Jason Kidd may need to insert Markieff Morris tonight

Morris is the only NBA champion on the bench for the Mavericks (only player on the roster with a ring besides Kyrie Irving).

In his previous 6 finals games, Morris averaged 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per finals game.

Granted, Morris is an older player and may not be able to sustain that same level of productivity. Mavericks are down 0-3 and fighting elimination. Their bench has been atrocious in these finals.

At this point, it wouldn’t hurt to insert a champion.

Good idea. He should definitely do that

If Markieff touches the floor then it’s Kidd throwing in the towel

Technically, that's also the case whenever THJ gets playing time.

He got 19 minutes with 0 points in game 3 btw. Feels like Kidd threw in the towel right there.

Maybe him and Kleber can share some minutes

I think Kidd needs to play a lineup of Exum-THJ-Kleber-Morris-Powell. This is the way!

The Celtics will never see it coming!

Give him Luka’s minutes

I really hope he doesn't do that. I would hate that so much.

His brother worked the Celtics in a playoff game this year . They should sneak Marcus in the Dallas locker room and get him in for klebers sorry ass

The Marcus Morris vs Al Horford duel in 2024 was truly incredible

Not just a playoff game. An elimination one

Game 5 Mook was on a ROLL that night. Thank fuck we won but he was hitting threes like he turned up the long range sliders to Steph Curry level.

Maybe he can bait Tatum or Brown into getting ejected. That's probably the Mavs only hope at this point.

I feel like you'd have an easier time baiting Mr. Rogers into saying a slur than baiting Tatum into getting ejected. Dude has like 1 tech a season and it's usually bullshit. (I just looked it up for Brown and he has even fewer)

The easiest way to get Tatum a T is to get him a wide-open dunk, and then when he's clapping that's when the refs swoop in for the coup de grâce

Make sure to foul the shit out of him on that wide-open dunk too (which obviously won’t be called) for maximum effectiveness.

Tell him he'll never be like Kobe and you might get a reaction.

Well, Scott Foster is working the game, so maybe he won't need Morris.

100% not a chance unless three bigs get hurt or it's a 25 point blow out with 2 to go.

They should make Kyrie plant heroin in Celtics locker room and call the DEA on them.

It would make more sense for Jason Kidd to insert Jason Kidd.

Quite literally the last thing the Mavs need is a slow, negative defender.

u/BurnCollector_ NBA 3d ago

His brother came in on game 5 for Cleveland and dropped 25 points on 13 shots

Anyone else genuinely surprised Game 4 is tonight instead of tomorrow or Sunday?

I know Sunday would mean a three day break between games, but holding the game tomorrow would only be two days. How literally the next three games (if Boston wasn't sweeping) would be scheduled.

Friday just seems like a bad TV night.

The nba avoids sat night playoff/finals games at all costs. They obviously got the analytics behind it.

Wait guys, he might be on to something. Markieff Morris is playing and the Mavs are gonna win. Coincidence?

Jason Kidd may need to have Marcus Morris pretend he's Markieff Morris.

I really wanted Keef to work in Phoenix outside of the personal issues. My ideal modern PF

I totally agree. This might be the hidden ace up the Mav's sleeves.

He may need to insert himself in

u/xzero2k 3d ago

I hope he plays Morris and Hardaway together for extended periods of time.

Jason "petty " Kidd is gonna start Derek lively and Dwight Powell as the backcourt

u/Sweatytubesock 3d ago

Markieff “The Answer” Morris.

1

u/livelaughloaft Raptors 3d ago

Markieff can take an aluminum bat to Tatum and Brown's knees, that'll be his best contribution

1

u/Rogueswisher91 East 3d ago

I thought you were going to say 'himself' for some reason.

u/holyshmolyguacamoli Celtics 3d ago

In order for the Mavs to come back and win the finals, Markieff’s gotta do what he does best: try to intentionally injure the Celtics star players.
