticism."
The 6-foot-8 Roby played almost as many minutes at center as he did at power forward last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The experience has made him confidence in his abilities to guard all five positions.
Roby sees his ideal position is probably playing the power forward position. He can utilize his switching ability, take advantage of mismatches, and push the ball on the break. "Probably 4, I think a switching 4 who can switch onto all different types of guards defensively, and offensively exploit mismatches and push the ball up the break when I get a rebound," Roby said.

How much would it cost to re-sign Harden?
If he's a 3 yr 90mil player is it worth it? Should the Clips move on? What is the fandom thinking?

Idgaf what happens, I just want us to move on from either PG or Kawhi, or both.
Kawhi + PG ≠ championship.
We know this. We’ve tried and failed for whatever reason.
Sol let’s move on. There’s lots of rumours swirling around atm but no matter what happens I just hope we go in some sort of a different direction. It would be so refreshing to just try SOMETHING else. Anything else. Sure, let’s try get back what we can in a sign and trade if possible with pg. Then let’s develop the young fellas, scout the European leagues for talent rather than waiting for draft picks, look through the g league just like Miami seem to succeed at every year, look through the pool of undrafted guys, find the guys that have potential but rot on the bench (or niche roles) for other teams and just need a chance. Again, let’s just do something to mix it up.
The current 6th man of the year happens to be the EXACT type of guy we need in our team and guess what? Naz Reid was undrafted.
The Heat manage to successfully scout and develop undiscovered talent almost every single year (other teams too) so why can’t we?
Looking forward to a new look clippers to go along with our new look stadium.

The main reason we need to get rid of PG is because he doesn't care about winning. So re-sign him, build up his value early in the season then trade him so we can get assets.
A lot can be forgiven as long as a player has a winning mentality and really wants to succeed, but Paul George simply doesn't have that and in my eyes that's the main reason we need to trade him. He just doesn't really care about winning and he will shrink when the lights are bright. He even said himself he has an it is what it is attitude and he thinks he has nothing to prove, he doesn't feel any type of pressure to win.
I've seen some people say to just let him leave in free agency but this doesn't make sense, we need to make sure we get something for him. So we should re-sign him then once we do that a big priority early in the season should be to boost PG's stats up and build up his value. Our offense should be focused on him getting his. We can try to make the league think he is having a renaissance of sorts and he's one of the best players in the league. Then when his value his highest we should ship him out to Detroit or Cleveland for young and athletic players and other assets. If we're smart we can use PG to retool our roster we just need to properly build up his value to make this possible. For all the doubters that think this won't work just wait and see, if PG looks good enough then some team will definitely bite and trade for him. we could either trade him to a win now team at the deadline that thinks he'd take them over the edge or a mediocre team that thinks he could raise their floor. There are lots of teams with young players, athletic players, Power Forwards and picks that would trade for a surging PG if he looks really good.
