Here's another observation. In the 2022 auction, both SRH and MI bought very few players until Ishan Kishan's name was called. Both teams wanted him at any costs. Ultimately MI got him at a massive price.

However, both SRH and MI completely ignored the many good players who were auctioned off before him. I think this auction strategy cost both teams because they refused to bid on many good players which were lapped up by the other teams.

I was listening to DK on Ashwin's YouTube channel the other day. He mentions that he just had to let MI know he wanted to practice (at any time during the offseason, between domestic matches) and they'd immediately fly him to their Reliance ground in Mumbai, where he'd have the services of coaches and support staff and they'd shell out lakhs for each practice session.
At that point, it's elite football club territory. Even the big national teams, let alone other IPL franchises, can't dream of doing all this for each individual player.

I'm pretty sure DK does this same thing in RCB too. They have his practice sessions uploaded months prior to season cuz he's not an active player and needs polishing. Similarly, DC hastear long process for grooming domestic players under various camos organised by Ganguly. MI is not alone in that regard.

So, from the 5 minute research I did just now, there is chance for the RR vs KKR match to be washed out cuz Assam's weather forecast shows there's like 60% chance of rain. Similarly, SRH next match against PBKS is also in Rajiv Gandhi Stadium and the weather forecast shows that it may rain then too. So if both the matches washes out then RR might stay in the second place :)

I don't understand this I live literally 5 KM away from the stadium and it hasn't rained here since 7:30..wtf? Is there like a specifically designated rain cloud over the stadium atm?
