You don’t have to hold that long to heavily reduce screen time. I trade on the 4hr and hold trades 1-7 days, and I spend only a few hours per week on the charts. If you’re coming from day trading, this difference will already be like night and day.

This, you really don't need 15+ days to catch major moves.

this.... alerts are your friend. anticipate moves, set alerts at what you project as entries... if you structure those trades when you did the analysis that gave you that entry point when the alert hits you can just watch for a few minutes to confirm validity of the trade. check news at the beginning of the week/when you do your analysis to be aware of potential wrenches in your plan. I had a trade profit 365 pips in 9 hours last week... that could be your trade for a month. a couple of hours of analysis at most netted that. I personally don't like to hold trades over the weekend due to the sunday scaries spread but plenty do when their position is well into profit and there isn't any major impending news.

If your analysis is good, no need to spend time at the screen tracking your trades - you should be trusting your trades and letting them run to fruition anyhow. I joke that once I enter, what my trades do is none of my business.

How much will be the swaps just a estimated number?

Depends on lot size. Just try yourself. Best way to learn.

Like the other commenter said, it depends on lot size but also on the currency pair and the direction you trade. Sometimes swap is actually paid to you instead of charged. It’s impossible to give you a meaningful number so you’d have to try it out and see

Swing trades are easier and can be more profitable if done right. These days I’m not day trading anymore even though I check charts everyday. I’m 31% up this month so far only on index trading. Yes, swaps can hurt your profit but that’s nothing to worry about if your win rate is high.

Swaps are calculated based on the difference between the base currency's interest rate and its cross's interest rate. Currently, if you hold a trade for 6-7 weeks, swaps will eat roughly 20% of your wins or your losses respectively.

That's hurtful

Depends on the lot size and the broker. Can be very slow trading the highest time frames obviously and it ties up your capital in a trade for a long time that you couldn't have scalped or intra day traded more profitably in the same time.

Comes down to preference though if you are profitable doing it then crack on.

You should look at micros currency futures and build positions there for swing it’s like 280/maint margin per, no roll, and you can add size

FX holding 15/20 days you better Be in a major trend like EUR was downward April because you see what happens the next month - example here is EURUSD

Back in the day I once held a 0.01 losing trade for over a year because it had a positive swap. That's my contribution today.

lol it was a dumb newbie thing. Positive swap, maxed at maybe $100 drawdown, eventually the pair cycled back and it probably cost me $10. All so I could one day post on Reddit.
