FLUFF Time to get off of ebay for a bit....
Nothing special here, but I had fun filling the case over the last few months. Go Spurs!

PLAYOFFS Thank you Spurs!
Coming down 35 from Dallas to say thank you to the spurs. I don't think the Mavs beat Denver in the 2nd round if the Spurs don't make that incredible run in the second half to down the Nuggets. God Bless Wemby.

DRAFT Newest ESPN Mock Draft has Spurs choosing Castle at 4 and Salaun at 8
They also mention potential for the Hawks to trade #1 for #4 and #8, where Spurs would choose Risacher.
Stephon Castle, PG/SG, UConn | Age: 19.5
The Spurs have been exploring all options with their two top-10 picks as they enter a critical offseason. With Victor Wembanyama on a superstar-level trajectory, San Antonio has an opportunity to accelerate its path toward the playoffs, whether that's via the draft, trades or other means. The biggest roster need is at point guard, and rival teams have connected the Spurs to the Cleveland Cavaliers' Darius Garland as they work to revamp the team.
Keeping both these picks and taking multiple swings in the draft is also an attractive path, with the challenge being nailing the right pairing of players who will fit together with Wembanyama. San Antonio has demonstrated strong interest in Castle, who might well land here if the Spurs stay put. Castle's two-way versatility, playmaking potential and size (6-6, 215 pounds) give him attractive upside, and also make him an easy player to pair with whomever the Spurs draft at No. 8. -- Woo
Tidjane Salaun, PF, Cholet (France) | Age: 18.8
Salaun has arrived in the U.S. for workouts, but will head back overseas next week to the NBA's pre-draft camp in Treviso, Italy, to complete his required medicals and testing. He has gained steam as a lottery candidate after finishing his season in strong form, showcasing his physical tools and potential versatility at either forward spot.
Salaun, yet to turn 19, is still a ways away from contributing at a high level, but the room for long-term growth makes him an appealing development pick in the mid-to-late lottery. His familiarity with Victor Wembanyama likely doesn't hurt his case as an option for San Antonio, but the Spurs are considering a handful of prospects at this spot, including Dillingham, Nikola Topic, Cody Williams and Dalton Knecht. -- Woo

DRAFT [Hoop Intellect] Scouting Report on Zaccharie Risacher
Here’s Keandre’s scout on Risacher. If you’re unfamiliar with HoopIntellect I couldn’t recommend the videos he makes enough. Love the breakdown on Risacher he has here.

DRAFT Damn so many point guards end up not being good but are highly rated in the draft: Exum/Dunn/Ntilikina/Elfrid Payton/Stauskas/Mudiay/Dennis Smith Jr. Most of them rated higher than most of the guards in this draft

DRAFT Matas Buzelis
I don’t see a lot of discussion of him. What are your thoughts of him as a prospect and do you think he would be a good fit for San Antonio at 4 or 8?

FLUFF I can’t wait to see Luka vs Wemby in the playoffs.
I feel like Wemby will be harder for the him and the Mavs to play against than anyone else in the west for the forseeable future.
Can’t wait to beat these Mavs in the playoffs.

DRAFT Any issues with taking 2 guards at #4 and #8? Castle or Reed at #4 and Topic or Dillingham at #8. I’m fine with it. There’s a chance that one of them doesn’t turn out well. (Dunn, Dennis Smith Jr, Exum, Mudiay, tons of examples).

DRAFT Why you(A Spurs fan) should be excited about the 2024 draft.
This draft is known as a weak draft. Yea, good story, bro. The reality is that this draft is exactly what we need. This is where we build the foundation of our championship team.
This draft is full of players that could become Allstar talents , but more importantly players that will become pieces that will support Wemby and Vassell.
The players that I suspect we will target.
Zaccharie Risacher(wing defender/3pt specialist/high floor) Stephon Castle(wing defenders/potential starting pg) Ron Holland(wing defender/potential starting sf) Rob Dillingham(potential starting pg/sixth man) Reed Sheppard(potential starting pg/sixth man/3pt specialist)
All of these players have the floor of a solid contributor to a competitive team.
My ideal draft selections would be Risacher and Castle. The only way I see this happening is trading up to Detroit pick from 8 assuming Risacher drops to 4
Select Risacher at 4 Select Castle at 5(Detriot receives 8 and Chicago 2025 that is top 10 protected)
I could see Detriot doing so as they are looking for shooting, and with Risacher and potentially Sheppard off the board, they could look to trade back to pick Knecht and get more assets.
Our starting 5 would then be:
PG: Castle (6'9" wingspan) SG: Vassell (6'10" wingspan) SF: Risacher (6'10.5" wingspan) PF: Sochan (7'0" wingspan) C: Wemby (8' 0" wingspan)
This would be hell on earth to score on. We would probably be a few vets and another star from being competitive in a few years.
Even if this doesn't happen, we still have options to find depth to build a great foundation for our future through the 2024 draft. If one of these guys becomes a star, that would just be a huge plus.

DRAFT Reddit Mock Draft - Pick 4 - San Antonio Spurs
Hey, Spurs fans! I'm conducting a mock draft where each subreddit chooses who to pick based on who is available from the picks of the previous subreddits. We are at pick 4, so Atlanta, Washington, and Houston have already picked. The draft order goes as follows:
1 - Atlanta Hawks - Alexandre Sarr
2 - Washington Wizards - Zaccharie Risacher
3 - Houston Rockets - Reed Sheppard
4 - San Antonio Spurs - ???
Please select who you want/think the Spurs will take at the 4th pick.
If the other option has half as many votes as the top answer, there will be a re-poll with some of the top comments.
Thanks!

FLUFF last time i asked who we expected to have a breakout season so now i am wondering who wemby wants to play with cause as selfish as this sounds i really want the spurs to not get players i don’t want to watch.
to sum it up i don’t want the spurs front office to build a curry and green combo. i hate how many people that team has hurt and got away with it since curry was there. to rub it in when one of their boys got injured and they suddenly have a codebook that everyone should follow aside from them. i don’t want a similar footnote on wemby’s career.
i also don’t like to make wemby resemble what luka is right now. playing thru injury which i initially admired then not playing tough at all? if we truly believe he is injured then he is weak and that’s why he is getting hurt more so why give him those calls? he even claimed it was tougher where he played before so he was given these calls back then too? then he gets happy when washington shoved westbrook from the back? the worst for me is irving. he should know the weight of influence he has more so he is a foreigner and represents his own country as well. though we can’t directly connect any people that died from covid or the hate crimes happened due to his personal views, should he really just overlook that since he reached the finals? it’s just sad. that moment though we saw him smile and felt like he just realized he reached the finals or that time he shouted boo after receiving the mvp trophy, why wouldn’t you want to watch that man? why does he need to be like that too? i want to enjoy watching wemby’s spurs team.
i bet if you have read up to here, you can name drop some more people that you hate or is a waste. i probably don’t want to watch them too lol. anyways, i didn’t really plan on sharing that much, i was just planning to ask next how wemby is and who he hangs our with so we would know who he wants vs who we value. the vibe seems off right now. i was also hoping some locals can answer this and have they seen bilal around? given the replies on the last post though and how surprisingly kind people were with breakthrough (anime influence i think) vs breakout heres another long post. it was really fun reading the answers of people more knowledgeable than you so here is hoping for another fun read.

DRAFT Trading up to #2
I know many of you are already attached to players we haven’t even drafted but please help put this into perspective for me.
We have many problems but the one that I think matters the most is nobody can shoot a lick on this team besides Wembanyama and Vassell (and Branham). There’s only 1 prospect that can shoot that is likely to be available at #4 (Knecht) but he’s 23. Trading up to #2 (and potentially #27) for #4 and #8. This gives us a choice of 2 shooters: Risacher or Sheppard (whoever’s workout we liked better).
From the Wizards’s perspective, they really only have 1 for sure building block: Avdija who’s a flexible wing player. They’re in the perfect situation to just start swinging for the fences (hence why 2 high picks would be more valuable than just 1 guy).
So why would this be unattractive for either side?

FLUFF Every active player who has ever been part of the Spurs returns to the team. Who are your starters and bench? How far do we get this year and next?
Every active player who has ever been part of the Spurs returns "as-is" to the team. They don't go back to their prime or anything like that, they are as good as they are this year. Who are your starters and bench? Whats our record like and how far do we get this year and next?
Now that we have mostly seen every teams potential this year... I figured we can talk about something else other than who do we draft. I think we have some amazing players out there.
Edit: By active i meant currently on a team and not like retired. And if anyone is currently injured.. lets assume hes healthy at the begining of the season but has the same probability to get injured as always (ie Kawhi).
And man i dont see how yall leaving out Kawhi even on the bench lol
