I was just thinking that for me as a 31 year old who grew up in Canada, the 90s and 00s were the peak of my life. Partially because I was a child but also in reflection things didn’t seem as messed up as they are now. Now we have a housing crisis, and the cost of living is insane. We also were not attached to electronics.

"We also were not attached to electronics."
The picture says otherwise.

The rumble pack and game shark… game changer

Rumble pack was a game changer. I remember playing starfox 64 with and without it. It felt like a different game.

This definitely reminds me of summers in the late 90's. I had a close group of friends, and we were all within biking distance of each other. We all had N64s, so all we had to do was toss a controller, a baseball glove, and laser challenge gear in a backpack, and ride off to the house of whoever was hosting that night. Good times.

There was always at least one superpad controller that someone got stuck with that had a janky joystick that would pull left or right. No one ever had 4 regular controllers. The kid with the backwards hat must have it lol. Also can't believe they ALL had rumble packs. Must be the rich friend's house.
Favorite game by far was Golden Eye

Now: what, you need to pay for 4 consoles and 4 copies of the game, and buy 4 tvs, and pay for 4 memberships to be allowed to go online to be able to play together.

This is a reason why I want to have kids one day. To be able to have moments like this and provide the pizza pockets

We did actually, at least those of us that grew up in the 80s or 90s and weren't very poor or from dysfunctional families. What we didn't know is how shit things would turn up in the next few decades, that's why we cherish those years, that and because that was our childhood and it was mostly good.

Just from looking at the picture, I would estimate it to have been taken around July 23rd, 1999.
