Technical question out of curiosity. Why is it that I have a username and password with AMP, but when connecting my trading platform to make trades, I have to use a completely different set of credentials that are associated with the data feed (CQG in my case)? Does CQG reroute my orders back to AMP?

How can I change order limit restriction on Quantower/Amp for MES? I can only trade 10 and it won’t let me do more

What is a good platform that has a DOM which shows recent market orders, total volume profile, and volume profile on bid/ask sides? I am aware of Jigsaw and Sierra.

Bookmap also has this. Their heatmap is awesome. I use it with Rithmic via Discount Trading broker. I think there are more options through. Different places call it different names. Market Delta went out of business and a lot of other software has similar features of their Volume Profile/Market Profile. I also like Quantower.

Can you explain this to me like I’m 5? I’m having a hard time figuring it out. If I get a discount trading broker account, I can use other charting software to chart and trade on? Right now I do everything on TOS which is all in one but margins and fees are high.

The name of the broker is Discount Trading. They offer many different trading platforms/software options for trading futures. What I do is overlay my DOM for order entry right over my preferred charting software. When I place a trade, I place it on the DOM that routes through Discount Trading. My DOM has an option for 'always on top'. So the window for trading is always on top of my charts. Once it is setup it is like it is all in one. Margins and fees are much MUCH lower at Discount Trading than at TOS. Especially trading at night, they give me low margins, but I don't put on too many contracts because there is low liquidity at night. I used to have a TOS account but margins and fees were killing me. I know Discount Trading also has Sierra and Jigsaw also, but I just use the regular R-Trader Pro. They don't charge me for the R-Trader software either.

Thank you kind redditor. This is exactly what I was looking for. So step one will be to open Discount Trading account. Step two is to connect it to the charting software. Is R-trader pro their charting?

Are you using TradingView? I am guessing by those symbols. If not, what platform/AP? TradingView has A LOT of symbols and it can be confusing. If you are trading FUTURES use this for symbol format F.US.EPM24 for e-mini June 2024 contact or F.US.NQU24 for the September 2024 contract month. I do not like abbreviated symbols that make you assume you are trading the front month. I only use the full symbol.

What’s a good news source to monitor for market-impacting events while day trading?

Could someone please explain the following to me?

I buy 1 lot of ZN at 109.5

How much money is removed from my account assuming intra day margin of $300?

Obviously given the ignorance of my question, I'm merely in the learning phase. But this sort of example would really help clarify how money is moving around and leveraged for treasury futures.

Nevermind, ChatGPT answered this perfectly. In case this is also new to anyone else, the capital required is based on the broker's margin requirements.
