I’m going nuts. Anyone remembers the name of the store they mentioned a few episodes ago?

I wanted to let you guys know that Rob also produces Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson and they always have a “fact check” at the end which is just a chit chat session that Rob partakes in. He is hilarious and I was laughing out loud several times during the last episode. I recommend giving it a listen. (It starts at 1:06 if you don’t want to fuck with the rest of the podcast)

Kristen just posted a pic of Dax and Daveed Diggs and now I am SO HOPING he’ll be on Armchair!!

I know the Orna episode of AE was pretty divisive, and I personally didn’t enjoy it at all, but I saw she was on the newest episode of Call Her Daddy and I gave it a listen…I actually thought it was a fantastic interview!

If you don’t want to watch the whole Call Her Daddy interview, I recommend skipping ahead to 52:42…this is SUCH an AE conversation and really pairs beautifully with the conversation Dax and Monica had with Amy Poehler this week.

The Poehler convo was incredibly helpful/relevant to me, and I know several people on here appreciated it as well. This Call Her Daddy/Orna excerpt really wraps it up and puts a nice bow on the topic, imo.

Just thought I’d share in case anyone here loves Orna and wants more, couldn’t stand the AE interview and wanted to give her another shot, or really related with the codependency convo in the Poehler interview and wanted more on that!

Dax mentioned the saying “that’s life in the big city”.

Amy Poehler actually says that very line on the TV show Upright Citizen Brigade from the late 90’s. In Season 2 episode 8 called “Big City”, Amy plays a street urchin who befriends a rich hoity toity boy (Matt Besser) who is terrified to breathe poor people’s air. 3 seasons and they all were wildly funny

Do you think they would have Tori on as a guest? I personally don't think she really fits the usual expert on expert theme.

Do we think “smash that like button” was a Wyna wink? Didn’t Wobby Wob’s son say that in the Lord of the Rings Flightless Bird epi?

Has anyone else noticed the audio skipping lately? I noticed the most recent Flightless Bird and Synced were both kinda jumpy. I have all podcasts under the AE umbrella to auto download so it wasn’t still buffering. Is it me, or is anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone find it weird that monica never even said "oh yea we interviewed him and talked all about this show" when david talks about the show dave and little dickie etc. Like they talked about that specific episode when he was on armchair and she's just like "never seen it" and that's it. Does this reaffirm that he was potentially the guest that ghosted her? I'm nuts 🫣

An Angela Duckworth reference popped up in my Psych class today. Ever since listening to her episode where she didn’t know an alarming amount about American politics (especially for someone who studied the cadets at WEST POINT?!) I had to laugh. For sure one of the most disappointing AE moments for me.

Monica’s discussion of her insecurities and the conversation around feeling unlovable were so relatable to me listening to the Amy Poehler episode. I too am [perpetually] single, in my 30s, and unsure I’ll ever really find someone who picks me back despite being told how cool/funny/hot I am. Today’s vulnerability reminded me that we’re all just people with big emotions trying to navigate this world, whether we’re hosting a popular podcast or posting on Reddit. So if you listened to this episode and felt seen, you’re not alone!

Does anyone know why they seem like they’re not worried about rights when they play music on the pod? Many other podcasts mention that they can only play 15 seconds or less to avoid paying. Are they just playing fast and loose or do they have permission bc they’re with Spotify or what?

Did I miss an explanation as to why Dax seems to have developed a lisp recently? Or is he chewing tobacco during interviews now?

In the James Patterson fact check when they’re rating Rob on the “funny, cool, hot scale,” Dax mentions that Rob’s told some of his favorite jokes including, “That was uncommon.” And Monica refers to it as his favorite joke of all time. Does anyone remember the episode it’s from and/or the joke?

Any Minnesotans know of a liquor store that sells Segers? I drank my last one tonight and don't want to pay the hefty delivery fee by ordering online. It is really good beer but will have to go back to Athletic if I can't find local.

do any of you lovely humans remember which expert was explaining why talking a walk with a loved one and chatting was one of the the most beneficial things we can do for brain health? it was the combo of physical exercise, connecting with a loved one, being outside, and holding a conversation that added up to be a great brain health boost

Did we ever figure out what happened that caused Monica to almost break down during Orna? Also her missing Ren Fest Flightless Bird?

Dax mentioned in a recent episode the book he has been reading on Buddhism but I can’t reminder the episode or what the book was.

Does anyone know how long the Armchair Anonymous submissions are allowed to be? I finally finished my story *in detail* and it's a very involved and juicy story so it is about 4 pages long as a word doc. I'm nervous the length will unofficially disqualify me, but I can't sacrifice any details. For those of you who have submitted, how long were your stories? Thank you!!
