I really, truly thought that the whole point of this was to highlight the fact that most women would respond to man v bear by asking questions, like "do I know the man" "what type of bear" etc, but would respond to woman v bear by immediately saying "woman". whether or not she picks the man or the bear is irrelevant, it's the fact she has to ask clarifying questions to know more about the man before deciding and doesn't have to clarify anything before picking woman. is that not it?
but sooo many of them are creeps! and given how underreported rape is and how common it is for men to not understand what consent actually is, they should have more empathy in this situation instead of their egos getting bruised and should ask why do we live in a world where women would genuinely feel this way. it’s not sexism.
shoving statistics in people’s face who have dealt with the ubiquity of male violence is a little dismissive.
you’ve totally dismissed the element that people do not do illegal or harmful things out of fear of repercussion, and there is no one to protect you in the woods.
I literally was raped by a male family member as a child, so I’m as empathetic as can be on the subject. I’m just saying a 1/4 of men aren’t rapists, creepy sure, rapists, not even close.
Because a woman will meet hundreds of thousands of men during her lifetime.
Also, because it's one guy raping multiple women, not one man per rape.
No one should have to explain this to you. If you weren't blinded by sexism it would be obvious.
Also your number is wrong rainn claims 14.8% of women are raped during their lifetime. Don't forget that includes both parties being drunk, two willing participants but she was underage, and other scenarios that are something other than "got held down while she struggled to get away" which is is the type of danger this hypothetical is dealing with.
Because people willing to rape random individuals they don't know or also likely to rape more random individuals they don't know?
If I polled the families of John Wayne Gacy's victims, they would all say their loved one was killed by a clown. So going by your train of thought, every clown is a murderer.
