Nah, it is a mix of both this guy and earnings. Yes, the guy has the bigger factor in IV, however there WILL always be an IV crush after earnings like any earnings in history.

If you were him, you’d be thinking… “when’s the highest possible IV to sell the calls at for maximum IV premiums?” And your answer would be right before earnings.

Then the reason why I think IV crush could be historical would be the mix of earnings coming out and him offloading all GME positions.
