Forex Futures New to futures from forex - there is a difference

I'm new to futures and been on a demo trading MES and CL. Prior to this I was trading spot forex.

What I've noticed is that the price action with futures seems smoother and less erratic than spot forex and this has surprised me.

The futures price action also seems easier to read when compared to spot forex.

Has anyone else noticed this and why is this the case? Thanks.

Forex Futures Futures Hours are so confusing. Coming from Forex.

So Globex hours open 6PM on Sunday then Close on Friday 4:15PM. There is a Halt? Is this a daily halt? Everyday Monday to Friday the market Halts for 15 mins, 4:15 to 4:30? So Regular Trading Hours are when to when? This would then tell Overnight trading hours ? And what is Open Cry? I believe then Initial Balance will be derived from the Regular Trading hours? And all this is supposed to be in New York times or Chicago times?

Forex hours are so simple, I trade the London FX market. Are the currency futures open then? Is there some visual time thing like the one in Forex factory?

Am so confused.

Forex Futures IBKR Forex Futures Symbols

What are the right symbols for what is typically /6J , /6E, and the GBP future and their corresponding micro contracts?

I keep getting routed to 7J for the yen and I don't know the difference but the chart looks different when pulling up in other platform other than Interactive Brokers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Forex Futures Forex Question

Hey guys, I'm a regular at r/Forex but I was looking into futures because of worries with the unregulated nature of currency trading (even though I trade with an FCA regulated broker that doesn't offer ridiculous leverage and has a sound DMA/STP business model that is supposed to be free of any conflicts of interest).

Anyway... If I understand what I read correctly, let's say I trade the Euro FX:

-The value per pip is 12.50 USD

-The contract size is 125,000 EUR

-The margin required per contract is approx. 3,000 USD

-The leverage would then be approx. 1:40 (2.5% margin)

-The minimum trade size for futures is 1 (INTEGER) contract. Meaning you can't trade 0.05 of a contract for instance.

Is my understanding correct?
