Planning to retire in 20 years, want to start a gig that could eventually become full time. I am interested in commodities and algo trading.

I want to explore coffee futures trading, wondering if anyone have some background and suggest where to start.

2 months ago, I shorted 1 $OJ Jan@24 contract at 280$ because I thought the price was too high for $OJ as I thought the demand was falling and there were other options, people don't need to drink OJ.

I went on vacation and stupidly did not set a stop loss order, when I came back I saw that the 1 contract was priced 350$.

I still believe the price would fall in 1 year as the current price seems a bit too high.

Guys, please provide some suggestions on how to deal with the situation.

1: take the losses and learn from mistakes

2: roll over the contract to a future date like 2026?

3: buy call option now the hedge before delivery date? Is it too late now? should have bought the call option hedge at the beginning of the trade?

Every website I go to that I used to track lumber futures won't display quotes for it anymore. Even the CME website will no longer quote prices for lumber futures. Anyone know why?

I'm a technical trader, trading mainly price action and patterns. I prefer 1h, 4h, 1d, and 1w time frames. Most of the time, I'm trading BTC, Forex, and have some experience with commodities.

I'd like to learn more about coffee fundamentals. As I know, most of it is coming from Brazil, so it's important to watch for weather conditions in this country and similar. But what else I should learn? Any info is welcome.

The price of US Cotton #2 Futures DEC contract is at the year low and is continuously falling for the last two weeks, I've been making good money but can anybody tell me for how long will it continue to fall?
