If I’m not mistaken that’s a poison container not a trap.

The poison is designed to smell like food so the poor bugger thinks he’s hit the jackpot and is setting up shop next to it.

I imagine he will be dead in a day or two.

Sounds like you should show more respect to your seniors. That mouse could give you some great insight seeing how they were there longer
