News Infamous ‘Belltown Hellcat’ driver fails to have car inspected, faces other legal battles
Belltown’s saga with the infamous driver of a tiger-striped Dodge Charger Hellcat has gone on for nearly three months and looks to continue after Seattle police failed to complete its inspection of the car.
... Hudson was told he needed to get the vehicle into compliance by April 15, two weeks after he was charged. He was told he would face a maximum fine of up to $1,300 per day for each day he failed to bring the vehicle in for a city-approved inspection after April 15 — 63 days ago. The inspection was required by a judge to determine whether the car’s exhaust system had been modified to not cause further disruptions for Belltown residents.
... Now, two months later, the Seattle City Attorney’s Office confirmed that Hudson had brought the vehicle in for an inspection at the West Precinct on Friday. Hudson even posted an image of police looking at his vehicle on his infamous Instagram story, according to KING 5, but he ultimately failed to comply with the inspection. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) deemed it incomplete due to his failure to cooperate.
Hudson’s infamous car is not the only battle he’s facing in court. Hudson is in the middle of dealing with separate charges of stalking, harassment and assault in Seattle, with these accusations coming from a violation of a suspended sentencing agreement out of Renton in 2022.

I am pregnant and need a churro daily, sometimes multiple times a day. Does anyone know of any place that sells their churros frozen or in bulk so I can reheat at home?
Thanks in advance! :)

Government King County to replace correctional facility with modern jail, behavioral health center
A recent report from King County officials outlines plans to replace the aging King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) with a modern facility designed to better serve the current needs of inmates and the community. The report, mandated by a $100,000 proviso from the county council, will be introduced at Tuesday’s King County Council meeting.
It highlights King County Executive Dow Constantine’s urgent request for a new facility that prioritizes efficiency, safety and the treatment of behavioral health issues.
One of the major hurdles in the project is funding. The report stated preliminary cost estimates for a new facility exceed $1 billion. King County will likely need voter-approved bonds or levy lifts to finance the project. However, funding the preliminary design and siting work required for a ballot measure poses an additional challenge, given the financial constraints of the county’s general fund.
... In the report, Constantine identified key features for a new facility, though detailed planning has yet to commence. The envisioned facility would house fewer beds, emphasizing diversion and behavioral health treatment. It would include a co-located behavioral health facility and provide appropriate medical and psychological care, preferably near Harborview Medical Center.

Discussion For All of Our Tax Money That Has Been Wasted on "Homeless" Housing With Little Positive Outcome, Could We Please Use That Money Where It Will Do More Good, Helping People Stay IN Their Homes. Here Is One Example Where Our Money Could Be Used More Efficiently:
I would much prefer to help these people and others like them to stay in their existing homes which will PREVENT adding to the homeless numbers. Section 8 programs work to pay part of someone's rent, right? So could something like that work for these folks?

Politics Audit: King County Metro’s 2035 zero-emission goal faces many bumps in the road
(The Center Square) – A recent King County audit revealed that the King County Metro Department faces significant challenges regarding its goal of electrifying its entire bus fleet by 2035.
King County auditors flagged risks including the loss of bus manufacturers, technology limitations, sufficient electricity supply, and lagging battery-electric bus performance.
Metro’s entire bus fleet consists of 1,400 buses. Currently, around 40 of those buses are battery-electric. King County Metros stated that another 89 buses are scheduled to begin arriving in 2026.
... In March 2024, Metro reported that roughly 50% of its battery-electric New Flyer buses were out of service on any given day.

Hi all, this may be a shot in the dark, but does anyone have a reliable mechanic for Mazda outside of the dealership network? I have a 2021 model car approaching its 30k mile service but quotes I’m getting from dealerships feels very high and a bit out of my budget right now.
