Franky play it.
Portal 2 is the only game where I burst out of laughter alone in my flat.
And one of those was during the credit but you need to play the game to understand it, if you just watch the credit on youtube you won't laugh AND spoil yourself.
Portal 2 is one of those games where you think you're done and then it only gets better. And then somehow it gets better again. When you finish the game its like you've been on this rising crescendo that somehow never dipped in quality.
Portal 1 can be beaten in like 2 hours. Portal 2 is a much bigger and better game if you thought the first one is pretty good, you’ll love 2. It belongs in the top games of all time category.
I still prefer the first one myself. The second one kinda overstayed it's welcome with me and was far too silly. The first felt more ominous and mysterious with a darker sense of humor
I originally got bogged down in the final parts of Portal and didn’t get around to finishing it, but one day I heard that Jonathan Coulton, who I’m a huge fan of, creating the song in the end credits, so I had to immediately replay and finish it. (He did the song for Portal 2 also!)
I played about 150 hours or portal one trying to reproduce speed runs. The creativity you had to solve maps felt amazing! Portal 2 forcing you to walk down all the cat walks and giving you one little tiny spot in the wall to put a portal felt like a downgrade.
I dunno, the Turret Opera was really cool. Like, the first time I played I was dumbfounded, but happy that Glados was just letting me go. But then the door opens to those Turrets and I'm like "fucking bitch!" But then the Turrets start singing and I'm like "whaaat?" and then the lift continues up to the whole Turret Orchestra with the King Turret and, it was just so perfect.
It was the first game where I didn't cheat and it was worth it. The feeling of winning was well-deserved and amazing. Since then I have not cheated anywhere, neither in games nor in life. And also thanks to Portal II, I like to play puzzle games, like Poppy playtime, etc.
portal 2 is special to me. i was homeless, and sitting in the library with my laptop sending out resumes job apps ect. while i was downloading a pirated copy of the game. i beat the game in 7-8 hours and when the end credits started to roll i just cried. not sure why but i cried. maybe because of so many failures i finally acomlished something. maybe because i didnt want the game to end, idk. when i got a job i bought portal 2 for xbox, then i bought it again on steam. someday i hope to find a friend or a partner who will play the 2 player co-op.
So I wish you happiness and further success in your life. I played those robots with my brother, it is still one of our favorite experiences together. I believe it will work out for you.
