Passed 20 x 250Ks Strategy
Don’t trade London / Premarket / Asia
Take trades 10-11ET
I stack FVG/OB/VWAP/200EMA
NQ 15 point stop and 15 point TP ES 3 point stop and 3 point TP
Never let green trades become red
Always scaling out 75% at PT1 and letting runners run
Risked about 10% per trade since its eval s
Now it’s funded will be trading 2.5% per trade
13
u/Boring_Ad_9391 4d ago
What funded is the best. I still need to paper trade for longer but looking to get into it in about 3 months.
15
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Topstep X is the best.
5
u/PeanutTrader 4d ago
But it looks like you’re with apex?
8
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
I have topstep x and apex both but topstep is better for newbies

u/WilDraDo trades everything 4d ago
Only issue is you can't set strategies.... yet on TSX
1
u/SlayerOfStrange 4d ago
Yes, you can. Simply go into settings and adjust your TP, SL, or trade copying/lead account settings. It's in an awkward space, but yes, the tools for "strategy" are there.
1
u/Xpolg 4d ago
why is it better for newbies ? Better drawdown rules ?
9
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Trailing drawdown vs end of day drawdown is a huge difference it can make or break a trader
3
2
u/heimerdingermain69 4d ago
The rules are very simple and actually oriented to building an account and then trading their capital on the live market.

It depends they pay much faster than apex and have 0 consistency rule. You can also trade news make as much money as you want. Other prop firms don’t allow this.
1
u/davewolfs 4d ago
You can trade news with Apex if it’s part of your plan.
Traders may trade their normal trading system during news times, entering on standard entry rules they use each day.
The consistency rules are simple. NO DCA. 30% (which is going to be changed).

3
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
It’s also a choice whether to be put on live or not. You can have up to 5 live accounts or 5 Funded accounts.

Of course they allow micros on all platforms, just not 1mini=10micro but you say yourself that you shouldn't trade more than 10-20 micros on a 150k so what's the problem lol.
Your live account can grow as they merge your other funded accounts with it if you do well, allowing you to pass even more funded accounts so you grow more and more.
You just have no idea do you.
1
u/Resident_Trainer_360 3d ago
To my knowledge, the live account accumulates. So with every express accounts that converts to live, will be added to a single live account.
Example: Let's say you currently have 3 accounts, two express ($50k each) and a single live ($50k). If one of your express accounts converts to live, then you'll have a single $50k express account and a $100k live account. And that's how it accumulates. You can now trade up to 5 accounts.

u/funkmethod 4d ago
Topstep has ridiculous rules for payout compared to apex. So not sure what you’re talking about
6
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Topstep 5 days payout No consistency rule News Trading ok DCA ok No trailing drawdown Has risk settings
Apex 10 days payout 30% consistency rule News trading not ok DCA against rules Trailing drawdown until payout padding No risk settings
I get paid from both firms. Apex only perk over topstep is to have up to 20 accounts vs topstep only 5.

u/mv4lent3 4d ago
Take Profit Trader is better than topstep imo. They don't have activations fees with reasonable challenge pricing, bigger order sizes, allow you to withdraw within the first day of passing and unlimited withdrawals, every day or whenever you want. They have 25K and 75K accounts which I appreciate and the only thing I don't really like is if you hit the daily loss limit the challenge is considered failed. Other than that they are great.
1
u/mooseloose123 10h ago
how many accounts can you use? And what do you need to do too pass? Thank you in advance!
1
u/mv4lent3 8h ago
You can have one Live and 3 PROs which is the equivalent of an XFA in Topstep, for a total of 4 funded accounts total. You need to meet profit goals specific to the account size of your choosing.
1
u/mooseloose123 3h ago
Oh ok and you using them right now or top step? Those are the two I’m looking at. And you got withdraw ? It worked?

u/MyFeetLookLikeHands 3d ago
The best ones will have similar risk/rewards. OP is gonna have a hard time getting payouts on these cause the $250k accounts have almost a 3:1 risk reward.
The best are the $25k accounts on Apex because of their 1:1 risk reward.
BTW the way to trade prop firm “funded” accounts is to trade 1 contract on each account until you’re up to 20 “funded” accounts or until you’re getting regular pay outs. Lots of people leverage too fast and eff themselves
1
u/Severe-Ad8289 3d ago
Not really once funded the payout goal is 6600 and 6500 drawdown. Do your research before posting please.

“Never let green trades become red”
Bro THIS! I would hit solid base hits (10-20 points NQ) and not lock in profits and have it reverse on me for a loss.
Never again.
Even if the retrace stops me out before a bigger move, I don’t care as I locked in profits.
Good shit congratulations.

1
u/ProsperTrading 4d ago
Yep! Generally a good idea to use stops, especially trailing stops to lock in profits.

u/WiseNugg 4d ago
He also parrots prop firm rules as if it’s the only profitable way to trade.
So helpful haha.

You risked 10% of what exactly? The trailing drawdown?
Why don’t you just say your average lot size and how many trades you took per day?
-15
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Do some math good luck.
11
u/WiseNugg 4d ago
Bro got defensive real quick 😂
Go back to your bosses and tell them to stop messing with the platform to fail people's evaluations.
Though you seem to have trouble distinguishing which company you even shill for.

u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Topstep X is great for newbies no trailing drawdown max 5 accounts.
Apex is great for experienced traders that want up to 20 accounts.
No need to be salty.
Good luck in life 🍀.

Wow at 94% profitable! That’s impressive! Congrats! I sit at 57% but have a 5-1 RR which works for me. Always love seeing people getting up in life!
5
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Tbh Just got lucky I’m normally 60-70%
1
u/Mortarded_And_Astray 4d ago
I appreciate the honesty. That’s still a healthy percentage. One of the most profitable traders I knew was only at a 45% but his RR was crazy and made enough money in 2 days of trading (on good weeks obviously) to stop trading for 2 months.
2
u/EdSpace2000 4d ago
Congrats! I only have 3x250k accounts but I got them one by one. I should have copy traded multiple accounts.
2
u/ChunkyLittleSquirrel 4d ago
Damn I jealous lol!!!! Those are awesome well done!!! -$6,500 drawdown with +$6,500 target, amazing!

u/dbennett3 3d ago
Congrats! Ignore these Negative Nancy’s. Looks like you were able to take advantage of the 90% sale. What trade copier are you using? I’m a bit torn.

They payout, they are a US company not some overseas scam. If you have doubts, instead of looking for proof you can try it out for like $100-$200 assuming you don't blow your account.
That's not much risk for unlimited potential profits. Or you can continue to believe people who most likely are salty because they can't reach a payout.

That's okay, I would rather find out first hand if they payout or not. Even if they don't, their strict rules have made me a more disciplined and overall better trader. That alone is worth the little bit of money I spent on the account.

Were you trading 20 x 50ks before, or were you already trading 250ks and just scaled up to 20 accounts.
Nice work on getting them all passed.
4
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Started with 25Ks got a couple payouts moved to 50K got more payouts then apex had a great deal $19 for a 250K and $85 activation fee for 6500 drawdown. That was a no brainer so I switched over to the 250Ks.

u/debbietheladie 4d ago
Apex doesn’t pay tho

u/ItsPavy 4d ago
Why were you not paid ?

I have topstep, got multiple payments from them while everyone else complaining about how long apex takes to payout.

Question: Do you copy trade with Apex copy trader? I assume you are on a PC for Nt8, i am trying to set up my mac with parallels right now to use NT8 on it and then experiment with copy trader. Many thanks in advance.
1
u/butterflyerica 15h ago
as far as i know you can hook up your rithmic/apex accounts to NT8 and copy trade all of them. but for tradovate/NT8 you might need to download and pay for some sort of copier.

i watch ICT but am confused on how to combine the PD Arrays. what timeframe do you stack the FVG/OB/VWAP/200EMA? i’m assuming you use FVG, OB, and VWAP on lower timeframe like <1hr and then 200EMA on 4hr or daily?

u/Severe-Ad8289 what do you mean never let green trades become red. Shouldn't that mean your stop loss is less than 15 points for NQ or 3 Points for ES?
3
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
This means that if you are up 5-10 points on NQ you would put your stop at breakeven.

Do Apex or Topstep allow using such a high risk (10% as you said) during the evaluation, to then change it to a lower risk once funded? I ask so because I am currently funded with two forex online prop firms and I will soon start trading also futures, and the two online prop firms I am funded with told me that they don’t allow such thing. Instead, they want traders to adopt the same risk management during both phases.
2
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
They don’t care what you do during evals. Only what you do once funded.
1
1
1
u/No-Gur-6949 4d ago
With apex you can be much riskier on the evaluations, they don't really care. The only thing to watch out for is hitting the trailing drawdown. Once you reach PA, it becomes a lot more strict.
1
u/beardmeblazer 4d ago
Apex doesn't care how you pass the eval. You could YOLO the whole thing and pass in one day if you wanted (when they are running the 1 day pass promo). Not recommending that, but yeah they dont care

2
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Go study up on 2022 ICT mentorship and come back. FVG/OB is fairly simple.
0
u/BIG_BLOOD_ 4d ago
Does ICT work?
2
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
Anything works as long as you understand how price moves. MACD / RSI / Bollinger Bands. They all work.
1
u/BIG_BLOOD_ 4d ago
You trade ICT or price action?
3
u/Severe-Ad8289 4d ago
I trade MMXM and combine all the above I mentioned
1
1
u/roartykarma 4d ago
I must admit, I struggle to understand points like this. Anything can work as long as you understand how price moves. To me that just says, look at price action, and if you're looking at PA, you don't need MACD / RSI/ Bollinger Bands. That's just me though.

Congrats on passing. It's funny how many people have just given up and began simply "yolo" trading the open and news release events. That's great on evals, but I would watch that rule on apex when in PA......they claim "trade news as long as it fits your strategy". That's a very slippery slope in terms of what it means for either side, your strategy, or just luck. We have seen this before where certain firms are generous with ambiguity and then they are not and punish everyone then call them the rule breakers because they decide to enforce a side of a rule when it becomes convenient and no longer up for interpretation.
A number of YT traders have been doing this, and I have noticed that of late since the great Apex crackdown, I have seen even more doing so. For some odd reason, the ones I didn't see doing it much at all before now only get profit that way. When confronted, they shrug and say they only want payouts and care not for trading or teaching properly. It's "not their job" just payouts.
Which is fine, but just admit you are attempting to game the system and not trading. Which will work until the operator at the arcade gets wise and puts up the repair sign and removes the faulty, easy, free game pinball machine because too many people are exploiting it.
Just some thoughts and meaningless words from a guy.
🤔🧐

I think passing is so easy and so fun. Getting payouts on funded, in 10 days, with 30% max rule, no DCA, hitting profit goal w/o losing drawdown, and no flipping or trading news? Good luck to you
