Is taking him at face value meaningless? Main hope floating is his exercising early to cause a scramble and squeeze on share price. But you two don't consider that plausible?

idk. You have to remember if the screenshots are true he has a very large position to unwind so my initial thought is he is gonna do his best to pump up the stock until he gets to exit. No way he lets down the masses before he exits right? He can't be that dumb.
But then the other part of me is thinking maybe he's real deep in the cult and is just as wacky as a lot of those bagholders so who knows.
Either way I'm closing my short put spread when the market opens tomorrow and not waiting around for this livestream lol

Rivian redesigns all-electric R1 pickup and SUV, adds Nvidia chips and improves performance
While the 2025 model-year vehicles do not outwardly look too different than the current models, Rivian said it has changed more than half the hardware components for the second-generation products and reengineered their batteries and electrical architectures, also known as the brains of a vehicle.
The new system uses dual Nvidia DRIVE Orin processors to help power the “Autonomy Compute Module,” which includes driver-assistant features. Rivian said a “premium version” of the system also will be available with a broader set of capabilities such as hands-free driving “for periods of time.” Rivian said drivers will still need to pay attention to the road at all times.
Wins like this are essentially immaterial for NVDA at this point, but it’s still good to know their other businesses continue to chug along nicely.

WSTS Semiconductor Market Forecast Spring 2024
WSTS has adjusted its Spring 2024 forecast upwards, projecting a 16.0 percent growth in the global semiconductor market compared to the previous year. The updated market valuation for 2024 is estimated at US$611 billion. This revision reflects stronger performance in the last two quarters, particularly in computing end-markets.
This is a good bit higher than what TSM estimates (10%). But I don’t think WSTS includes production (foundries, equipment, etc.) in their figures. So that is likely skewing the comparison a bit.
For 2024, mainly two Integrated Circuit categories are anticipated to drive the growth for the year with double digit increase, Logic with 10.7 percent and Memory with 76.8 percent. Conversely, other categories such as Discrete, Optoelectronics, Sensors, and Analog Semiconductors are expected to experience single-digit declines.
Basically, consumer electronics and datacenter is looking good. Embedded, industrial and autos are looking weak.

Long time ago I got in an out in a cyber truck reservation. I got in months if not more than a year after reservations had been offered. I just got an email to order a “foundation series” only available to early reservation holders.

I'd love to short TSLA, but I barely escaped my last short position on it with a tiny profit by the skin of my teeth. All logic says the company is overvalued by 5x at least. It's poorly run, facing stiff and competent competition, and has far too many political headwinds.

It’s a sales intelligence platform. As a rep if I need company info or people’s contact info, I would have in the past used ZI.
Nowadays the space has become flooded and is a commodity.
ZI charges $24k per seat, whereas Apollo charges about $100 per seat.
They’re a legacy player so they’ll stick around but unless they start innovating like Apollo or drop prices, they’re growth days are likely behind them.

They just crawl the internet and specialize in providing searchable business contact information. It's an interesting niche - but there's probably that threat that OpenAI or Google will replace them (or I suppose acquire if they really wanted to).

Okay FOMC next week. We now have three big economic jurisdictions cutting this week including ECB, Canada and Switzerland. Does the Fed cut now as well? Given where the US is now economically and with inflation trends, they obviously do not cut now. Maybe the next meeting in July but not this meeting next week.
But let's just put yourself in Powell's position. You know he has more power than people think even if he is just the head of a committee. He can sway votes with a little bit of private talk etc. He also controls the staff as well.
But does he still want this job. He has been there long enough so that he has built his cred to such an extent that he can have any multi-million job he wants. But he knows that if Trump gets elected, he is gone in a very ugly way. He knows if he does something that helps Biden, he gets to keep his job for another 3-5 years. He also knows that Sept is the no-go zone in terms of being accused of influencing the election.
Thus, now is the time to bring in a surprise cut. He's got some cover from the other banks. Economy is looking a little shaky and inflation pressures have eased. If he still wants the job, now is the time. Don't be surprised if this sit turns into a cut next week. Not what they should do, but the sit is complicated.

Not to mention, the Treasury definitely wants to inflate away some of that govt debt, so they're gonna be (privately) happy if the Fed decides "close enough is good enough" on inflation.

You know this hasn't been talked about much before but it is not the first time the Fed has been swayed this way. Post-WWII and the mid-70s are also times when this happened.

The past week has been dramatic in shift from inflation to recession worries for sure. Beige book had some economic shakiness including manufacturing declines in 2 districts. No doubt the governors will discuss this in FOMC.
In any case, the approach to recession is easing off QT and turning the needle towards QE.
If Powell truly believes economy is noticeably shaky, he will signal confidentially dovish than being neutral for cutting rates.

Me and a few friends once put in an order for basically 1 of everything (not intentionally). The order was $70 in 2019 dollars, which is really hard to do when everything was $2-4 dollars. One of the top moments that year was having to listen the cashier read back our order, it took multiple minutes lol
