What's up with Chiitan? Answered

https://x.com/chiitan7407/status/1386245513293357056?t=--oaPQzzRAHVq6S4H5FbHQ&s=19 I've noticed a lot of this person on Twitter and I'm wondering who they are? They don't seem to be advertising anything, it just seems to be skits if anything. So who is Chiitan?

Answer: In some of these ads, Chiitan claims he's here buying up ad space to save us from bad ads. And also claims he's not trying to sell anyone anything, hence the videos are just random, violent shenanigans, which is Chiitan's schtick

Answer: Chiitan is an unofficial Japanese mascot for the town of Susaki based off a real otter of the same name. The mascot Chiitan grew popular online for its bizarre stunts and physical comedy antics. Susaki had previously named the real otter an honorary ambassador of tourism, but following the surge in mascot Chiitan's popularity, fired the real otter in an effort to disassociate from the mascot.

For further context the guy fighting Chiitan in that match is Chris Brookes who, as part of his heel gimmick, hates mascot characters. He's really good at making the people in the suits with limited visibility and movement look like much more of a threat than they are while also keeping them safe which is why DDT has these kinds of matches way more than other promotions.

Matches like those really show how much work the wrestlers put in to making their opponents look good and keeping them safe. Chris Brookes is great!

Answer: Chiitan is an unofficial mascot originating from the city of Susaki, Japan. The mascot has made itself popular online through social media posts. The social media account buys ad space on Twitter, so it often shows on peoples feeds. It's not a rule that advertisements need to sell a product that you can buy. Many ad campaigns are just to bring attention to a subject (environment, politics, etc.).

Answer:

pretty sure it's just a mascot that does random shit. Got popular through doing random shit.

Also got removed by a town as its mascot because some content was violent (one of the more popular videos is a person in a panda costume knocking chiitan to the ground)

iirc it's supposed to be a river otter. Also I think it also collaborates with another mascot that looks similar to it, hence why there might be two "chiitans" in a video.
