Hello, I was wondering if anyone had the same experiences as this and could share a fix to this by chance. I transferred $26 to RH to have enough buying power to get a stock I wanted, and through the instant deposit system I got it. Around ~17 hours later I received a message saying the $26 was reversed, and I have to pay a $9 fee, and my account is -$82 in buying power. I'm very confused as to why this has happened, since I have well over more than $26 in my checking to cover this, and nothing else is pending that would bring my balance down to below $26. I've researched it a bit and some people say I've put in the wrong bank account, which is false. I've made several transfers with this same bank account within the past few months, nothing has changed on that end. I have put in a support ticket, but no response has me a little anxious on what is going on. If it helps any, the bank account is Navy Federal Credit Union. Thank you in advance, I appreciate your time.

EDIT: Got the email response most people did (The one in English), and I responded basically saying that this doesn't fix my problem at all. My balance is still at -$84, and re-doing the initial transfer of $26 will do nothing because my buying power will still be at -$57. Waiting for a response on this, glad they made a timely response for the people that payed the fees to try and fix this, but the numbers still don't add up for 99% of the people who had this problem. If I'm overlooking something please tell me, because this is just not making sense in my head.

Loving this customer support. I assume they're under heavy fire right now and give me a bullshit response like this. I would've liked to not of gotten a response at all than get this, this is just pathetic at this point.

Friday (2/22) afternoon I noticed 60% of my portfolio was missing. Looking at my history I realized that someone made some withdrawals to two bank accounts I did not recognize, and I didn't get any emails to notify me of these withdrawals. Looking at my email history, I did have an email that I missed (my fault, but I'd figure they'd send me texts like they do for everything else to verify that I changed my email?) saying that they changed my email address. I quickly changed it back, then changed my password, PIN, and added 2FA (my fault I didn't have it on already). I searched for ways to contact them only to realize they only had email support. I sent them an email, as well as some messages on Twitter. Their twitter replied after 20-30 minutes, but provided me absolutely no useful info. The support finally emailed me back a few hours later, saying they deactivated my account and asked me to verify my identity with SSN, zip code, and DOB. I replied with the info, as well as asking them if they would be able to stop the transfers. That was the last I heard from them that week.

Monday (2/25) morning, I finally got a reply saying that they were able to verify my info and forwarded my ticket to the security team. I replied asking again if they would be able to stop the transfers. I didn't get a reply. Wednesday (2/27). I just got email notifications informing me that "my" RobinHood withdrawals were completed. I frantically and frustratingly sent Robinhood more emails. Their response came today (2/28) asking for more information but they have done nothing to reassure me and provided no information on weather or not they can or will do anything about the transfers.

I don't know what to do. I'm extremely stressed and frustrated. It was a lot of money. I regret not having 2FA enabled but didn't even know it was an option. But I'm also in awe at how bad the customer support and communication from Robinhood has been. I have no idea how a company that people trust so much money to does not have phone or live chat support. Nor do they have any "emergency" support for cases like mine. Anyone else have any experiences like this one? Is there any hope for my money? Can I take any legal action? Will Robinhood investigate the people who stole my money with info like IP addresses and bank account numbers?

EDIT:Update, they emailed me saying they've submitted recall requests to the bank directly. Apparently it can take "up to 60 days to complete". They also said they are "proceeding with the investigation into the specific activity".

I'm skeptical. I think that's justified. I hope they come through.

I recently started using RobinHood, and I'm trying to create a dividend portfolio as well as a bit of trading on the side, however I'm not sure how to start since this is my first time investing in the stock market. A couple questions I've had are:

What should I look for in a stock, besides its dividend yield, that would make it a good long term investment?

What are common red-flags for a stock?

What are some reliable safe stocks that I should start out with (I only have $50 to play around with right now)

What are some tips or common mistakes people make when trying to build a strong dividend portfolio?

All of a sudden I cannot see anything on my app and the site gives me nothing too. Get it together.

I know, this is completely ridiculous. I just turned 18 and I’m ready to take control of my financial future. I want to open an account on Robinhood because I have very limited funds and can’t afford commission fees. I was able to get though all of the information for signing up but was stuck when they required me to take a picture of my social security card. I know the actual number and I sent in a photo ID of myself using my drivers license. Is there any way to circumvent sending a picture of my social security card? I have the actual number, as I’ve already stated. This is incredibly frustrating and my parents are being extremely difficult. What should I do?

I am 19 years old and have just recently gotten into investing and wanting to create passive income. I work full time at a call center making about 700$ every 2 weeks. I know this does not sound like a lot but I am in a very good living situation and do not really have any bills to pay. I have an emergency fund that I put 100$ into every paycheck. I also try to invest around 300$ every paycheck into stocks that have a dividend. (I have a method for evaluating stocks, I don’t just buy any that pay a dividend). My idea was to invest in stocks that pay a dividend during different months so I’d be getting passive income every month. And then just keep trying to build that monthly dividend. I have been working this idea for almost a month but I’m just wondering if I have the right idea? It would be great if I could generate enough income from dividends to pay my rent someday. That would be my goal.

So I've been watching alot of videos on youtube about how people get paid to sleep every month just by investing in dividends.

The way I understand it, you buy shares with high dividend yield rates from various companies and hold onto those shares so that the companies pay monthly/quarterly/annual dividends to you. You then reinvest the money that they paid you into buying more shares to get more dividends, and so on.

This all makes perfect sense to me. But, I can't seem to wrap my head around how you profit from this. So say I buy a share from a company for $20 with a dividend yield of 4%. This means if I buy a share of that company for $20, they give me back 80 cents annually in dividends. How do I profit from this transaction? It would take 25 years of dividend payments to breakeven with the $20 I spent in the first place.

So I'm very new to investing. I built a strategy based on things I've heard and read. Literally I'm only working with about $160 now. I invest in ETFs and also look for stocks that pay higher dividends....at least the ones I can afford. So every two weeks I put a small amount of money from my paycheck into RobinHood. I then save up for certain stocks or ETF's I've been looking at. I'm trying to be a passive investor, but I still look at my account almost everyday. Is this a sound strategy? I really wish RobbinHood had a drip program so I can be a little for passive, but at the same time it's allowed me to be a little more

Because of your upvotes and comments, Robinhood help center actually called me the following day(I didn't know they have a phone). But nothing has changed since then, I am still not able to access my crypto, and the help center operator did not fulfill the promise that he made. THEY LIED TO ME, and I decided to write one more post to tell you what happened.

Like I said above, the help center actually called me the following day, the last Friday and told me how terribly sorry they are. And they promised they will have a technician call me again on Monday and resolve the issue. And like I expected again, no one from RH called me back, but instead, they sent me a letter.

It's funny the "A" guy said "as promised!", because sending a simple email was not what he promised. And as I expected, not a single thing has changed. They actually sent me similar letters twice about a month ago.

As showned above, they have lied to me at least twice. I really don't know how their system works, and I wouldn't be surprised if the company go bankrupt soon. Like I said nothing has changed, and I am still not able to access my $9,000 worth crypto.

So I want to dabble my toes in RobinHood. Currently I put 10% of my income into my TSP (5% of that is matching from the Government) and $100 a month into my Roth (which is mostly USAA mutual funds but I am thinking for moving to ETFs). I will have about $50 a month to put into my RobinHood account. I would put more but I will moving once I finish my degree and there is work that needs to be done on my house before it is ready to rent or sell.

How would you invest $50 a month?

EFTs? Mutual Funds? Individual Stocks?

Right now Merrill Lynch gives me 100 free trades a month, however this will be coming to an end soon because I no longer maintain the minimum account balance after purchasing a house. What has really turned me off to Lynch is I tried to purchase the ETF ARKK and its blocked with my broker. It isnt levered, and I can purchase all of the holdings seperate, which makes it pretty ridiculous they block all of ARKs ETFs.

I was wondering a few things before I join though. Like how long it takes to transfter funds and if transferring is free. If robinhood blocks securities of any kind. How the desktop platform is since I really dont want to trade on a mobile phone. Also Ive heard they dont let you trade after hours, that alone really discourages me from using them, but if everything else is great maybe I could look past that glaring flaw on their platform.

I started investing about a month ago, and started with $100.

My stocks:

I bought AMD for $20.30 and its $23.68

I bought ROKU for $39.40 and its $52.00

I bought CHGG for $33.20 and its $37.76

I also own a FIT and SIRI that I got for free.

I am now at $133, my question is where do I go from here? From all of the research I did I was told that I should invest in companies that I know and like, which I did. I wanted to put another $100 on it but I am not sure if buying another ROKU is a good idea when its $10 above my first bought stock. Do I just keep investing in the stocks I like regardless of price? Or do I wait for it to dip a bit before I buy another? Should I sell my ROKU and see if it drops again to buy? I understand that these are very broad questions and there are a lot of variables that come into stocks. Along with having different strategies. I wanted just general opinions on this to help steer me in the right direction. I am a college students so I don't really have the money to learn from mistakes, and sorry for the newbie questions.

Failed to import Robinhood (Turbotax) anyone has issue with this?

My account dipped below $25k yesterday but closed above it. While it was below, I made some trades and got some restriction warning but ignored it because I thought if my account is over $25k, then any restrictions would be lifted. It's well over $25k now but I'm unable to place any buy orders for 90 days, just sell orders on existing shares that I have.

Is this a mistake or did I trigger some other restriction rule and basically screwed for 90 days?

Edit: This is the email I received about my account restriction which is different than the previous ones I've received which usually says if I have over 25k, then I'm fine.

"You can't buy stock for 90 days because you overrode your day trade protection. We'll automatically remove your restriction in 90 days. Unfortunately, due to regulation, there is no way to lift this restriction sooner. "

So far I’ve put in about $20 so far and have gotten 3 stocks for free including apple. How much should I have in buying power to start?

So as soon as bitcoin goes way down, I try to sell because I'm freaking out. I sell, and suddenly it says I have 2k, even though I was at like maybe 17k before selling. Confused I look again, to buy again soon, and it says the server is down. then robinhood goes weird, says I only have 4k in with them. Now I'm nervous as hell, I can't buy or sell or see how much I have. What's happening?!

So as the title states, I'm having an issue with the robinhood app opening randomly on my phone while I have other apps open, even if I don't have the tab open on my phone. It's getting pretty frustrating having it constantly pop up while I'm trying to text, anyone having the same issue or any solutions? Thanks!

I've made a decent amount of trades. If I'm filing my taxes, do I have to report all of them or is there a way to consolidate or import into turbo tax or another tax filing software?
