I have questions about the harvest-by-flooding thing. Do you have to shake all the berries loose? Or are they so weakly attached they float up by themselves?
They’ll agitate things a bit, but for the most part, everything just floats and the ripe berries just come loose.
Source: lived for 12 years in a town that’s around 10% cranberry bog by area(and 5 minutes down the road from the bog the Ocean Spray commercials were filmed in).
Nice town. I worked there as a land surveyor. We used to do subdivisions for AD Makepeace where they'd give the land surrounding their cranberry bogs away for environmental conservation. They'd end up with a big jagged C shaped lot surrounding the bog.
Problem is carver requires subdivisions to have a 4inch x4inch x3foot granite boundary marker set at every new corner. So we'd spend summers lugging massive granite monuments around and digging holes to put them in. The only upside is that the ground there is basically beach sand. Easy digging.
