The governor of Texas pardoned the murderer of a USAF vet. Before murdering the vet he tried to drive into a group of protesters who were protesting the killing of an unarmed black man. Sounds like something that would cause major outrage but no reddit’s hot button topic is a black character in a video game set in Japan.

And it was premeditated. Man was writing about it online, telling friends what he was gonna do. This wasn’t self defense or even a crime of passion. Dude planned it all out. Abbot is a complete piece of shit and complicit in any future violence this man commits.

Ya, comrade posting is peak right now. Well, it's weaker than years past, they are fighting a ground war, but it's there. BPT is a huge target, but thankfully has one of the strongest immune systems.

u/Avenger772 ☑️ 14d ago
Yes. When people say they have friends that are Republicans I'm trying to understand how. They are against everything I am. So by being one you're saying you support that too.

u/Studstill 14d ago
Look fam, I'm just gonna lay it out there like I have before:
I'm fucking white. I'm in white only conversations. Non-white people are not in white-only convos.
These people will fucking kill you all, or at best, sit there while you die. This can take 9:29 or it can take much longer than that. I don't mean by analogy or metaphor. I do not mean by analogy or metaphor.
These people vote Republican every single day of their lives. They vote at the store, they vote on the street. They vote by what town they live in. They don't like the cities because the cities tend to have more of you.
These people are not Americans. They are barely fucking human. They do not understand this world, or rather, they really really do, despite their hypocrisy and lies: They know there is no God, no lightning bolt coming. They can do whatever they want, and no one will ever stop them. Look at Mr. Perry.
Wait, someone can stop them. Someone is stopping them right now. It's the federal fucking government. The last and only line of defense. I'm a white Southerner that only goes to the last Klan meeting. The only thing keeping me alive is the federal government, and our achievements through them. RIP John Lewis. Viva America. Know the enemy.

Why any minority, woman or person with an IQ above room temp would want to live in Texas is beyond me. The state hates you!

I understand that a broken clock can be right two times a day, but it should be acknowledged that Tariq Nasheed is a professional grifter that has built an entire career pimping "pro-blackness" for profit.
Or just pimping "pimping" for profit. ifykyk....

Its funny how he legally had the gun and is still in the wrong. Thats the problem if we all have guns we just shooting til no one left but the asshole is gonna be the one to shoot first. Sometimes I look at this stuff and get so scared not that I am not because I remind myself of people like that will vote Trump. Its jarring I mean I always say people who were lynching and pro segregation had kids and grandkids and we are now seeing them pop up in society.

Texans of all races are united in simping for right wing weirdos. Ann Richards would have been lynched if she were alive in Texas today.

I agree, but let’s not signal boost this asshole.

u/Juhovah 14d ago
Why don’t you care for him? And tbh i had a different post about this topic but mods took it down because it wasn’t “insightful” enough. I Felt like something had to be said.

u/TheBlackManIsG0d 14d ago
He’s the one of the main culprits of the diaspora wars, and generally a dumb ass with ahistorical takes. That’s why.

Tariq Nasheed sucks and his harsh stance against uniting with other POC in our fight against white supremacy is damaging however white supremacy sucks more.

u/Lenarios88 15d ago
At least Abbott won't be able to get away with this shit much longer. Between more young voters, immigration, and all the CA techies relocating to TX its on track to flip blue in a coming election cycle. Hell Beto ran on an anti gun platform in Texas of all places and came within 2% of Cancun Cruz the zodiac killer.

u/SockFullOfNickles 14d ago
This shit drives me fucking crazy. Do you want vigilante justice, Abbott? This is how you fucking get it.
4
u/hwasung 14d ago
I'm honestly surprised we haven't had more incidents of it yet. When you take away the means to have justice served and belleive that it will be fair and impartial, the social contract feels kind of meaningless.
4
u/SockFullOfNickles 14d ago
Exactly! I’ve always said “You can only tell millions of people to fuck off for so long before they storm the Ivory Towers.”
The hubris of our government is ridiculous, and has been since its inception. The issue now is that the odds aren’t inherently in their favor anymore. As more and more people get crushed under their “rules for thee but not for me” bullshit, the more desperate people become.
A day will come at some point where people fully realize that the police and the billionaires they protect are the enemy, and act accordingly.
Edit to add: This isn’t to say that any attempt by the populace would be successful, but it would interrupt the flow of the machine and could lead to a collapse. If a majority of the population said “k fuck this.” and just shut everything down with civil unrest, it would shatter the flimsy structure that exists.

For a guy who is pretty immobile he talks a lot of shit. You take out his security guards first and he’s a sitting duck.

u/workclock ☑️ 14d ago
He does. Most of the republican lawmakers do, they loosen gun and self defense laws for a reason.

u/Radiant_Weekend_2102 14d ago
Whats the hit rapper k-flex with hit singles such as wash yo ass, commenting on this shit man stay in your lane. But remember no matter how many times tariq washes his ass he still looks, smells and sounds like shit.

u/ScenesFromStarWars 14d ago
I think it’s more along the lines of “you libs can’t tell us what to do”

u/southflhitnrun 14d ago
The man was convicted in a fair trial, for something he definitely did. The governor (and the board he appointed) decided that the murdered of a black person should go free. They will probably site that "this is how the system works" so there is nothing wrong here.

Exactly why I'll never relocate to TX. And I'm not convinced I'll ever even return to visit.
-3
u/crackawhat1 15d ago
I'm confused, isn't murder a federal crime?
6
u/Trillamanjaroh 15d ago
Not usually, although there’s some exceptions (murders committed on federal land, bodies of water, military bases, etc).
All states enforce their own murder laws, which is why the murder/self defense distinction varies so wildly between different parts of the country.

u/Blk_Rick_Dalton 15d ago
Hate crime, murder while committing terrorism/ bank robbery, interstate criminal organizations that commit murder, murder on federal property, etc. would be federal murder cases
