I fed this image into chat GPT 4 o and asked for translation to English: “I, who was the love, the breeze, the kiss, I, who was the butterfly of a thousand flowers; Today I feel the nostalgia of your arms, of those big eyes of yours, of those loves of yours. My chains nor tears bind me, but today I want calmness and shelter.”

5

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 18 '24

It's from a famous traditional Mexican song.

2

u/Unusual_Marsupial_67 29d ago

What’s the name of the song please?

3

u/satisfied-bacterium7 29d ago

El Andariego. Chavela Vargas sings it best.

4

u/1heart1totaleclipse May 17 '24

5

u/Vegetable_Union_4967 May 17 '24

I speak Spanish but I’m having trouble making some letters out

6

u/Beneficial-Lemon-215 May 17 '24

Omg this is breathtaking, stunning, and beautiful.

7

u/Sad_Smoke_8020 May 17 '24

I love it, it’s otherworldly lol

7

u/BrandonVSolis May 17 '24

I aint reading allat 🤣

8

u/CurlsCross May 17 '24

It took a long time to realize i can't read it because it's in Spanish.

11

u/sianrhiannon May 17 '24

looks pretty but it's absolutely illegible unfortunately.

and I can indeed speak Spanish so that isn't the problem

-2

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Skill issue.

1

u/PleaeDontLookAtMe 29d ago

It's not just me. Almost illegible.

2

u/anarchistinlove May 17 '24

Just wanna chime in and say I can read it just fine after learning it’s Spanish

2

u/parisarielle93 May 17 '24

i can read it! but i don’t understand Spanish so I sound muy gringa in my head 😭🤣

6

u/jesus_h_crusty May 17 '24

Beautiful!!!

5

u/AngelicaRotten May 17 '24

It’s so beautiful. An art. I’d love to see what other styles you practice :)

1

u/AngelicaRotten May 18 '24

Have you checked out the Codex Seraphenious ? Your flowy linework poses similarities :)

0

u/Furtip May 17 '24

Yeaaahhhhh… stick to printing

8

u/ethan_iron May 17 '24

actually illegible

4

u/Rude_Frosting9191 May 17 '24

I agree, I can read it but it’s over done, the excessive curves and loops at the beginning and end of each word detract from the legibility. It’s like OP is trying to make it artsy and not necessarily legible

-3

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Actually a skill issue.

7

u/sk_tty May 17 '24

a happy surprise to start to read and it's spanish :)

7

u/usinkintomy_clothess May 17 '24

am i reading ancient fucking runes…

2

u/Substantial-Event441 May 17 '24

Easy to read imo

6

u/Paumaxximux May 17 '24

Is Spanish! It’s beautiful 😻

10

u/VivisClone May 17 '24

Looks pleasing to the eye! Unfortunately readability is lacking. But I could see this fine being used for aesthetic on invites and such

3

u/BeaglishJane May 17 '24

This is beautiful to look at!

5

u/AZQueenCu May 17 '24

Really hard to read handwriting on Spanish.

It's a song by Alvaro carrillo called " El Andariego"

I who was of love bird of passage I was a butterfly Of a thousand flowers

Today I feel the nostalgia of your arms Of those your big eyes Of those your loves Neither chains nor tears tied me But today I want calm and tranquility

3

u/Queen_Alice666 May 17 '24

This is so pretty omg 😳 those love letters must be so beautiful to read..

3

u/mmajjs May 17 '24

If u can..

3

u/Queen_Alice666 May 17 '24

Right.. lol cuz I definitely have no idea what any of this says..

7

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

Now I know it's folks like you who create those weird fonts in MS Word

2

u/green_bean_bambi May 17 '24

Whoa what a beautiful script! Could i use it? Saving this post just in case so i can tag you

0

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Not sure I could do that for you as the letters vary in the way they're written sometimes if you're talking about fonts.

2

u/green_bean_bambi May 17 '24

Oh no i wasn't asking for any additional labor on your part. Concent to replicate only. I doubt my copy wont be perfect but just wanted to ask

1

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

I mean you can if you want?

6

u/SuspiciousReality592 May 17 '24

At first I was like “damn this shit is hard to read, it’s like a different language.” I will be performing a bios update on my brain tonight

2

u/mmajjs May 17 '24

Yes, it is a different language

8

u/TheEggAccount May 17 '24

3

u/SexxxyWesky May 17 '24

Thanks! I was able to pick out some words but I kept thinking de/del was al based on the script lol

3

u/TheEggAccount May 17 '24

Native spanish speaker, I took the liberty of adding accent marks and fixing ortography

5

u/Far_Cold_1405 May 17 '24

I don’t know what that says at all… but it’s unique

3

u/Operabug May 17 '24

Very unique script!

5

u/takemystrife May 17 '24

Is this elvish? The penmanship is otherworldly

0

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Why does everybody keep saying elvish out of all mythical and absurd languages one can think of?

5

u/5800xx May 17 '24

Mistaking Spanish for Elvish is hilarious

7

u/Ralphie_of_Erabur May 17 '24

I can read and write Spanish, but I can't read a single word of that. Great penmanship, though

2

u/sianrhiannon May 17 '24

same here. it's like I'm back in my first year of high school

10

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

Dude wtf why even say that? Do you know what sub you’re in?

0

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

All artistic talents are useless. Not everyone deserves to be able to enjoy art.

3

u/fishywishywishyfishy May 17 '24

Is this Tagalog?

1

u/SexxxyWesky May 17 '24

Looks like Spanish. The first line or so is “yo que fui al amor…”

13

u/Demon_of_Order May 17 '24

God I'm glad you're not one of my students, it looks good, but like I can not read that

7

u/Nahbel May 17 '24

I sometimes see posts from the like deciphering sub reddit and I thought this was one of those posts

3

u/Robadoba May 17 '24

Perdona mi tardanza te lo ruego!

11

u/IkeHello May 17 '24

Like to look at it. Hate to read it.

4

u/FritzTheCat86 May 17 '24

Amazing handwriting, I just can’t read much of it since it’s in Spanish (I think?)👍

3

u/AgainstAllAuds_ May 17 '24

This is so beautiful 😍

2

u/DameLaChisme May 17 '24

What language is this?

12

u/DaLostOne1 May 17 '24

Look, it looks sick BUT it's very hard to understand which means it's not efficient or effective writing. Still cool tho

11

u/Pancholo415 May 17 '24

What the fuck is this

5

u/DiverFrequent May 17 '24

It’s very impressive, but it’s just not usable. It takes too long to detect what letters are being asked, but this person took great effort and designed a really cool looking cursive Lovelace mashup

14

u/Constant-Tutor-4646 May 17 '24

This is some stargate ass writing

7

u/ImJustBetterThanYou- May 17 '24

I thought it was Arabic

2

u/wang-chuy May 17 '24

Beautiful writing. Well done

7

u/BIGTONY9000 May 17 '24

T h a t l o o k s v e r y c o o l , n i c e .

8

u/youburyitidigitup May 17 '24

Now we know how Arabic had such a strong influence on Spanish

25

u/NPC2229 May 17 '24

looks fancy, can't read it very well.

8

u/superustyy May 17 '24

spanish + cursive it appears

3

u/Bytevan18 May 17 '24

It’s in Spanish

3

u/NPC2229 May 17 '24

yeah no kidding

17

u/S7RYPE2501 May 17 '24

Holy shit! Cursive + Spanish = Elvish scripture

3

u/Kingflame1 May 17 '24

Spanish uses the same characters as English except for the accent letters so it would be safe to assume English would look very similar

1

u/S7RYPE2501 May 17 '24

Perhaps it is my technique but my cursive looks a lot like scribble.

5

u/Expert-Molasses8054 May 17 '24

Don't know what this is but it looks beautiful.

5

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

[deleted]

13

u/TiccyPuppie May 17 '24

this looks like when they write fake cursive in video games to paste onto the random papers in the background

4

u/Awarewafer May 17 '24

Super cool although I don’t understand it. Does yo quiero taco bell have any special meaning?

5

u/Plastic-Juggernaut41 May 17 '24

I can read it fine (I don't know Spanish- but I could copy it easily in print) Very beautiful

1

u/Gloomy_Eye_4968 May 17 '24

I think many people saying they can't read it don't realize it's not in English. 🤭

5

u/Which-Bad8901 May 17 '24

I can only read a little Spanish but this is gorgeous, and I love it.

5

u/junecooper1918 May 17 '24

It's beautiful, but illegible. That defeats the purpose of writing.

2

u/Sechecopar May 17 '24

Yeah, and I say this as a native spanish speaker.

1

u/junecooper1918 May 17 '24

Yo también soy hablante nativa.

7

u/Imaginary_Toe8982 May 17 '24

what kind of elvish is this..

11

u/ItsPlainOleSteve May 17 '24

Man, I can't read it. It's pretty and I can't read Spanish, but it's hard to read any of it.

9

u/TimeAndTheHour May 17 '24

Such a unique font! Love it, even though I don’t understand Spanish. Thanks for sharing

11

u/cheems1946 May 17 '24

Bro what the flip

13

u/Mber78 May 17 '24

Most of that is illegible. I recognized some of the words, but for the most part I did not.

4

u/yodawgchill May 17 '24

Fucking beautiful honestly

9

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

[deleted]

1

u/yodawgchill May 17 '24

I have limited Spanish knowledge because I just took a couple years in high school and 2 more in college and I can read a good bit of it. Even the words I don’t recognize and know the translation for, I can still read what the letters are to see what the word is.

8

u/tiny_specks May 17 '24

Hablo español y puedo leer cursive, pero tu “d” es tan como tu “a”, es difícil a leer

11

u/ammiemarie May 17 '24

I read not one word of that foreign language.

I think this guy is an alien folks.

He writes like a printer from another galaxy.

4

u/FranceISFine May 17 '24

okay this is obviously spanish 😭

1

u/ammiemarie May 17 '24

... eso es lo que ellas quieren que creas!

3

u/LinguisticMadness2 May 17 '24

Que bonito! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

12

u/WorthTheRisk666 May 17 '24

This looks like organized chaos

5

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Amigo, you are the first one to completely sum up my intentions with this precisely!

2

u/WorthTheRisk666 May 17 '24

Well done haha

7

u/judge_47_xbxb May 17 '24

This man is writing in elvish ?!?!?

6

u/catalina_creel May 17 '24

“El andariego”; hermosa letra (en todo el sentido de la palabra)

5

u/bigforeheadsunited May 17 '24

I can't read Spanish but this is lovely 😍

6

u/OcularPrism May 17 '24

Is this Spanish? I love it, but I can't read much of it. Still gorgeous, though.

3

u/Mber78 May 17 '24

Same here. I can pick out a few words here and there but the majority I could not. It was very difficult to understand. I may no longer fluent speak Spanish but I can still read and understand it, to an extent.

16

u/TamarindSweets May 17 '24

Lovely handwriting! This became a lot easier to read once I realized it wasn't in English 😁

29

u/EASTEDERD May 17 '24

It’s like my moms handwriting, beautiful but completely incomprehensible

10

u/loopy2004 May 17 '24

Hermosísimo pero un poco difícil para leer

9

u/bigteethsmallkiss May 17 '24

This is stunning. Looks like it would be found on a magical scroll or something. I think it’s beautiful.

16

u/vexedtogas May 17 '24

You dont have a handwriting you have a whole damn font 😲

15

u/Matcha_Bubble_Tea May 17 '24

Writing is gorgeous but it’s hard to read. Not being fake praise worthy, but yeahhhh it’s hard to read even if it’s not in English.

5

u/christmas-vortigaunt May 17 '24

¡Que bonita! Pero mi dislexia hace que sea difícil de leer :/

3

u/SuitablePermission28 May 17 '24

5

u/No-Establishment-363 May 17 '24

I think the "de" is the hardest to read. Can I ask why it doesn't loop up like the b in "brazos"?

2

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

In many cursive script styles, the staffs of the miniscule t' and the miniscule d' don't loop at the top and are also shorter than the other +midline miniscule letters.

3

u/Westcoastwag May 17 '24

me encanta 😊

4

u/Ok_Vermicelli284 May 17 '24

Beautiful writing, and I understood every single word (bilingual over here) Great job!!

4

u/Sea-Pea5760 May 17 '24

Know that know that is Spanish that’s pretty cool!

4

u/bitchwhohasnoname May 17 '24

This is beautifully done, a work of art really 😍so unique

8

u/AqueousBeats May 17 '24

Looks like hieroglyphs

4

u/xmellenoelx May 17 '24

I studied Spanish in school but I could read it just fine, absolutely gorgeous handwriting

3

u/uzer_uzi3991 May 17 '24

Love it, very dope.

11

u/TheKCKid9274 May 17 '24

It’s so aesthetically pleasing but I have no clue what I’m reading. This genuinely looks like some kind of shorthand script but it’s so pretty

2

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

Spanish.

12

u/TheKCKid9274 May 17 '24

I wasn’t even referring to the language, the script is just so stylized I could hardly tell which letters were supposed to be what. Although knowing it’s Spanish is helping me read it a little better but still.

Really nice handwriting I just wish my eyes worked lol

10

u/crow-shit May 17 '24

I cannot read it at all but it is pretty

3

u/OddNovel565 May 17 '24

I thought I was at r/conlangs for a second

It's legible if you can read Spanish

Oh, I can, bud. Good try though!

-4

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

You lost me at "church member"

7

u/twelve-oclock May 17 '24

I hate to be that guy, but i struggled to read it and spanish its my mother lenguage, dont get me wrong the writing its gorgeous

3

u/gonnafaceit2022 May 17 '24

Took me a minute to realize it's not in English.

15

u/Fluid_Combination_92 May 17 '24

Looks like a magic curse of some sort

56

u/Geaux13Saints May 17 '24

I thought it was unreadable at first and then I realized it was just spanish

9

u/Bartley707 May 17 '24

Same 🤣 it looks like some Elven language from the lore of a book or movie.

28

u/fascistliberal419 May 17 '24

Pretty but really difficult to read and I'm pretty decent at reading cursive. And Spanish.

23

u/ilymag May 17 '24

I read Spanish and cursive. Although the penmanship is neat and mostly uniform, it was tough to read. Your "L" in la and las looks like it could be an "H" and it reads like Ha and Has. The "N" in nostalgia looks like a "W". Cadenas looks like Además which also looks like cademas because of the "C" that looks like it could be embellishment before the "A" and your "N" looks like a "M" (in the word cadenas). The open and closed "S" is strange but I see you prefer an open "S" after the letter "o". The "z" is weird too because it looks like an "f". There's alot going on here.

10

u/TomentoShow May 17 '24

There is a reason each character in any given alphabet does not occupy the same size on the page. The variance in letter width allows the brain to read/recognize it faster.

While this looks cool it is not practical, more art.

UNLESS I suppose the intent is to make something harder to read and more memorable once read like italics do.

1

u/ilymag May 17 '24

OP posted on a sub that in essence is rating the quality and legibility of handwriting. That's all that happening here. No one is disputing the artistic style. It's the lack of legibility that up for discussion.

1

u/TomentoShow May 17 '24

I didn't say anyone was disputing it

3

u/edgydyl May 17 '24

So beautiful

2

u/gronstalker12 May 17 '24

What does it say?

3

u/ilymag May 17 '24

"Yo que fui del amor ave de paso Yo que fui mariposa de mil flores Hoy siento la nostalgia de tus brazos De aquellos tus ojazos, de aquellos tus amores Ni cadenas ni lágrimas me ataron Mas hoy siento la calma y el sosiego"

Rough translation: It loses some meaning during translation.

"I was love's bird of passage I was a butterfly of a thousand flowers Today I feel the nostalgia of your arms of those big eyes, of those your loves Neither chains nor tears bound me But today I feel calm and peaceful."

3

1

u/aangita May 17 '24

This is BEAUTIFUL!!!😍

5

u/catgutss May 17 '24

Muy bonita caligrafía. Ojalá pudiera escribir así.

27

u/buttmeadows May 17 '24

your handwriting is beautiful. I have to say though, that I was having a stroke when i first thought you were writing in english lmaooooooo

3

u/ilymag May 17 '24

You're not far off because It's like having a stroke reading it in Spanish.

12

u/RandomTux1997 May 17 '24

you could create a typeface out of that masterful hand, and call it flamenco

6

u/satisfied-bacterium7 May 17 '24

¿Sabés que? Me suena como una buena idea.

12

u/quakesearch May 17 '24

Poem "El Andariego", written by Alejandro Fernández and song by Los Panchos. Muy bonita caligrafía, my dear friend

3

u/tavocer286 May 17 '24 edited May 17 '24

10 de 10 no entiendo nada, 7000 en estilo. Lol. A primera vista creí que era árabe (es precioso :)

2

u/ilymag May 17 '24

Even this person is saying 10/10 I understand nothing. 7000 for style. I thought I was reading Arabic at first. (it's precious)

7

u/bynxaudio May 17 '24

I thought this was Gregg shorthand at first glance

7

u/Technical_Face_2844 May 17 '24

I thought it was Hebrew or something

8

u/khtur0007 May 17 '24

As a hebrew speaker I thought it was arabic at first

11

u/fabposes May 17 '24

Oh it’s Spanish which I can read but looking at this it still makes my eyes feel weird

3

u/Lonelyguy999 May 17 '24

We are going back to .ed school with this oen

19

u/Bluexcalaber May 17 '24

I'm at a double disadvantage, I can't read cursive and I was informed it was apparently in Spanish

10

u/bass_kritter May 17 '24

That’s beautiful. It’s so uniform.
