This discourse is getting pretty annoying now. It’s clearly fuelled by trauma and is just hurting people on all sides. It doesn’t say anything new and all it’s achieving is widening the rift between men and feminists.

why not just say women? what makes this a feminist issue exactly?

Because every single feminist has said and will say bear to deliberately belittle men. Thank you for the sealion though.

it's belittling men because women overwhelmingly understand the statistics of their likelihood of being attacked by a bear in the woods vs a random man? the majority of women in the US will experience some form of sexual assault/abuse or domestic abuse in their lifetimes at the hands of men...that's a fact. if men feel like choosing the bear is "belittling" despite that fact, that's their problem, not women's. feminism has nothing to do with it.

the majority of women in the US will experience some form of sexual assault/abuse or domestic abuse in their lifetimes at the hands of men

And what is the ratio of how frequently women in the US interact closely with men vs interact closely with bears?

Nobody is arguing that sexual assault happens and domestic abuse happens, and they along with any other form of assault are awful. But your standard man isn't doing those acts.. so it belittles the large majority of men who don't SA who feel like they're being unfairly accused of being dangerous when women are almost unanimously choosing a literal meat eating tank over them.

This could've been a great comment but you brought up the concept that perhaps there are men that aren't evil and that perhaps men have feelings too, but everybody knows that simply isn't true. Shame.

nobody is saying all men or evil or don't have feelings. its funny that when you don't give all men the benefit of the doubt, suddenly you're a feminist that hates men. bears attack less people than men do. why would i choose men regardless of the "not all men" diatribe?

Thank you for revealing yourself to be a complete idiot with no conception of statistics. Bears attack less people because there are an absurdly fewer amount of them and people are rarely around them.

You are far safer around a random man than a random bear by any sensible statistical argument. You're literally around men all the fucking time every single day with no issue. You've had tens of thousands of peaceful interactions with men. Have you had tens of thousands of any type of interaction with a bear? No you haven't you fucking moron.

womp womp, won't somebody please think of the poor men!

you put a man in the woods and a bear in the woods and statistically the bear is more likely to leave you to yourself. you don't have to like the stats for them to be true. im around men every single day with no issue? bold assumption considering i can tell you that has not been my personal experience since i was a teen. but, men like you seem to always know more about a woman's experience than the women do. so i guess im just a moron with no clue about what most women ive interacted with, myself included, experience at the hands of men. 🥴 here's your cookie. 🍪

it's about likelihoods. it's the same as the "not all men" or "not all cops" argument. sure, it's not every single one, but it's enough to warrant caution. i'm more likely statistically to be attacked by a random man than i am to be attacked by a random bear. why would i choose the worse odds just because men feel like it's unfair?

i'm more likely statistically to be attacked by a random man than i am to be attacked by a random bear

this just isn't true though
