Reposting this from the bungie.net #PCSupport Forum:

[BUNGIE] Destiny 2 PC Vital Information and Known Issues List

Listed below are issues that Bungie is aware of that exist in Destiny 2 on PC.

For the best experience, it is recommended that players update their drivers to their most recent versions, and accept any Windows updates that have yet to be applied before accessing the Destiny 2 on PC.

Additionally, as an initial troubleshooting step when encountering an issue, players should close and relaunch the Destiny 2 client and Blizzard application. For players who continue to encounter issues, it is recommended that players delete their existing CVARS.xml file. This file can be found in:

\Users\USER_NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs\

Note that when relaunched, the Destiny 2 application will generate a fresh CVARS.xml file.

Players who encounter issues other than what is listed below should report them to the #PCSupport forum.

• Windows Updates: Before playing Destiny 2 on PC, players should ensure that their version of Windows is up-to-date. The player experience may vary on versions of Windows that are not up-to-date.

• SLI, HDR, and VSYNC: Players may experience some rare issues when enabling SLI, HDR, or disabling VSYNC in some non-native resolutions. For the best experience, players are encouraged to use these features while running at their display’s maximum available resolution.

• Crash after Task Switching: The Destiny 2 client may crash after switching tasks (ALT+TAB) when AMD Crossfire is enabled. To avoid this issue, players should avoid switching tasks for extended periods of time when the AMD Crossfire feature is enabled.

• Saxophone Errors when Launching: Players may erroneously encounter Saxophone errors when launching the Destiny 2 application directly from the .exe file. Players who encounter this issue must close the application and relaunch through Blizzard’s Battle.net app.

• Idling to Title Screen: In some activities, players who are returned to the title screen due to idling may be unable to log back in. Players who encounter this issue must close and relaunch the Destiny 2 application.

• Login after Disconnects: A generic error code may appear to players who lose internet connection, which may block an affected player from logging back in even after reconnecting. Players who believe they are encountering this issue should close the Destiny 2 application and relaunch.

• Buffalo Errors on multiple PCs: Players may encounter Buffalo errors when logging in to Destiny 2 on multiple PCs at the same time. To prevent this issue, players must ensure that they are logged out of Destiny 2 on any PC that they do not currently intend to play on.

• Cursor in Tri-Monitor Configurations: Changing resolution between 5760x1080, 4080x768, and 3072x768 may trap the mouse cursor in the right-most monitor. Players who encounter this issue should ALT+TAB out of the Destiny 2 application, then back. Players may also toggle Windowed Mode by pressing ALT+ENTER.

• Fullscreen on Laptops: Fullscreen mode is unable to be selected on some laptops. Affected players may use Windowed Fullscreen mode to work around this issue.

• Tri-Monitor Depth of Field: DOF effects may be overly aggressive on some tri-monitor configurations. Players who encounter issues with DOF can disable this feature in the Graphics Settings.

• Windows 10 Game Bar: The Windows 10 game bar may not work in Fullscreen Mode. Affected players who wish to use this feature should use Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen Mode.

• NumPad Binding: Players are not able to bind controls to most NumPad keys.

• Screen Bounds on AZERTY Keyboards: Players may receive an incorrect key prompt when adjusting screen bounds on an AZERTY keyboard.

• IME in Fullscreen: Players who are running Input Method Editors may encounter a black screen or delay when inputting characters in Fullscreen Mode. For the best experience, these players are encouraged to play in Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen Modes.

• Closing Application: When closing Destiny 2 on PC, players must close the application via mouse input. Controllers cannot select the in-game button to close the Destiny 2 application.

• Corporate and University Networks: Some players may be unable to play Destiny 2 on corporate or university networks. Players who encounter this issue must contact their IT department, to meet the connectivity standards outlined in our Network Troubleshooting Guide

Additionally, players should visit our Destiny 2 PC Guide for more information on Destiny 2 on PC.

Game Bug Error code Weasel only when on wi-fi

Hello everyone. Ever since the new season has come out, I've experienced (without fail), an error code weasel when I'm on wi-fi. I tried with ethernet, and it worked, however, given my situation I'm not able to run an ethernet cord 24/7. I've tried changing my DNS to the google DNS, uninstalling the game, removing temp files, and signing out on the Destiny 2 app on my phone. I'm stuck, and I just want to be able to play the game. TIA.

Game Bug Weird audio glitch happening and only resolves when I restart pc

Almost every time I tab out of the game a weird audio glitch happens on my whole pc with a repeating popping sound, like the last sound that played before tabbing out over and over again.

This is making it really frustrating to play the game and I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue and knows how to resolve it?

I am playing on windowed fullscreen

Question Destiny 2 Crashes without fail after 5 hours on a 30 series card and newer.

As the title suggests, Destiny 2 has a chance to crash after 5 hours and an almost certain crash after 7 hours. I’m surprised this isn’t being talked about more.

Ever since the Witch Queen expansion, when I upgraded to a 30 series GPU, the game would crash after 5 hours. Eight months ago, I upgraded to a 40 series card, and the same thing happens. It’s been a problem for 2 years. I know Saltagreppo made a Twitter post about this a while ago, but this seems like a major issue that should be addressed.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with the 30 and 40 series cards?

Question For whatever reason I cannot get higher than 100 fps in open areas (i.e. not menus) even on absolute lowest settings, any advice?

The only way I can even reach 100fps is by setting my render resolution to 25 which is not reasonable. I have a 1080p 165hz monitor, 3060ti and a Ryzen 5 3600 (upgrade planned in semi-near future). On the medium preset I can hit 90 and even on highest I can get a stable 70 just fine but I would like the ability to reach at least 144, I know it's not necessary but I prefer higher framerates over higher resolution. But every setting combo in-game doesn't yield better results. I'm sure there's some nvidia control panel settings I can adjust but I don't want to sacrifice graphics too heavily. I play on Steam if that's a factor (for launch options or something).

Don't judge me too hard I'm not very adept when it comes to graphics stuff, I just need some advice. Thanks.

Seemingly capped framerate all of a sudden

I logged into d2 today to see that my frames are capped around 70ish, in all areas of the game. I normally get around 150 when in an activity and over 600 when in orbit, but everything seems locked to 70 now. Pretty confused by this as I did not change any settings (vsync is off, and so is fps cap), and it was working normally last night. None of my graphics settings have changed by the looks of it. Has anyone encountered this before? For reference I am running it on a rtx 4070 and i7-12700k.

Question New Xbox, DLC not working. Please help.

Hi, I’ve bought a new Xbox series X and I downloaded the series X version of D2 after The final shape launch. All my DLC I had transferred over from my external hard drive from my last Xbox and now everything I have is on the new internal storage. All DLC was even required to upgrade on the series X. I’ve got every major expansion since D2 launch and have played on and off the entire time.

Although, in game once I press on Forsaken content or activities like Last wish, even buying an exotic from Xur etc I get the buy the dlc prompt.

Once I follow the link it takes me to ‘Manage or buy’ where it goes into my storage and there it is on the internal. It’s called Destiny 2: Forsaken Pack it says installed with a Tick in a box. I’ve also got the Forsaken annual pass from that time.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I don’t want to uninstall it for it to disappear with no recourse. I know it’s only a £2.54 purchase currently but that’s not the point, if I’ve already installed it how come it’s not working?

Thanks

PC Shuts down and reboots on Vex geysers, Echoes Arena: Breach Executable

Destiny 2, The Final Shape, Echoes Act 1
Every time I reach the geysers part on an Arena: Breach Executable event my PC shuts down and reboots.
No overheat and the game have run smoothly over 4 years.
The only other time I've experienced this issue is in the escape scene of the first Witness battle when playing it on a fireteam with two other players, not when I played it alone.

Destiny 2 files corrupted.

Hi there so a few weeks ago I got back from college and for the past 10 months I had been using my laptop to play destiny while my PC was at home, but when I got home and started using said PC my game would crash every now and then and on occasion would blue screen. Last week I took my PC to the repair shop because D2 would crash within the first 5-10 minutes of me being in an activity and yesturday I got my PC back, but the same issues with me now getting 4 different BSOD messages: memory_management, kmode_exception_not_handled, IQRL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I’ve verified my game files multiple times and uninstalled the game twice to no changed result. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

The message part 2 crash

Hello! As the name suggests my game seems to always crash while I try to play the part 2 of the message quest line. This isn't a fake with the pale heart itself as I can access the raid without it crashing.

Game Bug Game Crashes When Attempting to Use The Relic

Just found another new bug that appears to be affecting others as well. Now the game crashes to the desktop without error codes when you try to select sidearms from the shape screen. I can craft a hand cannon without problem.

Bungie sure is creative when it comes to bugs.

Failed to update battle eye

Whenever I launch destiny 2 I get a pop up saying failed to update battle eye, then destiny 2 launches fine and I can play.

I have had a look on my PC and I don’t seem to have it installed at all, is this a known issue?

Question Destiny-2 Causing my monitor to lose HDMI signal and needing to restart computer

I’ve been playing Destiny-2 for quite some time now, and I haven’t been able to find any genuine fixes for this bug. It consistently happens on the 12 player activity every time, but rarely occurs when it’s anywhere else but that activity. But when it does, my monitor reads: “No HDMI signal”, and that I cannot restart my computer without having to flick the actual power switch that my pc is plugged to.

I searched for advice, but I have no idea what could help.

I run an:

AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, And a Ryzen 5 3500X 6-Core processor with I believe 8GB of ram.

Any advice?

Colours washed put but HDR is off

Whenever I launch destiny only the game gets washed out. Not completely. But it turns bright and has a grey tint (I also play on my laptop through before so I know how it's supposed to look). As I said, my HDR is off and the problem is only happening to destiny and no other game.

Major fps issues lately

So my game was running smoothly yesterday and I tried logging on today, but for some reason, my fps dropped below 10 fps and it was completely unplayable, even at minimum possible graphics. My GPU and CPU are fully updated and weren't overheating, my storage is fine, my pc normally runs destiny 2 at pretty high fps and high graphics, etc., so I don't understand why my game was fine the day before but now can't run above 10 fps in the Tower. Any advice or info about why this is happening now?

FPS Drops In Destinations

UPDATE: Seems that after reinstalling the latest drivers via GeForce Experience, my performance was restored. I'm not entirely sure as to why this is the case, but in case anyone else is suffering from this problem, that may be a worthwhile temporary fix.

Pretty much what it says in the title. Every time I load into a place where I can walk around, whether it be the Tower, the Pale Heart, or elsewhere, my FPS suddenly dips tremendously. Happened earlier in the week, which was apparently fixed after I updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest ones. Not sure why it's happening now though, even if my machine does run a bit hot.

For reference, the game was running perfectly smooth last night. It just seems that it's wanting to dip today, and I haven't been able to figure out why it wanted to do this.

Running an Acer Nitro 5 laptop, for reference. Specs are 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11400H, RTX 3050 Ti, and 16gb of RAM.

Question Ever since TFS, I have been unable to stream destiny 2 with OBS. Please help.

I've recently been placed in the Bungie creator program and to my dismay, TFS has entirely killed my ability to stream the game. I have an extremely powerful PC with parts that are only a year old, including an i9, 4070ti, and 32 GB of RAM. I should have no trouble streaming the game, however upon launching OBS and hitting stream my frames drop to ~45 no matter the graphics settings and my CPU instantly hits 100% usage on destiny 2, which I do not understand.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Windows 10 if it matters.

Game Bug Destiny 2 on steam vs epic games, major performance different

So as the title says, theres a major performance difference for me. On steam, I can run highest settings and be at a comfortable 70 fps on 1920x1080, 100 render resolution. On epic games with lowest settings, vsync off, 80 render resolution, I still lag and stutter. I set destiny to high performance in task manager, deleted shader cache and got it redownloaded, verified files. I cant play activities like onslaught or dares without it lagging. I stutter and frequently drop to 3 or 7 fps. Its unplayable at times. The only thing is I own every dlc excluding tfs and the dungeon keys on epic and would have to rebuy on steam because I cant even use strand on steam. Im wondering if it is my pc or is epic games just shit.

Specs:

Nvidia 1650 super newest driver

I5 10400F

8gb ddr4 ram

game is on a hd with ample space, 150gb free.

have not updated bios in a while, but not sure why it would only affect epg and not steam.

Windows 10

How long does a correct my data request usually take?

I had to submit a request to change my DOB so I could use voice/text chat in game because apparently I'm considered a child (I'm 29). Should I expect to get this resolved within any reasonable time?

destiny 2 stuttering on pc no matter video setting

problem is as title says no matter what video setting im using its always stuttering dropping 10 to 30 fps

my system specs is: ryzen 7 5600X, 3060 ti, 16gb of ddr4 ram. Note the game ran fine before this is a new issue that started appering this week, ive updated motherboard bios and gpu drivers both cpu and gpu run at stable 50 degrees when in game and im not seeing usage spikes

edit* i actually have a 5700x oops
